Boundary Crossed by Melissa F. Olson
Series: Boundary Magic #1
Published by 47 North Genres: Urban Fantasy
Former Army Sergeant Allison “Lex” Luther doesn’t pull any punches. When she stumbles across two people trying to kidnap her niece she goes into full warrior mode. Lex does a good job of saving her niece but loses her life in the process. It’s a good thing she has the uncanny ability of coming back to life.
When it is discovered that Lex’s niece is a “null” meaning she cancels out magic the supernatural world upends Lex’s. Now Lex must work with Quinn a vampire fixer to unravel the mystery surrounding her niece’s attempted kidnappings and stop the villains before something worse happens.
I received Boundary Crossed by Melissa F. Olson as a Kindle First novel. Every month Amazon gives prime members the opportunity to try upcoming novels. There were many great sounding titles to choose from but Boundary Crossed called out to me. I am thrilled that I chose it because it was unstoppable entertainment from the first page.
Lex is a strong and smart heroine. She knows how to protect herself and those she loves. Author Melissa F. Olson creates such depth of emotion within Lex in the first stunning scenes when she realizes her niece is in danger. I found myself holding my breath as Lex fought mind, body and soul to hang onto her niece. It was powerful and spine-tingling AND this was just the beginning!!
Boundary Crossed is the beginning of what is guaranteed to be a hit series for Olson. The action, suspense and emotion where gripping throughout the novel. The intensity was so great I read the entire thing in one sitting.
The novel definitely leans more towards urban fantasy than paranormal with not a lot of romance mixed in. However, there is definitely sparks flying all over the place and I can’t wait to see what Lex gets into next and who will be there to light her fire. Boundary Crossed is a Joyfully Recommended Read and I will be counting down the days until I can get my hands on Olson’s next Boundary Magic novel!
