Grace Andreas never thought about having to deal with her family’s legacy because she was the second daughter.  However when her sister and her husband are killed, Grace suddenly finds herself the mother of her sister’s two children and the new Oracle of Louisville.  Grace ended up with these powers cold and is doing a serious learning on the job routine.  All of this has shaken Grace and her self-confidence.  It’s doesn’t help that now she has two children who are depending on her and must deal with the call of the Elder Races along with others all while trying to figure out how to pay the bills.  Being an Oracle no longer pays – literally.
Khalil, Demonkind and Djinn Prince of House Marid, fell for the two children that are now under the care of Grace.  He has serious doubts about her ability to keep them safe and has declared himself the guardian for both of them.  As such, he has inserted himself into Grace’s family house.  For Khalil there is a second reason to move into the house.  He also wants to show Grace the error of her ways on how she thinks and treats the Elder Races and to show them the respect they deserve.
Grace can’t believe that now on top of everything else she has a Djinn living in her house and that he seems to look down on everything she does.  Things change in their relationship as Khalil learns why Grace pinches pennies and lets the house be as it is.  While Khalil and Grace discover just how thin the line is in between annoyance and passion, someone is trying to kill Grace.  Now Khalil is mad and he will track down who is trying to kill Grace and harm the kids he has claimed.  He is also going to solve this problem of the Elder Races taking advantage of Grace.  Grace might not have wanted to be the Oracle at first, but now she is learning how her powers can help others have a better life.  For the first time since it happened, Grace sees just how important the Oracle of Louisville is, but has that vision come too late for everyone?
Can an Oracle and a Djinn discover how to keep the passion that has surrounded them when someone wants to end the Oracle’s visions permanently?  In Oracle’s Moon Grace and Khalil learn this answer and a lot others in their race against time.  I was amazed to see how badly Oracle’s had been treated for so many years.  From being treated as an honored deity to living hand to mouth was a wake up call.  I wanted to give Grace a hug several times just because she wasn’t letting her circumstances stop her from doing her best.  Watching the change in Khalil from an arrogant Djinn to an understanding and loving man was a journey all in itself.  I have to admit that I had to shake my head at the stupidity of the person trying to continue to harm Grace after Khalil had claimed her and the children.  I just knew that they would get what was coming to them when faced with a mad Djinn and a powerful Oracle with two children to protect.  I loved how the community came to Grace’s aid and how she in turn used her powers to help them.  By the end, I knew that no one would be taking advantage of the Oracle of Louisville or anyone close to her ever again.
Oracle’s Moon takes you on a journey of despair, danger, passion and lasting love.  One that had me reading long into the night and hoping I wouldn’t run out of pages even though I knew the journey would eventually end.  I loved Grace and Khalil’s story for so many reasons and it became my second favorite of the series – right after Dragon Bound.  There is no doubt in my mind that Oracle’s Moon deserves to be Joyfully Recommended.  If you haven’t started reading about The Elder Races yet, I urge you to begin now – you won’t regret it.
