Cara has worked hard to get to the top of her game. She strives to be very responsible, but the occasional night out dancing helps to keep her on track with her goals. Feeling that she would like to break from her rigid schedule, but fearing that veering off too far could send her world into a tailspin, Cara briefly dabbles into the deep end. Discovering that her little excursion could cost her more than she bargained for, she aims to regain her rigid code and keep her nose to the grindstone.
Branden Duke has an agenda and the beautiful woman snoozing on his couch in his private sanctuary may have just thrown a wrench in his plans. However, he intends to stay on target and get to the bottom of the deception plaguing his new take-over. Perhaps Cara is a distraction, but will Branden allow her to cloud his judgment and risk more than he ever dreamed, or will she be exactly what he needs?
Filthy Rich was an engaging, adventurous read that drew me in from the first page. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that Branden looked beyond the surface and truly trusted his gut in some circumstances, yet proved he did have his faults in others in Filthy Rich. Cara and her running hot and cold got a bit old at times, but I understood why she had such a conflict in Filthy Rich, after staying the course for so long to divert from it was a little unnerving for her.
The intrigue and mystery that played out in Filthy Rich was a surprise, as well. I considered another character and was surprised when the culprit was revealed! Filthy Rich showed that all work and no play for either Branden or Cara could make them very dull in the end, and frankly, I was glad they played…a lot…in Filthy Rich!
