Series: Heart of the Rockies #3
Published by Forever Genres: Contemporary
One day Ruby James just showed up out of the blue in Aspen, Colorado and since then she has made the Walker Mountain Ranch her home. She has been the chef there for a year but when things start coming up missing Ruby is scared they will find out about her past and who she really is. There is just one problem, the closer she gets to Sawyer the more she starts to care and come clean, but she has no idea how it will unfold in the end.
Sawyer Hawkins is a damn good police officer but after what his ex-wife put him though he needs a change. He has no idea if he will be able to trust again but the more time he spends with Ruby the more he wants to trust her. With only a month left on the force before he transfers to Denver he needs to get to the bottom of who is stealing from the Walker Mountain Ranch. With the days that go by he is slowly working his way through the suspect list and with Ruby’s help this case will be wrapped up in no time. But the more time Sawyer spends with Ruby the more he wants to stay right where he belongs.
From the moment I started More Than a Feeling I was quickly taken to the Rockies. The descriptions were one of the best parts of More Than a Feeling, they made me feel as if I was actually there taking in the scenery and fresh mountain air. But of course the romance was what I was really into. Both Sawyer and Ruby are different yet they have not being able to trust in common and it showed in the way they came together; it was sweet and yet they both held back because of their pasts.
While reading, I couldn’t wait to find out what Ruby’s story was and Sara Richardson didn’t disappoint in everything she went through and showed just how strong Ruby was. She was smart and loyal, but the one thing I loved about her was the way she tried to overcome her fears and her past. Little by little you could see her pushing past the walls she built and starting to let people in.
More Than a Feeling was a cute read that captured me from the moment I started. Some parts were a little predictable and I wish her ex was written a little differently but overall I thought More Than a Feeling was a great addition to the Heart of the Rockies series. This series has really captured me with its wonderfully written and developed characters, witty dialogue and the charming scenery. I am really looking forward to seeing what Ms. Richardson will come out with next.
