The fate of millions of lives hangs in the balance in this new Psy-Changeling Trinity novel from New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh…

Kidnapped as a young girl, her psychic powers harnessed by a madman, Memory lives a caged and isolated existence…until she comes face-to-face with a wolf. Labelled an empath by her bad-tempered rescuer, Memory knows that her ‘gift’ is nothing so bright. It is a terrible darkness that means she will always be hunted.

But Memory is free now and she intends to live. A certain growly wolf can just deal with it.

Alexei prefers to keep his packmates at bay, the bleak history of his family a constant reminder that mating, love, hope is not for him. But Memory, this defiant and fearless woman who stands toe-to-toe with him awakens the most primal part of his nature—and soon, he must make a choice: risk everything or lose Memory to a murderous darkness that wants to annihilate her from existence…

Alexei Vasiliey Harte is one of the Snow Dancer Lieutenants. Once a lighthearted person, his entire personality underwent a change when his brother went rouge and had to be killed.  Now Alexei waits for what he believes the next part of a family curse will be.  One day he heard a sound in the woods so sad and painful and follows it to find the source. Alexei can tell that whoever is projecting this sound is powerful and deeply in pain and grief.  What he doesn’t expect to find is a young woman Psy caged in Snow Dancer land.  Memory Aven-Rose watched as a madman killed her mother and then kidnapped her and has held Memory ever since.  What Memory didn’t understand until she got older was why this happened.  Memory’s only joy growing up as a captive has been a pet, which just died after many years of companionship. Her pain and grief is so huge she can’t hold it in and lets it out into the world.  When Alexei suddenly shows up in her “home” Memory can only deal with her grief at first.

Alexei quickly learns what made Memory so special and is determined to help her fully escape the madman who kidnapped her so long ago and to learn about her gift.  Memory struggles to accept just what her Psy gift is with Alexei’s help and those others with her type of gift.  The real struggle at least for Alexei is that his wolf knows exactly who Memory is to them and Alexei is fighting it believing he doesn’t get a chance at a true loving future.  As Alexei and Memory work together to free her from the darkness of her childhood and to learn just where she fits in her designation, they are also falling deeply in love.  When all the answers are found, it seems truly freeing Memory is going to be easier than Alexei overcoming his fear of what his future will be.  Can Memory’s love and the love and support of his pack help Alexei step into the golden love just waiting for him?

Wolf Raingives Alexei not only his mate, but the faith to believe he has a future with his mate.  Wow, what a journey Memory and Alexei have before they can just be together.  Their attraction is there from the first and the passion soon follows.  I absolutely loved how they fought together and for each other when needed.  I also loved how we saw both sides of being an E-Psy.  All creation has a light and dark side, so I was happy to see the dark side of them also and how they still helped ease the mind.  I always wondered what type of mate Alexei would end up with and Memory more than meets my expectations on just who Alexei needed.  Wolf Rainhas shot up to one of my favorite Psy-Changeling books.  There is so much going on that makes it a rich and multilayered story.  I just have to Joyfully Recommend it as a must read.

SAY NO TO THE DUKE by Eloisa James

SAY NO TO THE DUKE by Eloisa James

SAY NO TO THE DUKE by Eloisa JamesSay No to the Duke by Eloisa James Series: Wildes of Lindow Castle #4

Avon

One little wager will determine their fate—a daring escape or falling into temptation with a rakish lord.

Lady Betsy Wilde’s first season was triumphant by any measure, and a duke has proposed—but before marriage, she longs for one last adventure.

No gentleman would agree to her scandalous plan—but Lord Jeremy Roden is no gentleman. He offers a wager. If she wins a billiards game, he’ll provide the breeches.

If he wins…she is his, for one wild night.

But what happens when Jeremy realizes that one night will never be enough? In the most important battle of his life, he’ll have to convince Betsy to say no to the duke.

Lady Betsy Wilde’s first season was a smashing success and all of society loves the image of a perfectly proper lady she presents. But there’s one type of man she hasn’t netted a proposal from: a duke.  Then one comes along, the nice, proper sort of future duke Betsy knows she should marry.  There is just one problem…one very grumpy, unruly, deeply wounded problem: her brother’s best friend, Lord Jeremy Roden.

Jeremy came back from war a changed man.  Haunted by the past, he knows he’s not suited for Betsy. But their verbal sparring sparks life in him for the first time and Jeremy can’t seem to stay away.  It’s not long before he’s falling for Betsy, the realBetsy that not many see, the wild, bold woman she keeps hidden.  But Betsy has a life planned out for herself, one that includes marrying the ideal duke. Can Jeremy convince her to say no the duke and yes to a man with a scarred but loving heart?

