After reading Unbuttoning the CEO I knew right away I was going to have to read One Night with the CEO. Normally CEO romance books aren’t on the top of my list to read for the simple fact that the majority of them sound the same but Mia Sosa brings a fresh voice to these sexy men in the three piece suits.

One Night with the CEO is the second book in The Suits Undone series and it features Karen, who is Graciela’s sister and Mark who happens to be Ethan’s best friend. Karen heads out with her sister and her sisters friend Mimi to celebrate graduating college and getting into med school. While the ladies are enjoying themselves drinking and dancing Karen’s sister invites her fiancé and his friend to come to meet them so she can share the news of where the wedding will be held. On the way to the bathroom a drunk Karen runs into a very hard body that is attached to an attractive man, Mark.

Mark and Karen hit it off right away but when Mark finds out that Karen is Graciela’s younger sister he knows he has to stay away from her. Of course this isn’t going to be easy because they are all headed down to Puerto Rico for the wedding. The closer Mark and Karen become the more they begin to want one another but with starting med school Karen doesn’t have time to date. When this causal relationship starts to grow into something more, the two of them have to decide if they can make it work or stop their causal affair now.

From the very beginning I liked Karen. She was bold, driven, funny and just seemed like the type of person I would want to be friends with. Mark on the other hand wasn’t the typical CEO type that I have read about in the past. He was charming, fun, had a little arrogance but was really down to earth. The moment he met Karen you can tell he was interested but he backed off in order not to make it messy for his friend and her sister. These two plan on becoming and just staying friends but once they take it to the bedroom oh boy does it get hot and they often say sometimes friends become the best lovers and I think that happened to these two characters. While fighting their attraction and desire they really did start to build a foundation for a friendship.

The one issue I had was with Mark’s problem with their age difference. It was mentioned so many times I honestly got tired of hearing about it. While Mark was finally getting ready to get in the frame of mind to settle down, Karen just wanted to have some fun. But you know what they say about the best made plans and that’s what happened with these two but in the end I’m so glad they ended up working things out.

I loved the change of scenery that Ms. Sosa brought to One Night with the CEO. Puerto Rico was the perfect place for this couple to have fun and get to know one another better. Also the descriptions were to die for and made me feel as if I was there along with them.

The secondary characters brought some excitement to this story. Mimi was a barrel of laughs and I honestly am looking forward to her story. I just hope Ms. Sosa keeps her as funny and outspoken as she has been. The way her and Daniel butt heads there must be more of a story there and I can’t wait to read it! Overall, One Night with the CEO was a fulfilling read that I would tell all my friends to check out because these CEO’s are yummy and not like the others.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, well at least in Twilight, Texas it is. In the previous book, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Katie Cheek and Gabi Preston swap houses for the holidays and I’m so glad Lori Wilde is giving her readers the other side of the swap in A Wedding for Christmas. I may have only started this series with the pervious story but The Twilight, Texas series is becoming one of my favorite series by Ms. Wilde, especially the Christmas stories.

A Wedding for Christmas shows the other side of the house swap from the previous book, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, and while Katie Cheek is in L.A. the last person she expects to run into is her brother’s best friend and her former childhood crush, Ryder Southerland. When Ryder tackles her thinking she is the stalker of his client it quickly brings back the memory of her first kiss with him. After things get hot and steamy the next morning she leaves and heads back home only to be haunted by that wonderful night that she will never forget. Katie has no hopes of seeing Ryder again since he hasn’t been back in thirteen years but a year later her brother, Joe is getting married to Gabi and Ryder is the best man opposite to her maid of honor. She can act normal around him, right?

Ryder is back in Twilight, Texas after thirteen years. After losing his mother at a young age and his father kicking him out at sixteen he had no reason to come back to the same place who labeled him the town’s bad boy. His Father is losing the ranch and Ryder thinks it might be time to move on from the past and his best friend Joe is getting married and he can deny it all he wants but he is looking forward to seeing Katie again. He doesn’t regret what happened between them a year ago and if he’s honest with himself he hopes it will happen again, but when Katie ignored his calls and texts he decides to let it be. Will Twilight, Texas become his home again or is returning to L.A. what he really wants?

