Happy Release Day MATTER OF TIME!!
Some might think the phrase, “you complete me” is a just cheesy line from the movies, but Lizbeth Sanders knows better…
In MATTER OF TIME, Lizbeth has spent the past fifteen years desperately searching for someone to fill the void left by Logan Steele’s disappearance from her life. However, rather than finding love and happiness, all she’s found is disappointment, heartache, and an ever-present longing for the man she can never have.
Fifteen years ago, Logan Steele left the woman he loved to marry his high school sweetheart and be a father to the child he didn’t know he had. He’s always tried to do the honorable thing, to be a good husband and a great father, but despite his sacrifices and best efforts, the shaky foundation of his marriage crumbles and falls apart.
When his identical twin surprises him with a reintroduction to Lizbeth, Logan feels like he’s been given a second chance—at life and love. But a lot can change in fifteen years, and after hurting her so badly the first time, building trust isn’t just hard, it’s nearly impossible—especially when duty and obligation pulls him away again.

Silencing the phone so there wouldn’t be any more interruptions, he dropped it on the table and kicked back in the chair to enjoy the show. “From where I’m sitting, this view is a million times better than any sunrise or sunset from an ocean balcony.”
A grin spread across Lizbeth’s face as she turned her head and peered over her shoulder. “I’m glad you approve.”
“Definitely approve. Work that dress down over your hips, but don’t let it just fall to the floor. Bend over nice and slow and push it down your legs.”
Her dark eyes hooded and she nodded slightly as she slid her palms down her sides to bunch the fabric at her waist, then worked it back and forth down over her hips and thighs. Slowly, erotically, as he instructed, she bent forward at the waist and eased the fabric to the floor. And then she stayed just like that, letting him look his fill of her ass with a strip of red fabric from the tiny thong tucked between her cheeks, the backs of her legs wrapped with lace-topped thigh-high stockings, and her feet tipped forward in black fuck-me pumps.
How could it be that after taking her more times than possible to count, he still wanted her as badly as the second he laid eyes on her in the club?
“Crawl up onto the bed on your hands and knees with your legs spread apart.”
As she shivered in response, he checked the thermostat on the wall. It wasn’t cold in the room, so he assumed her tremor was one of excitement, and a thrill shot through him at yet another validation of her being happy to follow the orders he enjoyed giving.
They’d had enough conversation about their future to know they both intended to fight for it, but they hadn’t figured out the details yet. She lived at the coast. He lived in Charlotte. On a good traffic day, they were looking at a four and a half-hour trip. His business kept him busy and on the road far more than he liked. She ran a business, as well. His business was established in Charlotte, and while it seemed like a good opportunity for her to move to a large metropolis with unlimited opportunities for an event planner, he wondered if he was selfish to ask.
And what about the kids? He could never leave Charlotte as long as they lived there, and he couldn’t ask them to uproot their lives. Especially not when their mother lived there as well.
Fuck. Why did life have to always be so damned complicated and full of twists and curves?
“Why did I think you would join me on this bed?” Lizbeth asked, breaking into his thoughts and bringing his mind back down from the higher realms of thinking, where plans for the future resided, to the basic, primal thoughts that had propelled men for all of eternity.
His woman—hell yeah, he could really get used to that—was on her hands and knees in the middle of the bed, waiting for him to claim her, and he was all up in his head when he should be all up in her.
Shaking off the fear and worry and concern for the future, he pushed out of the chair and stalked toward the bed. “I’m joining you all right.” He slapped his palm over her naked ass, causing her to jump and gasp with surprise, then moan with pleasure as he stroked the silky smooth globe. “Stay as you are and let me enjoy this view for a moment longer while I grab some toys.”

