Rafe Angelito thought he was done with the demons from his past—until his son is kidnapped. Blackmailed into abducting an American heiress, the legionnaire soon finds himself trapped in paradise with a fiery, daring beauty who's nothing he expects…and everything he desires. But when he uncovers her own dark secret, Rafe realizes he's made a critical mistake—one that could cost him everything.
Playing body double for a spoiled socialite was supposed to be Holly Ryan's ticket to freedom. But when she's snatched off her yacht by a tall, dark and dangerous stranger, the not-quite-reformed con artist will make a desperate play to turn her captor from enemy to ally, by any means necessary.
Yet as scorching days melt into sultry nights, Holly is drawn to the mysterious capitaine, with his unexpected sense of honor and his searing touch. When they're double-crossed, they'll have to risk trusting each other in ways they never imagined…because in this deadly game of deception, it's their lives—and hearts—on the line.
Brynn Kelly makes a smashing debut with Deception Island! This pulse-pounding romance will leave you breathless and aching for more. The adventure begins from page one and never lets up as two lost characters find their true selves within the arms of each other in Deception Island.
I could not get enough of Rafe and Holly! Both used to living life on the edge with enough secrets to set the island on fire find romance amidst the most harrowing experience. Kelly has created the perfect storm of danger, desire, and character depth with Deception Island. The story is rich in action as well as heady emotion. Rafe and Holly are such complex characters. Their lives have not been easy causing them to turn into warriors used to fighting alone but now are forced to trust another. I felt such compassion for both of them and the circumstances that landed them in this situation.
Kelly delivers a Joyfully Recommended Read with Deception Island! I MUST HAVE more of Kelly’s superb action romance! The only unnerving thing about this book were the creepy crawlies and don’t even get me started on the sharks! I know it’s an island I expected them but I didn’t anticipate the screaming I would do as they appeared on the pages. Ms. Kelly definitely gave new meaning to breathtaking romance for me! I highly recommend Deception Island!
