JoyfullyRecommendedFBI Special Agent Danica Beckett walked away from the man she loved years ago to save his life.  She comforts herself in her work but has been unable to move on.  When grisly murders land in her territory she must reach out for help from her old boss.  Danica’s history with shifters tells her the killer is a shifter and more dangerous than her and her new partner can handle.  She asked for help but she never expected to see the man who holds her heart to walk back into her life.

The absolute last thing shifter Clayne Buchanan wants is to work with the woman who broke his heart into a million pieces.  However, orders are orders and if a shifter murderer needs to be put down he is the man for the job.  Clayne just didn’t counted on the difficult time he would have being so close to the woman that got away.

A killer wants to play a game of cat and mouse with the feds.  He stalks his prey lasciviously taunting Danica and Clayne.  Once again, Danica and Clayne must work together or find themselves on the wrong end of a shifter’s claws.  Will their passion reignite or will a killer get to them first?

Paige Tyler gets an A+ for Her Lone Wolf and the X-Ops series.  Tyler infuses sexy romance with an outstanding plot and characters that leave you wanting more in Her Lone Wolf.  I could not wait to find out about the woman that Clayne was meant to be with.  Clayne definitely stood out in the first X-Ops series book, Her Perfect Mate.  He is a very passionate and wild character and that side of him came out a lot in Her Lone Wolf.

The second Clayne and Danica are on the pages together the reader can feel the intensity between them.  It is electric and I couldn’t help but smile with anticipation. There are some ghastly scenes in the novel but they bring the suspense and keep the reader guessing.  Clayne and Danica really are the perfect team.  They have such chemistry, it’s as if they would not be complete without each other.

Her Lone Wolf’s murder mystery is first rate but it’s the emotion that Tyler weaves into the story that makes it unforgettable.  I found myself swept up not only in the relationship between Clayne and Danica but the other characters as well.  With characters like these it’s impossible not to fall in love with them all and keep coming back for more.

Her Lone Wolf is must read romance!

Ex-Marine Gunnery Sergeant Wyatt Callahan was in trouble. Wyatt suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. After landing in jail from his latest PTSD episode, a drunken Wyatt had the police officer call Michelle Sapphire to bail him out. But, when Michelle issues him an ultimatum, will he accept the challenge?

From the moment they met while serving in war duty, Dr. Michelle Sapphire knew there was a strong attraction between her and Wyatt Callahan; but, Michelle was not interested in having a relationship with a man who did not welcome her Dominatrix lifestyle. But when she receives an alarming late night phone call concerning Wyatt, she is willing to do anything to help him work through his demons – even if it means persuasively introducing him to the Dom/sub world as a way to set him on a road to redemption.

Wow! Still was an emotional tale that took me on an emotionally wild roller coaster ride. I felt sorrow, joy, anger, unhappiness, and excitement all throughout Still. I could not get enough of Michelle and Wyatt. As a responsible Domme, Michelle always ensured that Wyatt was willing and comfortable in the sexual situations she knew he needed. Whereas, Wyatt struggled to come to terms with his desires to sexually please Michelle as a submissive, he never lost his Alpha male personality. And, let me tell you, their sex scenes were scorching H-O-T! I was burning with great desire at each and every sexual encounter. Lastly, I applaud author Ann Mayburn for tackling a difficult subject matter such as PTSD and the distressing effects it can have on soldiers and their family members. Still is a beautifully written, heartfelt story that I Joyfully Recommend!

JoyfullyRecommendedNatalie Clayton was a bit reckless and wild while much younger, but she is now a college graduate, a librarian, and a respected member of her community.  This is something that Natalie has worked really hard to achieve and she isn’t about to let anything interfere with it.  So when she comes face to face with a man that is directly from her wild past while getting her morning latte, Natalie decides to ignore one infamous Paddy Hurley.

