Chief of Surgery, Dr. Dakota Sevion is one of thirteen siblings, the baby of ten brothers and three younger sisters.  Many of Dakota’s brothers are also doctors at Gelreen Memorial Hospital.  One other little family tie is that they are all born vampires whose parents hail from Romania.

An emergency room call sends the doctor running straight into a cubicle containing an injured three year old and his father Nishon ‘Nimo’ Moore, who is Dakota’s sufletul pereche, his mate.  Literally walking on air at discovering the other half of his soul the good doctor is shocked when he realizes that his soon to be son Isaiah or ‘Zay’ is a forziq.  Long ago the forziq were hunted to extinction because of their gift for seeing and scenting paranormal beings and abusing their talent.

Dakota is thrilled to find his mate and horrified by a long standing duty to his kind.  What should have been a time for celebration is quickly spinning into ideas for hiding a three year old innocent.

The Sevion Brotherhood series has a seriously entertaining start.  Dakota blends tension and humor with equal measure.  Between the stoic Sevion brothers that surround Dakota and his mate Nimo’s original adopted family there’s never a quiet moment.  With an inventive plotline, great dialogue, and a fascinating cast of characters Dakota never lacks for excitement.  This is definitely a series worth your time.
