“Enchanted by Blood” by Laurie London
Trace Westfalen hasn’t been happy in a long time. He’s so worried about getting his seat on the vampire’s governing council; lately he’s had little pleasure in his life. When he thinks such grand thoughts of happiness and pleasure only one person comes to mind, Charlotte Grant. A year ago she was his event planner and his every thought. Then she discovered the dark side of his world and he had to wipe her memory. Now she’s in danger and he jumps back into her life to rescue her. Will Trace and Charlotte have a second chance at everlasting love or will this second chance have tragic consequences?
“Enchanted by Blood” is just that, enchanting. It’s impossible to miss the immense longing Trace feels for Char and the relationship they shared. When Trace and Char come together it’s as if a year’s worth of passion explodes. It makes for some hot and heady love making. I become more enamored with Laurie London’s Sweetblood series with every page I read. As the series progresses the story deepens. We begin to learn more about the world dynamics and characters that reside there. “Enchanted by Blood” raises the emotional stakes providing the reader with a compelling and classy read.
“Monsters Don’t Do Christmas” by Michelle Hauf
Christmas is not exactly Daniel Harrison’s favorite time of year. He considers himself a monster. Last year at Christmas he was viciously attacked and changed into a vampire. When the beautiful Olivia saves him from a savage beating he finds her hard to resist. Olivia discovers he’s a vampire and doesn’t flinch. Daniel finds that rather intriguing. What would it hurt to partake in one night of sexual bliss with Olivia? Olivia’s harboring a secret of her own. How will Daniel react to her reveal? Will Daniel and Olivia turn one night of passion into forever or will they prove that “Monster’s Don’t Do Christmas?”
“Monsters Don’t Do Christmas” is a sentimentally sweet holiday romance. The story centers on how Daniel is stuck on viewing himself as a monster. In a way Olivia views herself as a monster as well. This makes them the perfect for each other. I really like this story because not only does it include romance and hot lovin’ but it’s about Daniel finding his way to his true self. Once that happens the possibilities for happiness go way up and Christmas is the perfect time for this story to take place.
“When Herald Angels Sing” by Caridad Pineiro
A century ago Damien met his beloved Angelina for the first time. She was ripped away from him by vicious evil. As a vampire Damien must live an eternity without Angelina, or so he thought. She came back to him only to be lost again to violence. Now Damien waits for another chance to be with the woman he loves and hopefully keep her this time. The stars are aligning. Angelina returns once again on Christmas Eve. Can Damien make things right this time? Will their undying love heal all wounds or will this be their last time together?
“When Herald Angels Sing” is a cool paranormal Christmas tale. Some elements remind me of a Christmas Carol. Damien and Angelina may be fated, but are they fated to be together or constantly ripped apart? I was surprised by the dynamics of this story and found them rather appealing. Damien gets glimpses of the past and the mistakes that took place but will he find the key to surviving the future? Damien and Angelina shine bright together. There is something so sad and so beautiful about this story.
