Gretchen Petty is a ghost writer.  Her current writing job is boring her to tears but she needs the money.  When a strange job falls into her lap she is skeptical but cannot afford to turn it down.

Hunter Buchanan is a real-estate tycoon.  He’s scarred badly and because of that he lives much like a recluse.  When he spots Gretchen he is enamored and must learn more about her. What does a rich man do when he wants something…he creates a fascinating job for her of course.

Gretchen moves into Hunter’s home to complete her “job.”  She finds the elusive Hunter to be an interesting enigma she cannot wait to figure out.  How will she feel about Hunter when she figures out he hasn’t exactly been open and honest with her?

Clare’s Beauty and the Billionaire is a great read.  I’m a big fan of the “beauty and the beast” trope.  Hunter is very much the gruff solitary billionaire used to getting his own way.  I love the feistiness in Gretchen and how she stands up to Hunter and shows him the power of love and how to overcome a torturous past!
