Finally, Riccardo De Campo has agreed to give his estranged wife, Lilly, the one thing she has been wanting for quite a while now, a divorce. Riccardo and Lilly had once enjoyed a whirlwind fairytale existence, but things were erected in their paths, and they seemed to have floundered with their poor choices and lack of reliance on one another. Now, it appears that Riccardo has decided that they will host a divorce party to put a period to their twelve month estrangement. However, will these two be able to really put an end to what had ignited them into matrimony, or will they find that they have what it takes to make it last?
The Divorce Party was a refreshing enjoyable tale about normal people making mistakes, and learning to work through them slowly. I found the differing outlooks on their situation spot-on in The Divorce Party.
Riccardo and Lilly were both on equal footing in The Divorce Party with their flaws. They both managed to lie to one another in different areas over the course of their story, as well as betray one another too! I didn’t always agree with their choices in The Divorce Party, but I understood their stance in making those same choices.
In the end, I found that Riccardo and Lilly discovered that a HEA is NOT always easy, but takes hard work and dependence upon one another when they find that they flounder in life, and they deserve their HEA! I eagerly await Jennifer Hayward’s next endeavor with Harlequin Presents.