Patrick Hurley, more commonly known as Paddy, is a member of a world renowned rock band that he began with his brothers.  While the atmosphere that surrounds rock performers hasn’t been nice to any of the brothers, they all have dealt with the problems that almost destroyed them and right now they are relaxing while getting ready to work on a new album and begin a tour in their home town of Hood River.  Meeting someone he knows in his hometown isn’t uncommon but when that someone is a woman he was very intimate with way back when is.  Even more so is being blown off by her.

Paddy isn’t about to let Natalie get away with her “amnesia” of him or their time together and begins his campaign to get Natalie back into his life.  Natalie knows she is under seige by Paddy but for once in her life she can’t use her strong backbone to keep ignoring him and finds herself on dates with a rock star who won’t take no for an answer.  Both Paddy and Natalie have things in their pasts which make any relationship for them almost the hardest thing they could do, but on the other hand the attraction and passion between them isn’t something they can just let go of.  Their road on the way to becoming a couple isn’t easy and has many, many potholes and roadblocks, yet it seems that love is just as stubborn as Natalie and Paddy are.  The only thing that matters when the final curtain comes down and the lights are lowered is the love and trust that has built between them that will let them conquer all the obstacles trying to tear them apart – no matter how large they seem.

A past hot and heavy romance comes into the present when one hot rock star meets the sexy woman he never forgot in The Best King of Trouble.  I was entranced while watching as Paddy and Natalie overcame all hurtles in their way of a passion that just glows whether they are together or apart.  As I went on the journey with them, I saw pretty fast that the odds were against them based on various things in their individual pasts.  Yet I also watched and loved how hard they fought for each other and their love, heck they even had Paddy’s family behind them and what seemed like the majority of the town.  When I knew all would be okay with Paddy and Natalie, was when they both were able to say sorry and talk out the final fight and misunderstandings that might have been the final straw that would tear them apart.  The deep emotions, friendships and communication are just a few of the reasons I could not put The Best Kind of Trouble down.

Paddy and Natalie are a couple that I could almost see walking down the streets of my town, which tells you right there just how believable of a couple they are and just how down to earth their journey really was.  If you can’t tell yet, I am overwhelmingly Joyfully Recommending The Best Kind of Trouble as a must read and an instant keeper.  What an amazing start to a new series and a refreshing way to make a rock band the focus of it.  I now can’t wait until I can see how the next Hurley brother finds the woman who will become his forever love.

Tess Graham is running for her life praying she can keep away from her ex-boss who is an entity that most people fear.  Tess is now down to her last chance to survive and that is to become a vampyre’s human attendant.  While she believes that most vampyres are the worst type of monster, Tess knows that if she is accepted by one that they will protect her no matter what.  So on New Year’s Eve, Tess lines up with the rest of the hopefuls to audition at the annual Vampyre Ball.

Xavier del Torro was a Spanish nobleman who became a vampyre to right the wrong done to his family long ago.  He is at the ball as part of his position as Vampyre King’s right hand man.  He wasn’t really looking for a new attendant but something about Tess’ straight forward audition had him selecting her to interview.  Xavier knows that Tess is holding something huge from him and that she isn’t exactly excited to become a blood donor but he still decides to give her a chance to fit into this household.  Maybe by the time her training is over, Tess will tell Xavier exactly why she wants to be in his household and what she is running from.

Tess never imagined the type of intense training that she is given to prove herself and to prepare her for whatever Xavier might request of her.  Xavier is gone through the majority of her early training but when he comes back home, both of them are shocked by the intense feelings that spark between them.  Xavier decides to take control of some of Tess’ training himself in a chance to break down her walls.  Tess finds herself beginning to have feelings for the man she first thought was a monster.  When Tess decides to quit and leave in order to protect Xavier and his household, what she gets is a fierce protector that will use every card he holds in order to not just protect Tess but to give them a chance at the loving future that seems right at their fingertips.  Just when it appears that the future is bright and all theirs for the taking, a betrayal brings a deadly danger which might just end Tess and Xavier before they get the chance to explore their feelings and the love that sprang from it.

