Rock god Henri Lafontaine, front man for Hookers and Cocaine is spiraling into his own personal version of hell. Between hating the other band members, bullied by their manager, his own mother, and unable to leave the closet because of his mother’s machinations Henri is regretting his fame. Rushed to the hospital everyone believes he’s overdosed while in reality it was a drink from a creepy fan that caused the problem.
Entering rehab for the peace and quiet Henri begins to take stock and take his life back. First off he finds a way to oust his manager and hire Lucas Honeycutt who has a track record of reinventing singers. Lucas insists on sending him to the wilds of Evergreen, Colorado once he’s out of rehab to train with an opera singer of all things.
It’s a shock to find a sexy guy his own age at the old fashioned house in the woods. Sebastian Unger acts much older than he is and doesn’t seem to know what real fun is all about. Maybe if Henri can get Seb to loosen up the backlash will cause the rock star to mature. One can hope. In the meantime maybe the two can meet halfway and explore their obvious attraction. With Seb’s help Henri will be ready to take on the world, on his own terms. Then it will be time to find out what’s going on with Seb and his ‘patron’. Something isn’t right with them and it’s making Henri feel all grown up and protective. See, maturity can rub off…
Entertaining from start to finish. Readers will embrace A Matter of When. Intelligent drama, emotional issues that hit the mark, and great dialogue, especially Henri’s inner thoughts both hilarious and insightful makes A Matter of When shine. The rocker is something special, stronger than he realizes. Seb on the other hand appears in control but needs Henri more than he’s willing to admit. Watching their relationship unfold and blossom is seriously fun. Enjoy A Matter of When. You will, promise.
