Author: Adrienne Giordano
Publisher: Harlequin Intrigue
Release Date: July 1, 2015
Genre: Romantic Suspense
She’s captured his heart…and the attention of a murderer.
Injured homicide detective Brodey Hayward needs a distraction, and he finds it as a consultant on a cold case murder. When Brodey’s investigation delays plans to remodel the former crime scene, he uncovers another kind of distraction: spirited Lexi Vanderbilt. Despite her distrust of men, Brodey charms the alluring interior designer into helping him examine the case facts.
Working closely with the ultrasexy detective helps Lexi lower her guard, igniting a passion that even Chicago’s winter can’t cool. As they close in on the killer, Lexi becomes his new target. To save her, Brodey must either betray her trust—or risk losing Lexi forever.
Please tell us a bit about your latest release.
I have three this month! That’s a first for me and I’m so excited. In order of release I have The Detective, my next Harlequin Intrigue and Exposing Justice, a romantic suspense and book three in the Justice series that I co-write with Misty Evans. The Detective is another cold case story involving the law firm of Hennings & Solomon. In this book, passion ignites when an ambitious interior designer teams up with a hardened homicide detective to catch a murderer. Exposing Justice features Brice Brennan (secondary character in Cheating Justice) as the hero and Hope Denby, a public information assistant for the United States Supreme Court. Brice and Hope team up to figure out if the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was murdered or accidentally killed in a road rage incident. Misty likes to call this book Scandal meets Person of Interest.
Are you attending any conventions in 2015? If so, what are the top three reasons as to why you like/choose them?
At the end of the month I will be attending the Romance Writers of America conference. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve attended and I’m looking forward to filling up on some great writing workshops. I’m constantly in learning mode when it comes to the craft of writing so three days of workshops is a little bit of heaven. Right now, that’s the only big conference I’m scheduled to attend.
What is your favorite romance sub-genre?
Romantic suspense! I also like contemporaries, but suspense is my first love.
What is your dream vacation spot?
Italy is on my bucket list, but I want to go when I have a few weeks to really explore. With a teenager in travel sports, that’s not really an option right now. It’ll happen though. I’m determined. The one place I love to go is Sanibel Island in Florida. For whatever reason, the minute I step onto Sanibel, I instantly relax. I love it there.
What do you think has been the most important moment or event of your life so far? And why do you feel that way?
Holy cow with the tough questions! Unfortunately, I think the most important event in my life is not a positive one. Last year my stepdaughter was involved in a fatal car accident and the shock and heartbreak that came with losing her taught me how quickly life can change. I realize now how much I took for granted before. I like to think I live my life differently now. I know I appreciate my loved ones more.

Self-Publishing: Yay or Nay? Yay! I’m a “hybrid” author right now because I work with a traditional publisher as well as indie pub some titles. I think it’s an amazing time to be a writer, and if done right, indie pubbing can be a great compliment to traditional publishing. Indie pubbing isn’t easy though and not for everyone. I put my indie pubbed titles through the same rigorous editing as my traditionally pubbed titles. In terms of quality, my goal is for my reader to not know the difference between my traditionally pubbed titles and my indie pubbed titles. There is also the business side (uploading books to retailers, formatting, etc.) of indie pubbing that needs attention and it sometimes gets overwhelming. It’s not for the faint of heart!
