Shay Walker likes to hold herself apart from others, never fully opening herself to anyone or anything.  She even manages to not completely reveal herself to her many students that she tutors.  However, a chance encounter with a stranger at a bar, who becomes more than a one-night stand, soon has her dealing with things from her past and desperately trying to fill the cracks her walls are revealing.

Jason “Jace” Jennings doesn’t know how to connect to anyone, especially his teenage daughter who has only him to depend upon after the death of her mother, Jace’s ex-wife.  Maintaining his control over his feelings, he is shocked to discover the identity of his one-night stand, and so he scrambles to remedy the situation of both his daughter’s attractive tutor as well as the care of his daughter. Will Shay and Jace realize that making one another lose control is just what they need to find their HEA, or will they stick with the easy route and walk away?

Make Me Lose Control is a baggage filled, heartwarming read, that completely touched me as Shay and Jace navigated their way through their tale.  I found several scenes that somehow reached out and grabbed me, showing that some innocuous events from the past have a lasting effect on an individual’s future.  Make Me Lose Control even proved the point that an individual tends to remember the bad more than the good of situations.

The author’s voice in Make Me Lose Control was light and fun loving as each character was thoroughly fleshed out.  Jace and Shay seemed well rounded and approachable, as though they were everyday people with their own problems trying to navigate this wide big world in Make Me Lose Control.  On the surface, it seemed that Jace and Shay weren’t so different, but I completely enjoyed the fact that their circumstances, though not the same, managed to shape some of their perspectives and protective natures the way that they did.  It was as though there was different ways to end up with the same results in Make Me Lose Control.  I also felt that there were similarities between Shay and Jace’s daughter that enabled her to connect with her the way that she did in this story.

Make Me Lose Control is a story that came across as completely realistic in its characters, and the shaping of them with their baggage from the past, that it managed to tug several tears from this reader.  Because of the heart-tugging believability of Make Me Lose Control, I Joyfully Recommend this tale!

Police Inspector Toshi Genjin needs help.  He is one of the detectives assigned to tracking down a serial killer, but they are no closer to discovering the Ronin Killer’s actual identity than they were when the killings started.

Psychic John Holmes hasn’t worked in four months.  With a single touch, he is able to discover the thoughts and feelings of anyone, either through touching them, or touching something that they have been in contact with.  He is tired of being overloaded with images, but when he first sees the coverage of the Ronin killings on TV and is called in to help, he cannot refuse.

Toshi and John are both incredibly attracted to each other from their first meeting.  With John staying at Toshi’s place, it doesn’t take long for things to heat up between them.  But nothing can ever come from a relationship between them.  Toshi is engaged to a woman he doesn’t love because of pressure from his family and he cannot allow his love for John to intrude.  John is pushing himself to his limits to discover the identity of the next victim, but when John and Toshi make the surprising discovery that the Ronin Killer is targeting people that are in doomed relationships, they realize one of them may be next.  Is there any possibility of a future together?

His Beautiful Samurai is a mouthwatering story of unbelievable beauty.  I fell in love with Toshi; his uncertainty, his needs and his loyalty are all attributes that make him an incredible man.  John is exactly what Toshi needs, and the two men fit each other perfectly.  Add in a mystery and a connection to several historical samurai’s and His Beautiful Samurai has several layers that I found fascinating.  I happily lost myself while reading His Beautiful Samurai and simply cannot wait to see what Sedonia Guillone will write next!  I need more of these two men!!

A surprise inheritance reunites a mixed martial arts fighter with the woman he's never forgotten in the first in a smoldering new series from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster Cannon Colter is quintessential hero material: chiseled jawline, shredded body—the works. He's also the guy who rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers, only to put an end to her romantic dreams. These days, she's older, smarter, determined to face whatever life throws her way. Even the prospect of sharing a house and business with Cannon. Cannon knew Yvette wanted him three years ago. But she was young—and some things are worth waiting for. Thrown together by her grandfather's legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette's scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters. And he'll break all the rules to do it….

