A suspicious death. A ghost in a mirror. The new Dark Legacy novel from the New York Times bestselling author known for crafting stories of burning passion and chilling suspense... The death of her friend and mentor, Evelyn Ballinger, brings psychic counselor Gwen Frazier back to the small town of Wilby, Oregon, and brings back memories she would rather forget. Two years ago, a killer stalked the members of one of Ballinger’s research studies—including Gwen, who survived while two others didn’t. Now, she’s sure that Ballinger’s death is related. Sent by a friend to help Gwen, psychic investigator Judson Coppersmith arrives in Wilby barely in control of his own talent and his own life, and haunted by urgent dreams. His attraction to Gwen is primal, but there are secrets he must keep to protect himself from surrendering to her completely, even as their investigation draws them into dreamscapes, into decades of deception and into the paranormal fires of a desire too strong to resist...

Gwen Frazier rushes to her friend and mentor’s house only to arrive too late.  Evelyn Ballinger is dead and the way she died is very familiar to Gwen.  Years before, Gwen participated in a special psychic study that Evelyn ran and it ended when one of the participants started murdering others in the study until the night he came after Gwen.  That night Gwen learned new things about her own gifts as she defeated the murderer.  Gwen knows he died that night, but could he be back somehow?  Gwen knows she needs help and she knows just the people to call.

Judson Coppersmith is psychic as are his brother and sister.  Judson and his brother also run a small psychic PI business, with Judson being the primary investigator and his brother doing he majority of the research and development.  Judson met Gwen once before and was extremely attracted to her; however, Judson knows exactly what Gwen’s main gift is and he isn’t about to be seen as a patient rather than a lover.  Now he just has to figure out how to solve the mysterious murders that have started up again, keep Gwen safe and show her that the passion between them isn’t something to be denied.

Gwen knew when she met Judson that something in his past was still haunting him. When she offered to help it ended what should have been a very magical night between them.  Now they are back together and the passion is not only still there but seems to be even stronger than before.  The next few days are a bumpy road for Gwen and Judson.  There is the danger that seems to be shadowing them, the hunt for the murderer and they have to get all this done before the wedding between Gwen’s sister of choice and Judson’s brother because missing the wedding is not even an option.  With each answer Judson and Gwen find it seems that even more questions arise from it and now the hunt is seriously a family affair in more ways than one.  The passion flames and can’t be denied any longer between Gwen and Judson, but can they find a way to move forward with their love and deal with thing that is haunting Judson and get is all done before the wedding?

Psychic gifts, suspense and passion all collide when Judson and Gwen come together inDream Eyes.  I have no idea how Gwen and Judson were able to deny the passion between them but I wasn’t surprised that it took no time at all before it was flaming between them.  I was a bit worried that a future between them wouldn’t happen when I learned about Judson’s last job and Gwen’s psychic gift.  The suspense and mystery was very gripping and had me wondering just what the next page would bring.  I love trying to guess who is behind the suspense and this time I admit that I was wrong and love admitting it.  Ms. Krentz’s red herrings and mis-directions were very well done and that is just as important as the romance and development of the characters to me.  I absolutely loved watching Judson and Gwen find the correct path that lead them to the best type of future.  I also loved the twist at the end that showed me that some series connections are in the future.  I’m now wondering just who the next couple will be because I have two people who I want it to be and they are not going to be a couple.

Dream Eyes kept me on my toes and constantly guessing at what would happen next – the perfect combination for a mystery.  Throw in a touch of the paranormal and a great romance and you have me sold.  By the time I turned the last page, I knew that I would be Joyfully Recommending Dream Eyes as a fantastic suspense filled mystery with just the right amount of passion mixed in.  This might be book 2 in the Dark Legacy series, but you don’t have to read them in order.  I didn’t but you can bet that I ordered the first book in the series because now I just have to see what happened.  Plus, it will fill in the time I have to wait to get the next book in the series.
