Series: Nantucket Brides Trilogy #3
Published by Ballantine Books Genres: Contemporary
Physical therapist, Hallie Hartley, learns that she has inherited a house on Nantucket and that a potential client is staying there, but can easily be moved if Hallie is inclined to shove him aside. Jamie Taggart is in need of more than a bit of physical therapy, but neither he nor Hallie truly knows the depths of his injuries and scars. Revealing a different tale to the lovely Hallie, they embark on a bit of a relationship that will test the bounds of their trust and possibly provide some healing balm for the hurt that they have both endured in their lives. Of course, a few meddling ghosts with their romantic tale doesn’t hurt to bring these two together either.
Jude Deveraux has done it again! Ever After is a charming romance that develops the relationship between the two protagonists over time and shows the deep, strong bond that is laid down between Jamie and Hallie. Both, Jamie and Hallie, were fully developed and fleshed out making them seem realistic and likeable in Ever After. The secondary characters in Ever After served to solidify Jamie and Hallie’s relationship instead of hindering and detracting from it. Even the history of the house that Hallie inherited was intriguing with its entourage that came alone with it. I found myself longing for a few of those tasty treats as well. Ever After proved once again that Jude Deveraux still has it!!