I absolutely adore little sister falls in love with brothers best friend stories. There is something very sweet and romantic about them that just draws me in every time. While this trope has been done over and over again it never gets old for me. At first I didn’t think Katie and Ryder had much chemistry since they were both holding back, but once they were around each other more frequently I could see the feelings they were keeping hidden.

In every story I usually find myself favoring one character and for A Wedding for Christmas that character was Ryder. He had such a sad childhood my heart broke for him over and over again. I wanted to reach out and just hug him, but I was glad Katie was the one he ended up with and not because they have been friends forever but because she helped put him back together so to speak.

There were a few things in the beginning that had me trying to figure out how the ending would go and of course it went that way then Ms. Wilde surprised me on the turn of events and where she took these characters.

When I’m in the mood for a heartwarming story Ms. Wilde is one of my go to authors. A Wedding for Christmas was truly a delightful read and has me wanting to start the Twilight, Texas series from the very beginning. This sweet yet heartwarming story will lift your spirits and get you in the holiday mood.

One Snowy Night by Jill Shalvis is a sweet little Christmas novella that adds to the Heartbreaker Bay series. We met Rory and Max in the previous story but I found not knowing what their whole deal was a little on the annoying side so thankfully Ms. Shalvis decided to give us their story.

Rory had a tough childhood and left home only to end up in San Francisco, where her boss Willa finds her and gives her a chance. Over the years Rory has promised she would return home only to have her family disappointed in her but this year is different. Not only is Rory in charge of picking up her mother’s gift but she is determined to make it back home no matter what, but what she doesn’t expect is that her old crush Max would be taking her home and along for the ride is his loveable dog, Carl.

I really enjoyed getting to know more about Max and Rory. Their past of knowing one another is something I didn’t expect but the way Ms. Shalvis told it made it worth the read. These two characters both went through some life changing moments that go back to their high school days and when the subject is brought up on the drive to drop Rory off it really had me hoping these two would finally get everything out in the open and work it out.

One thing I did miss in this novella were the previous characters that have been introduced but I do have a feeling Rory and Max will be making some appearances in the next story, Accidently on Purpose which is due out early next year.

Do you have to read One Snowy Night along with the previous books in the Heartbreaker Bay series? No, but you won’t want to miss out on this novella that will have you believing in second chances and gets you in the mood for the holidays. Overall, I really enjoyed One Snowy Night and I can’t wait to read more of this series.

I have never read a book by B.J. Daniels before but when I read the blurb for Honor Bound I thought it sounded like a book right up my alley. I had no idea I was starting on the sixth book in The Montana Hamiltons series and I figured I could just jump right in and not feel lost but that wasn’t the case for Honor Bound.

The oldest daughter to presidential candidate Buckmaster Hamilton, Ainsley has always been the responsible child out of her siblings. While scouting out locations for a commercial she has come to realize that she has a stalker who has been following her for months. His presence leaves her feeling vulnerable and yet she still can’t shake the feelings coursing through her. While checking out a spot for the production company she feels he’s there but when a rock slide happens she couldn’t be more grateful that a handsome cowboy has saved her life but what Ainsley doesn’t realize is that this is just the beginning of what is about to come.

Sawyer Nash is on medical leave from the FBI after being hurt on his last job, he’s bored out of his mind but isn’t cleared for active duty yet. As a favor to the Sheriff he has offered to keep an eye on Ainsley. When he shows up on location they mistake him as an extra and Sawyer decides to go with it since it will be easier to keep her in his sights. The more time he spends with her the more his feelings grow, but when things start happening around the ranch he will do anything to keep her safe including blowing his cover even though she might end up hating him in the end.

This is one of those series that should be started from the beginning as I said before. While this story was new and gave hints on what happened in the previous books I still didn’t get the full effect of what was going on or what this family had been through prior to Honor Bound. There were two different stories going on that kind of mushed together towards the end but it turned out they weren’t connected.

