Colin Spencer, Marquess of Farleigh, can’t believe it when he finds himself having feelings for his best friend’s little sister. So much so that he quickly enters into an agreement for marriage. Elinor Hargrove is determined to keep her feelings for Colin under wraps. But when he kisses her, twice, she finds she can’t. That’s why the discovery that he is engaged is so devastating and infuriating! However, when danger from the past comes into their life, they are forced together. Can they find their way to each other and what about Colin’s engagement?
I’ve never read Kathleen Kimmel before and I did enjoy A Gentleman’s Guide to Scandal. However I have to admit, at times I felt extreme frustration with both Colin and Elinor. So much so, that it took some of the enjoyment out of the book. It just seemed to me that they both tried too hard to not be together and had no reason that justified the extremes. I certainly won’t hesitate to pick up another book by Kathleen Kimmel in hopes I’ll fall in love with the characters.