Say No to the Dukeis by turns playful, sensual, heartbreaking, and hopeful.  Eloisa James’s fourth Wildes of Lindow Castle tale is so engaging that I devoured it in one sitting.  Betsy and Jeremy just grabbed my heart from the first page and didn’t let go.

Betsy, the oldest daughter of the Wilde brood, carries a hidden fear: that she will be judged by society because of her mother’s actions.  Her mother created a scandal when she abandoned her husband and children to run away with her Prussian lover.  Betsy’s teenage years were spent shaping a demure, perfect façade to prove that she’s nothing like her mother.  Society takes her at face value, but Jeremy easily sees beneath the surface.  He sees the fire and passion Betsy hides and he needles it out of her in hidden moments that make the first part of this book snap and sparkle.  I loved watching Betsy come into her own and embrace the part of herself she keeps hidden. She’s a bright, wonderful heroine who charmed the heck out of me.  As for Jeremy, he’s a war hero who sees himself as anything but.  He has PTSD and though falling for Betsy doesn’t cure it, the entire Wilde family’s care and acceptance of him gives him the support and time to start to heal.  Jeremy is also quick, incredibly observant, and not afraid to shake things up.  Both of them need to learn self-acceptance, and their personal journeys are fantastic.  As a couple, they make my heart sing.  Sparks fly between them for the first part of the book and I didn’t think it could get any better.  But when they give into their attraction Say No to the Dukeshines.  Jeremy and Betsy’s romance is sensual, playful, and heartwarming.  I just loved it.

Say No to the Duke can be read as a standalone if you don’t mind some spoilers from previous Wildes of Lindow Castle books.  The Wilde family is quite large and vivacious, but though I love them all I was glad Ms. James kept the supporting cast of this book rather small.  It allowed the focus to remain on Betsy and Jeremy while still adding some Wilde sparkle, mostly in the form of Aunt Knowe, a character so awesome I wish she were my aunt.  I can’t think of anything I didn’t love about Say No to the Duke.  It’s a fast-paced, utterly addictive story with engaging, well-rounded characters, a refreshing lack of false drama, and a romance that made me smile.  Joyfully Recommended!

HARD RIDING COWBOY by Stacey Kennedy

HARD RIDING COWBOY by Stacey KennedyHard-Riding Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy

Swerve

Megan Harrison is the owner of Kinky Spurs. She’s mortgaged up to her eyeballs and works long days and nights, but she’s living life on her terms, not on her wealthy father’s. She’s done being in the cattle rancher’s shadow. She’s got it all figured out, except for the part that involves Nash Blackshaw. He’s a sexy as hell cowboy whose smile can easily charm her out of her tight jeans. The only problem is—their fathers were business rivals, and Megan and Nash have been taught to hate each other since birth.

Nash Blackshaw, a retired professional bull rider, has responsibilities on top of responsibilities. With his PBR career over due to back injury, and his focus narrowed on heading up the Blackshaw Cattle Company’s Guest Ranch, he shouldn’t have time to think about all the ways he wants Megan. But it’s all he thinks of around the sassy and sweet woman. She might be forbidden to him, but Nash wants to take her for a hard, kinky ride.

But small towns have a way of spreading gossip like wildfire, and not everyone is happy about their relationship. Especially when Megan drops a bombshell on Nash after one heated night between them. As much as Megan and Nash want to forget the old feud between their fathers and lose each other in explosive passion, they can’t escape reality. They are meant to be enemies, and Nash’s sizzling, dominant touch might not be enough to keep them together.

Megan Harrison makes her living by owning a bar known for its sexy games and fun loving atmosphere. While Megan promotes the illusion of sex, personally Megan does her best to not give in to her lust for one sexy cowboy she grew up with.  Especially since his family and her father can’t stand each other.  Nash Blackshaw is one of the Blackshaw brothers trying to save their family ranch by opening up a guest ranch.  Nash’s job is to be the face of the ranch as an ex pro bull rider who was at the top before an accident which resulted in a spinal injury happened and ended his career.  Nash agreed to be the face of the ranch for now while he decides what to do with his life. One great thing about being home is Megan, a woman he has wanted pretty much forever.