As far as the characters go I liked them but it was hard getting a read on them and their feelings. Sawyer and Ainsley didn’t spend that much time together yet they were falling in love which I didn’t completely understand. There was literally one date and for me one date doesn’t say “hey come fall in love with me now”. Another issue I had was there were too many people having voices throughout the story. Not only was it Sawyer and Ainsley, but Sawyer’s ex-girlfriend/undercover FBI agent, Ainsley’s mother and father, the stalker, and so on. Was this why the romance portion was cut short? I believe so. Yes, so much was going on in Honor Bound but I didn’t need to hear from everyone every single time.

I also found this story to have a lot of drama, I swear if it wasn’t the stalker, it was a murder and jewelry thieves. Don’t even get me started on Sawyer’s ex-girlfriend who drugs him with sleeping pills so he misses a date. For a FBI agent she was crazy and they should have taken her badge for the shit she pulled. Not only did it stop Sawyer from doing his job, that she knew about mind you, but also put Ainsley in danger.

Overall, I found Honor Bound just an okay read. Would I have felt different if I read the previous five books in this series? Maybe, but I don’t think so. As far as series goes I will have to pass on going back and starting The Montana Hamiltons from the very beginning.

Do you love Toni Aleo’s Nashville Assassins series as much I do? Well you won’t want to miss Boarded by Love, the first book in her new spin off series, Bellevue Bullies and you guessed it, it’s about Phillip’s niece Claire Anderson. She is no longer the sourly teenager we met in Breaking Away. Claire is now a college woman with the whole world ahead of her, including catching the eye of campus playboy and team captain, Jude Sinclair.

Claire still has trust issues because of her past, which doesn’t always cause her to make the best decisions, but the support she gets from Phillip and Reese really help her along. She has tested them in many ways to make sure they would always love and support her. She finally realizes that no matter how she acts out, they are a family and will stand by one another.

I have to be honest, the only reason I wanted to read Boarded by Love was to see how Claire turned out. I know that might not be a reason to read a book but I liked her and was hoping she would find love and be a successful dancer. Some spin off series are really hit or miss with me but to my surprise I ended up really enjoying Boarded by Love. I was completely satisfied with how Aleo had the story play out. Plus, hello!, more hockey players was also an added bonus.

Jude and Claire go from zero to sixty in like 4.5 seconds … okay maybe it takes a little longer but the moment they catch each other’s eye it’s definitely a game changer for the both of them. They have spectacular chemistry and I just loved how they came together. While Jude was a player on and off the ice, I thoroughly enjoyed how completely smitten he was with Claire from the very beginning.

While the romance blooms with Jude and Claire, it was a bit rushed for me. Toni fleshed out these characters so well that I felt their emotions and could “see” all the happenings as if I was there. What I really liked was although there was a little drama, which is always needed in a good romance, the secret was the big issue. Not only was Claire keeping a secret from her family but she was also keeping it from her new boyfriend. I knew when the secret came out, things could go either way, it was swoon worthy when Jude finally comes to his senses.

Boarded by Love is a very emotional story, so much that I was totally tearing up at certain moments as well-being equally humorous. When Phillip and Jude met was very funny and of course since Phillip pretty much raised Claire, I felt how protective he was of her. Jude handled the situation well and really won me over in that scene. Jude respects Phillip but is also falling for Claire and wants to stand by her and her decisions. Seeing Phillip like that was different since when he was introduced into the Assassins series he was a player and the fun guy, now he is all settled down being the father that Claire needs.

I believe the whole point of a spin off series is to have some guest appearances by previous characters. While there were numerous ones that did appear from previous Assassins books, I was happy to catch up with the ones that did make special appearances. Phillip and Reese finally tie the knot and do it Assassins style with the whole team there to help support them. One of the cutest moments is when Jude is sitting next to Shea and threatens that if he ever hurts Claire he will have the entire hockey team out to get him. They were one big happy family and I loved it!

Boarded by Love strongly starts the Bellevue Bullies series off and I’m excited for Jude’s bothers and his sister upcoming stories. Yes, each of them will be getting their own story! I fist bumped at that news, because not only do we get more hot men, but more hockey! The Sinclair’s are definitely an interesting group and I’m hoping the series gets even better as more Bellevue Bullies books are released.
