The world is no longer as we know if after all known conveniences and governments were destroyed after the world was bombarded by the Flares.  Now things are run by corporations and its a serious divide of the haves and the have nots.  Another thing that these corporations have done is mess with humans, with technology, and new science.  As such not everyone is what or who you think they are.  It’s in this world that Nina and her roommates (and best friends) are living in.

Nina is an information broker who uses anything and everything she can lay her hands on to help the helpless in an America that barely struggles along.  Nina and her roommates are know as mercenary librarians and they are as deadly as that sounds, if needed to be.  When Nina is approached with job that could possibly get them access to part of the Rogue Library of Congress she agrees to the job as that knowledge would be priceless to obtain.

Garrett Knox, known as Knox, is the Captain of the Sun Devils, he is trying to pull his team out of the job of taking care of anyone TechCorps wants to be disciplined in some way.  The major problem with this is that once your are part of these teams, the only way to leave is death.  Another is that the teams have been biologically changed and the medication they need to keep them alive is strictly produced and protected by TechCorps.  The team is basically on a countdown towards their own death unless they can get access to this medication.

Knox has one way to get the access he needs to this life saving medication and it involves turning Nina over to someone he doesn’t know.  Getting Nina to agree to the job was one thing, but as he gets to know her better, Knox knows he can’t do it. Nina and Knox are becoming involved but both have secrets they’re keeping from the other.  Just when they both are ready to tell the other the first of their secrets, the group is ambushed by the person who wants Nina.  It’s going to take trust in several areas if everyone is going to come out alive at the end.

When the world has been shaken upside down and only partially put back together, Nina and Knox find each other but only their smarts, fast actions and trust will allow them to find a future together.  I was fascinated by this new world that Kit Rocha provided.  At first I did not see how Nina and Knox could ever overcome all that was between them to get together.  But the twists, turns and a few OMG surprises showed me that not only could they become a couple but that they could continue to help the helpless and prevent the corporations from destroying what was left of civilization.  I seriously can’t wait for the next mercenary librarians book. There were so many loose threads that were left dangling.  Deal with the Devil has many surprises and just learning about this new world had me engaged from the first page and then Nina and Knox pulled me along as their story rolled out.

Leslie North’s The Tycoon’s Convenient Bride is a sweet and sexy read. A tropical vacation leads to a blistering relationship filled with a special surprise, speedy wedding and an HEA. Billionaire Anthony Charles Harrington V travels to Fiji to come to terms with the path his life is headed down.  He’s 32 and according the family he must marry and produce an heir by 33. When he goes home he must enter an arranged marriage.  Nurse Diana Tinsley is in Fiji on a relief mission. One misunderstanding leads to the hottest week of her life! Fast Forward two months and Tony opens the door of his castle to discover Diana…two months pregnant.

Tony and Diana sizzle as they reignite the passion between them but both are uncertain about their future.  Their journey is fun and angsty. I enjoyed these two characters. They dealt with emotions as I can imagine a lot would in the situation. The Tycoon’s Convenient Bride is a great short read. It will keep you interested until the end. I was able to read in one sitting. If you are a fan of instalove and surprise babies you will most likely enjoy Leslie North’s The Tycoon’s Convenient Bride.

Former thief turned all-star realtor Serena Metcalf is at the top of her game. She’s about to land her biggest client to date when her life is turned upside-down as her past comes back to haunt her. Serena has no one to turn to except the man that broke her heart, Milo Baxter.

When Serena’s sister is abducted she and Milo are given a very short amount of time to commit the heist of a lifetime. The Last Heist is a swift moving romantic suspense. Milo and Serena have a sexy attraction. Their connection is completely alive and the suspense is great in the beginning. For some reason it wasn’t able to hold my attention throughout the entire book. Perhaps because of their situation and the things they were being asked to do were preposterous. I wanted to like this so bad but it was just a little too obvious who the culprit would turn out to be.

Investigative Journalist Phoebe Danvers finds herself in a bit of hot water. It’s a good thing former FBI Agent turned PI Huxley Carson has his eyes on her. Author Hope Jones’ Surrendering to Him begins quickly with feisty banter between the hero and heroine as well as suspense.

I was really into their story at first.  Phoebe and Huxley share plenty of chemistry but unfortunately somewhere in the middle things began to fizzle and lost my attention. I usually like instalove but something about Huxley’s control of the situation and the way he treated Phoebe like they were already together. It was too much too soon. I found myself more eager to read the suspense parts than the actual romance part of the story.

Rick and Candace are back and ready for more drama in Savage Burn.  I can’t get enough of this couple. I’m obsessed with the palpable tension between them. Rick and Candace set every scene on FIRE! The stakes have only gotten higher for the couple in Savage Burn. Danger is lurking around every corner. It seems like Rick and Candace’s enemies has only multiplied.

Savage Burn is full of twists. You may think you know what is going to happen, but Lisa Renee Jones is great at throwing the reader curve balls.  I love being surprised and the Savage series has brought many.  This is my first series from the author therefore I didn’t know any of the men from Walker Security, but I have now picked up their books because I adore them. The banter between them brings the right amount of light moments in Savage Burn.

The sexual chemistry is still high between Rick and Candace, but the emotional quotient is a hundred times higher.  The couple has reunited, confessed their love and determination to get through their current woes but the fear remains high. Rick is afraid Candace will leave him if she learns everything about him and Candace is afraid Rick will leave her to protect her. Now, we all know fear only leads to bad decisions.

The second book in the Savage trilogy takes the reader on an emotional, suspense filled roller coaster. Rick and Candace are a special couple and I’m dying to know what happens to them.  The ending of Savage Burn is quite the cliffhanger. It’s one of those moments where you think “oh sh*t” when you realize it’s the last page and you’re going to have to wait for months for the final book.

Savage Burn is a MUST read! I love Rick and Candace and can’t wait to find out what will happen next!
