The McAllan Brothers Band sells out concert halls around the U.S with their infectious country sound. Lead singer and songwriter Travis McAllan, along with his two brothers have taken the band from obscurity to the big time with talent and hard work. The only downside to stardom is that Travis feels forced to hide his sexuality in order to succeed.
In all the craziness of the Hollywood scene Geoff Randsell goes about his day at a regular job and lives a normal life. His live-in boyfriend Doug is an ex-mariine who dreams of running his own indie studio one day. And Geoff’s ‘bestie’ is an aging actress who once played a popular tv mom. Sometimes Geoff feels like the only sane, normal person in this crazy town.
There’s really no question that Geoff and Doug are drifting apart. It’s only a matter of time before one of them finally calls it quits, but Geoff never expects to be literally blown away by a country singer at a party he attends. They have an instant connection neither is willing to deny. Travis is supposedly straight though it’s obvious from the night they meet he’s been keeping a pretty big secret. Geoff is rightfully hesitant to start something with a closeted superstar, while at the same time unable to cut the last strings to a dead relationship. His country boy is something else. The problem is knowing how rocky this road will be before the dust settles.
The complexity of love and relationships is opened wide in Fair in Love. For reasons of family and career Travis has kept his secret. Geoff, on the other hand, is at the tail end of a relationship. How they handle their romance is the crux of this complicated story. The country singer is used to placating everyone around him, but once he falls for Geoff all bets are off. Also, somewhere along the way Geoff begins to feel bulldozed into agreeing to things for the sake of peace. Travis looses points for love but luckily redeems his actions before the end. Fair in Love takes their love story from zero to sixty in no time. Hold on tight and enjoy the wild ride. It’s a doozy.