A desperate woman and a man who knows all about what hides in the dark discover that total opposites can become the perfect mates in Night’s Honor.  Tess and Xavier journey from mistrust and grudging acceptance to passion to love all while Tess is trying to learn how to be one of Xavier’s human attendants.  I discovered pretty quickly that life both as a vampyre or as one of their household is not all happiness, but more like each household is a special unit of some secret agency.  So many secrets to be discovered or to be kept where one wrong word or action could be your last.  And yet with all this underhandedness, Tess and Xavier not only found love but also the trust that allowed them to fight off the worst danger instinctively as a team.  I loved watching Tess change her attitude from when Xavier first interviewed her until she fought and would have died in order to save him.

I have always loved The Elder Races novels, I have to say the intensity of Tess and Xavier’s journey shot their story to the top of my list of favorites in this series.  I found that Night’s Honor had it all, deep friendships, danger, suspense, betrayal, toe curling passion and best of all a cliff hanger that leads into the next book.  Tess and Xavier’s book will never leave my reader and it’s a must read, over and over again, in my opinion.  It’s also a book that I Joyfully Recommend as one you won’t want to miss.

At a benefit dinner, community activist Maria Cervantes overhears two men plotting a terrorist attack that could rock Miami to its core. But before she can alert authorities, she’s almost killed in a massive explosion—and wakes up in a hospital with no memory of what happened. As the sole survivor of the attack, she is now a person of interest to the NSA—and especially to Agent Cade O’Reilly. Because Maria is the one woman Cade has never been able to forget. Years ago, they were closer than either was willing to admit—until Cade disappeared when Maria needed him most. Now he’s sticking by her, whether she likes it or not. Because the memories locked inside her mind could hold vital clues to the next attack. Because terrorists want her dead—and because he never wants to let her go again.

JoyfullyRecommendedMaria Cervantes is known around Miami as a community activist.  Unfortunately, at the latest charity event Maria overhears the wrong conversation.  As Maria attempts to get help the party is blown to bits.  Being the only survivor Maria is a hot commodity among the good guys and bad guys.  The bad want her dead and one very hot NSA agent wants to keep her alive for personal and professional reasons.

Agent Cade O’Reilly has carried a torch for Maria for a long time.  She was there for him like no other could be when he served overseas.  But tragedy took him away from her and now a different kind of tragedy brings them back together.  Maria doesn’t know who is out to get her.  Cade is going to do whatever it takes to keep her safe and figure out the next target before it’s too late.

Katie Reus knows how to get the adrenaline pumping with her latest Deadly Ops. novel, Bound to Danger.  While this is the second book in Ms. Reus’ Deadly Ops novels it can be read as a standalone.  Before reading Bound to Danger make sure you are ready for high stakes action, drama and a romance to bet your life on.

Maria Cervantes is a smart and likable character.  She walks into danger unwittingly, suffers unimaginable loss, but keeps fighting against those that are hunting her down.  Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she has one strong and handsome man of honor ready to defend her.  Cade O’Reilly is a man who knows what he wants and makes it clear he’s going to get it.  He has this effortless way of asserting his dominance.  He isn’t arrogant like most Alpha types which I liked.  Don’t get me wrong I love the “I am Man hear me roar” type of Alpha but there was something subtle about Cade that I really enjoyed.  It didn’t hurt that these characters were backed up with a great plot.  I don’t really care for the villain’s point of view but it works here.  It helps to heighten the dramatic tension.

If you are like me and never found a summer blockbuster to fall in love with Bound to Danger is for you.  Katie Reus’ Bound to Danger packs tons of intensity into her latest Deadly Ops novel.  I started this read after searching Netflix, Amazon and Hulu for something filled with action and romance with no luck.  Bound to Danger exceeded my high expectations and if you are in need of an entertaining read this is the book for you!
