Joyfully Reviewed is happy to welcome Author Dee J. Adams and her latest release IMMINENT DANGER! I would like to apologize to Ms. Adams. This post was supposed to go up last week but because of technical difficulties while on vacation I was unable to get the post on our blog. In honor of her release I will be giving away a copy of IMMINENT DANGER to one lucky commenter!
For Abbey Washington, dancing is more than a dream, it’s a way to forget her past. But being at the wrong place at the wrong time makes her the sole witness to a stabbing and brings back horrible memories. Since the killers saw her just as clearly as she saw them, Abbey is now a loose end that needs to be tied up.
Blake St. John is working toward his PI license and hopes to find the man who hurt his brother in a kidnapping. He quit chasing his quiet co-worker, Abbey, months ago. But now that she needs protection, he takes on the role of bodyguard and all the feelings he tried to bury for her come back with a vengeance.
Abbey’s past makes it hard to trust and an attempt on her life forces her to realize that time is running out as the killers get closer. Now, she must risk it all or face a life without the one man who showed her how to love.

Please tell us a bit about your latest release.
Imminent Danger is about finding personal strength and learning to trust. It’s about overcoming the helplessness of being a victim and standing strong despite fear.
Abbey Washington suffered a traumatic event that changed her life. Quiet and shy, Abbey’s one love is dancing. When she dances, she can forget everything but the music and the moves. Witnessing a brutal stabbing makes her the target of killers and Abbey will have to come out of her shell if she wants to survive.
Blake St. John has grown tired of waiting for Abbey to notice him, but when her life is on the line, he can’t help but want to protect her. Keeping her alive becomes his number one priority and if he can sneak beneath her defenses and draw out the woman inside then that’s even better.
As the killers get closer, Abbey learns to trust Blake. But her newfound boldness might be too little too late when murderers close in for the kill.
Are you attending any conventions in 2014? If so, what are the top three reasons as to why you like/choose them?
I participated in Barbara Vey’s Reader Appreciation Luncheon last April in Wisconsin and I also attended the RWA National Conference in San Antonio in July. I had an amazing weekend in Milwaukee because it was great meeting so many readers! I’m thrilled to be going back in 2015! As far as the national convention, it’s awesome to connect with other writers and old and new. And there’s a ton of valuable information to be passed along so it’s always worth the trip.
What is your favorite romance genre and what author makes you absolutely swoon?
I have to say that my favorite genre is romantic suspense. (I guess maybe that’s why I write it.) The authors that make me swoon… I’ll go with Linda Howard and Suzanne Brockmann as my top tier. But I love Cindy Gerard and Tara Janzen too.
What is your dream vacation spot?
Hawaii. Give me the sun and a margarita with an umbrella in it on the beach and I am in heaven!
What do you think has been the most important moment or event of your life so far? And why do you feel that way?
I’d have to say the birth of my daughter was pretty important. I hadn’t really thought about having kids so when she arrived, she really changed me. My focus turned to her and her well being and happiness. Honestly, if I hadn’t had a daughter, I might have given up writing before I was finally published. But I didn’t want her to see her mother fail, so I kept at it. I wanted to show her that if you want something, you can’t ever quit going for it. Having her in my life turned out to be a game changer for my future.
Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?
Well… I pretty much spewed the most important thing in that last question. LOL. I guess the one thing I’d like readers to know is that although Imminent Danger is the fifth book in the Adrenaline Highs series it is a stand alone so if they haven’t read any of the other books in the series, they won’t be confused when they read this one.
Boxers or Brief
Neither… I like Boxer/briefs. (I like the combo kind!)
Manscape or Not
Hm… It kind of depends… but I lean toward manscape.
Lights On or Lights Off
Summer or Winter
Peanuts or Chocolate
Batman or Superman
The Voice or American Idol
Christmas or Birthday
Heels or Flats
Talk or Text
Action Movie or Comedy
I want comedy in my action movie!! (This is like the first question. It’s a combo! I can’t pick one over the other.)
