Professional “student” Mercedes “Mercy” Starling runs out of money while studying in England.  So Mercy takes a job as a tutor, but when that falls through, she agrees to work in a medieval reenactment company, and the new owner of Bestwood Hall makes the summer job even more intriguing.

Introvert Alden Ainslie would like his own happily ever after, but he just can’t seem to dig up the courage to go on the hunt for the woman that would help him achieve his goal.  However, a matchmaker has decided to intervene and send someone down to Bestwood Hall while Alden is renovating the old Tudor.  Thrown into the days of old, Alden finds himself coming out of his shell, but suspicious activities might just prevent him from closing the deal.

Daring in a Blue Dress is a joyous romp of a love story filled with moments of laugh out loud scenes, witty dialogue, and tiny mysteries to give Mercy and Alden something to solve.  There were a few discrepancies that threw me a bit in Daring in a Blue Dress, but nothing to get overly worked up about, because the whole feel of the tale was lighthearted.  I did thoroughly enjoy Alden and Mercy’s first kiss though!  It was incredibly romantic in Daring in a Blue Dress.