On the night of his brother’s wedding, Megan and Nash give into their feelings for a one night stand. Sparks flew and both their worlds were rocked, but they went their separate ways afterwards.  However, it seems that date has other ideas on Megan and Nash’s future.  When an unexpected consequence is revealed, both Megan and Nash need to come together and blaze a new path.  That won’t be easy as at the same time accidents are happening at the guest ranch. The kind meant to close the ranch and end the Blackshaw’s hope of saving their home.  And worse of all for Nash and Megan’s relationship, all things are pointing to her father being involved. Can Nash and Megan have a loving future together or will the gate between her father and the Blackshaw ‘s ruin everything before it has a chance?

Hard-Riding Cowboyfinally brings Nash and Megan together after all their smoldering heat in the previous books.  I believe that how they were made to face their differences and feelings is the only way it would have happened.  I have to say I loved watching them dance around each other even after their night of passion. I also enjoyed following the clues on what was going on at the guest ranch and who was behind it.  I figured out one person but not everyone involved. I loved Nash and Megan’s story and thought it was a great way to end the Blackshaw’s brothers’ journey into love. Hard-Riding Cowboyis a fun story with a bit of suspense that is perfect for an afternoon getaway to escape life for a few hours.

Harper Collins

An inheritance she never expected…

After serving time for a crime she didn’t commit, Evangeline returns home to discover her father left her solely responsible for the family’s failing ranch, her mother blames her for her father’s death, and her brothers want her out of their way. With her family’s future squarely on her shoulders, she desperately searches for ways to save their home—before they lose everything.

A chance to right past mistakes…

Her only ally, Chris Chambers. The cop who sent her away is positive she took the fall for someone else. And if she helps him track down the real criminals, he’ll clear her record. But the closer Evangeline and Chris get to exposing the truth—and to each other—the deeper Evangeline is drawn into a dangerous sting that will finally bring her justice and pave the way for a bright future.

Love, Betrayal, Family and Second Chances have never been so good.

Jennifer Ryan’s The Me I Used to Beis a beautiful piece of storytelling.  Ryan has not only given readers a wonderful romance but an emotional, complicated and thrilling ride throughout the pages of The Me I Used to Be.  I wasn’t sure at first if this story was for me.  It is not something I’m used to from Ms. Ryan but I’m so happy I had the opportunity to read it. I was enraptured from page one.  There were times the emotion between the characters was so powerfully explosive I would find myself holding my breath.

Evangeline has been dealt a crappy hand so far.  She’s been in prison for something she didn’t do and the key to her release is the man that put her there to begin with.  She reluctantly agrees to Chris’ terms of her release.  Unfortunately, Evangeline’s father has passed away and her family isn’t exactly receptive to her return and things don’t improve when they discover Evangeline is now in charge of the family farm. As if she didn’t have enough to deal with Evangeline must also help Chris.

Chris Chambers now believes Evangeline innocent and is determined to help her prove it whether she likes it or not.  Their chemistry is absolutely explosive. They make an unlikely duo but as they say opposites attract.  Can they prove her innocence without getting killed in the process?

The Me I Used to Beis a Joyfully Recommended Read.  I couldn’t get enough of this immense drama.  Evangeline and Chris are smart and strong characters.  They have so many intense layers. It’s so entertaining discovering more about them.  The Me I Used to Beis an excellent summer read.

Cimarron County knows the youngest son of the fabled Prince family as a womanizing hell-raiser, but Luca has changed and he intends to prove it. There's just one problem—a woman with sparkling eyes and more fight than a barnyard cat.

She recognizes a playboy cowboy when she sees one.

Ella Kendall’s life has been one of hardship. Her mother’s in prison and she bounced from foster home to foster home throughout her youth.  But Ella finally has a place to call her own.  Her grandmother left her a small home in the middle of the vast acreage known to belong to the infamous Prince family. Ella is quite familiar with the Princes’ from the outside.  After all, Luca Prince was her first crush.  She spent her high school years yearning for his attention.

Ella and Luca crashed into each other’s life with intense passion.  Will they be able to fall in love when neither has ever felt it before?

Julia London’s The Charmer in Chaps is a sweet and sexy southern romance filled with interesting characters, sensitive storylines and a heady love story. I enjoyed taking this journey with such complex characters as Ella and Luca.  Ella has a wall around her heart and Luca has never tried to have a relationship before.  They are both in unsteady waters trying to maneuver without getting hurt. Unfortunately, the thing about love is if it can’t hurt you in some way it’s not worth it.  I feel like these two went to war with self-doubt and many other insecurities.  It was beautiful to watch as these two learned how to love themselves and each other.

The Charmer in Chaps is a heartfelt read that will leave you sighing with happiness and wondering what will happen next with these unique characters. I Joyfully Recommend The Charmer in Chaps!