Three years ago, Connor Colter rescued Yvette Sweeny from very dangerous men who had broken into her grandfather’s business. Conner knew then that Yvette had feelings for him but she was too young. Now the death of Yvette’s grandfather has brought Yvette back into Connor’s life and this time Connor has no intention of letting her go. Faced with danger from the past Connor must protect Yvette even as he works toward convincing her to stay with him.

I only have one word for No Limits …..WOW! I’d been waiting for Connor and Yvette’s story for what seemed forever!  However, once I got my hands on it I couldn’t stop reading. Sexy, full of adventure and my favorite characters from previous books, Lori Foster delivered a winner!

It was only meant to be seen by his buddies.  However, Jared Stone’s manifesto on women made the rounds on the Internet, and now he needs to do some major clean-up in order to salvage his company with its shareholders.  At the top of his ‘to do’ list is promoting Bailey St. John to VP of marketing. Being the schemer that he is, Jared works it to his advantage until he finds he is more involved than just business relations.

Bailey St. John has been working for Stone Industries for several years, and she hoped to have met her life’s goal by now.  However, Jared refused to promote her to a job she felt she could do in her sleep.  When his manifesto comes out, she realizes that her boss is just a pig, and her job is a dead end!  Resignation in hand, she is offered her dream job, only she didn’t read the fine print.

The Magnate’s Manifesto was an engrossing chemistry-filled scandalous read from beginning to end.  I enjoyed the fact that Bailey was a hard worker that she was prepared to walk when her boss’s manifesto leaked.  However, she was also willing to put aside some personal issues for the sake of the company, and was confident enough to know that she could help it to succeed in The Magnate’s Manifesto.  Jared was a thrill to watch as all his preconceived perceptions of women were kicked to the side by Bailey and her company-first stance.

I also liked that even though Bailey didn’t have the best beginnings, she reinvented herself against all the odds to rise to the top in The Magnate’s Manifesto.  Generally, the hero in these stories seem to have a lot to overcome, and Jared did in The Magnate’s Manifesto, but I preferred the growth of Bailey more.  I think that Jared meant every single word of his manifesto, but Bailey blew those beliefs out of the water, and it was fun watching Jared realize his assumptions were wrong in The Magnate’s Manifesto.

The Magnate’s Manifesto had Jared and Bailey slow burning over the course of the tale, and a sleazy villain was tossed in to stir that combustion a little more in their favor.  Who wouldn’t love a story like that?  Therefore, I Joyfully Recommend The Magnate’s Manifesto.

Niccolo Da Conti liked to be in control of many things, including his sister.  However, she is pushing to have her unacceptable school girlfriend, Alannah Collins, act as her bridesmaid, and Niccolo can NOT have the ‘tacky topless model’ sullying his sister’s reputation.  To make matters worse for Niccolo, he finds that he is still attracted to the little tramp.  What else is the billionaire to do, but offer her something she can’t refuse in order to get her out of his system and move on with his life?

Alannah Collins has some secrets that her tougher than nails exterior desires to hide.  Going toe-to-toe with the attractive Niccolo Da Conti is one that she is desperately trying to conceal.  However, he pushes the limits on those boundaries, and Alannah can’t refuse his offer for her future, but at what cost?

Christmas in Da Conti’s Bed is a fast-paced, page turning hoot that kept me glued to my Fire until the last page was reached.  It’s Sharon Kendrick at her finest with the old school HP that we’ve come to enjoy.

Alannah was tough, and she didn’t quite give in to the playboy right away.  In fact, one of my favorite scenes was when he pretty much objectified her in Christmas in Da Conti’s Bed and he knew it, so he endeavored to make it better!  Niccolo got everything wrong with his double standard bit, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him squirm slightly in Christmas in Da Conti’s Bed.  He wanted someone whom he thought was less than perfect, and he didn’t really like that she didn’t exactly follow his commands either.

I enjoyed that Alannah was strong enough to try and carry on, but that Niccolo was man enough to step up and proved that he truly knew her in Christmas in Da Conti’s Bed.

Christmas in Da Conti’s Bed was reminiscent of the HPs I have come to thoroughly enjoy.  So I Joyfully Recommend Christmas in Da Conti’s Bed, and I hope to keep it on my keeper shelf, as well.