How did you research your novel, if applicable?
The only thing I really needed to research was the exact location of the old Pavilion Amusement Park in Myrtle Beach. We go to Myrtle Beach at least once a year, and I had a general ideal of where it had been, but not the exact address, or the side street that ran next to it. I also researched old theaters in Myrtle Beach. Pandora’s Playground is set in an old live-performance theater that has been restored for use as a kink club, so I tried to find old theaters to serve that purpose. I did find one and used its location as the location of Pandora’s, but I changed the exterior and interior descriptions to serve the needs of Pandora’s.
Where can readers find you online?
I spend a lot of time on Facebook… some might argue I’m on there too much! LOL I have two pages: my personal page is Facebook.com/AlannahLynne. My official page is Facebook.com/AuthorAlannahLynne. I have a twitter account, although I’m not on there often: Twitter.com/AlannahLynne. I post motivational and inspirational quotes and photos on Tsu: tsu.co/AlannahLynne. And I have a beautiful redesigned website: AlannahLynne.com
When you are stuck on something, what is your go to cure?
It depends on the time of year. If it’s warm outside, I’ll pull weeds or mow the grass. Getting lost in nature and enjoying the warm sunshine opens up my mind and I’m able to daydream and start seeing scenes again. If it’s cold, I’ll read for a few hours, or… my favorite… take a nap! My husband will walk into the bedroom and find me lying there and whisper, “Are you sleeping or working?” Sometimes working leads to napping, but most of the time, I’m able to get the characters to start talking to me again.
Do you have a real life hero? If so, can you tell us who and why?
My husband is my real-life hero, and there are so many reasons! He’s battled a brain tumor for the past seven and a half years, and he’s never—not one time—complained. Not through the three rounds of chemo (which consists of taking a pill, 5 days on/23 days off for a year!). Not through six and a half weeks of radiation, or the four years of Avastin infusions—sometimes once a month, sometimes every other week, depending on whether the tumor is in remission or growing again. He has constant headaches and fatigue and yet, he stays upbeat and positive and insists that we’re going to celebrate one hundred years of marriage together. And despite all he’s going through, he still treats me like a queen. In a recent conversation, my twenty-eight year old son (who was 5 when Hubs and I met) said, “I’ve had great role models for what true love looks like. If not for you guys, I’m not sure I would even believe love exists. But I see how you guys treat each other, and even though he feels bad so much of the time, he still does everything he can to take care of you.”
So yes… I definitely have a real life here! 🙂
Who is your favorite literary hero and heroine?
Oh my goodness… you want me to pick one?! LOL I was a late bloomer and didn’t discover romances until I was in my late thirties. The first romance I read was Janelle Denison’s THE WILDE SIDE, and I have to say, to this day Scott Wilde still holds an extra-special place in my heart. I guess you never forget your first love, right? I think my favorite heroine is Bella from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. She’s tough and tenacious, totally kick-ass, but still sweet and kind. I’d love to have her as a friend.
Are you character or plot driven? Why?
My stories are 100% character driven. My characters start showing up in dreams and visions months, sometimes years, before I write their stories. I often see scenes that make no sense to me, but I know when the time is right, I’ll understand what I’m supposed to do with that scene and how it fits into a story. I usually have a vague idea of how a story ends, but when I wrote LAST CALL, I was 75% into the story and still had no idea how they were going to get out the mess they found themselves in. Sometimes it’s hard to just follow along, but when I relax and trust the process, it always ends up working just fine.
How do you feel about social media? Is it a help or hindrance to you?
I think, like everything, moderation is usually best. I love to get on Facebook and visit with my friends—most of which are readers who have become friends. It’s usually my happy place that makes me laugh and smile, but there’s also a lot of drama and negativity on there, so when my newsfeed starts zapping my energy and making me feel sad or down, I know it’s time to step away for the day. I have a terrible Twitter phobia, and usually end up feeling like I’m in high school again. I definitely wasn’t one of the cool kids. 😀 I really like Tsu and spend time on there when I can, as well.
What are the first five titles on your kindle?
THE SHADOWS – JR Ward
PLAYING WITH TEMPTATION – Erika Wilde
YOU CAN YOU WILL – Joel Osteen
THE RISK – Skye Jordan
YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE – Louise Hay
Where do you see yourself and your writing in the next five years?
I hope I’m still writing! LOL By that time, I hope to have written another 30 books (wow, that seems a little daunting, but at my current schedule, that would be right), and I hope the readers are still enjoying them! That’s the most important thing. Cranking out a lot of books isn’t my goal… releasing good books the readers enjoy is everything!
How many books do you own and what does your bookshelf look like?
I’m not at home right now, so I can’t count my books… not sure I could count them all anyway. LOL But I have a LOT! We had been living in a small house that didn’t have room for all my books, so I had boxes and boxes in storage. Now that I have book shelves again, they’re all back on display. As you can guess, based on the first 5 books on my Kindle, my reading tastes are pretty eclectic, and my physical bookshelves are about like my Kindle. Lots of variety that includes fiction and nonfiction!
If you are published traditionally and independently, which do you prefer and why?
I wasn’t traditionally published with one of the big 5, but I was published with a small press publisher, and I definitely like indie publishing better. I like having the ability to include my books in multi-author boxed sets for increased exposure, or changing covers if the old ones aren’t working, or running flash sales. I’m a control freak, so indie publishing works well for me.
What advice do you have for people that are trying indie publishing right out of the gate?
Forge friendships and network with other indie authors. Join indie pubbed Facebook or Yahoo groups so you can learn from others who have gone before. There’s no reason to beat a new path through the jungle when you can follow along in the footsteps of authors who have been doing this for a while and know what does and doesn’t work. And don’t be afraid to ask questions. Indie pubbed authors are some of the most generous and giving individuals I’ve ever met.
What do you find inspiring?
A lot of my writing inspiration comes from music. Sometimes when I hear a song, I’ll start to see scenes playing out. Sometimes, as happened the other day while listening to Foreigner’s HEAD GAMES, I get insight into a characters internal conflict. Katy Perry’s DARK HORSE inspired a character (Carmella in the DARING MASQUERADE). That’s why I can’t listen to anything with words while I’m actually writing. It gets too distracting and overwhelming for me, and I get inundated with scenes and ideas.
Do you have a favorite charity?
The brain tumor center at Duke, and the American Cancer Society.
Your family is safe and sound. You have 24 hours to live and have been given the ability to do anything in the world, what do you do?
Spend it with my family. I see things differently than I did eight years ago, before my husband’s diagnosis. Everything in my life was put into perspective the day the doctor said, “There’s a deeply embedded mass in the brain.” What’s important became crystal clear that day, and it wasn’t whether or not my house was clean or if I had on make-up and looked my best. It was being with him and making the most of every minute we’ve been given. My family is the most important thing, and if I only had 24 hours, I’d spend every moment of it – absolutely no sleeping! – with them.
Thank you so much for letting me visit with you and your readers!!

Wade Neumann has spent the last year burying the pain and humiliation of being left at the altar by a woman who used him as a novelty toy before settling down with someone more like herself—someone rich. He’s lost himself in a stream of nameless females since then, but instead of the trysts helping him heal, he’s only grown colder and more jaded. He hasn’t moved on with his life. He’s merely stuck going through the motions… until he meets Callie Holden, a woman who looks like his ex but is actually the opposite—sweet, compassionate, loyal, and most importantly, not wealthy. Or so he thinks. Because just as he starts to believe things with Callie are real and true, she gives him thirty million reasons to doubt all over again.
Alannah believes there’s nothing more magical than finding the other half of your soul, experiencing fiery passion, and knowing you’ve found happily-ever-after.

She lives in the coastal region of North Carolina with her husband, who also happens to be her best friend and biggest fan. They have two sons, a dog, and two cats.
