Megan Harrison is the owner of Kinky Spurs. She’s mortgaged up to her eyeballs and works long days and nights, but she’s living life on her terms, not on her wealthy father’s. She’s done being in the cattle rancher’s shadow. She’s got it all figured out, except for the part that involves Nash Blackshaw. He’s a sexy as hell cowboy whose smile can easily charm her out of her tight jeans. The only problem is—their fathers were business rivals, and Megan and Nash have been taught to hate each other since birth.

Nash Blackshaw, a retired professional bull rider, has responsibilities on top of responsibilities. With his PBR career over due to back injury, and his focus narrowed on heading up the Blackshaw Cattle Company’s Guest Ranch, he shouldn’t have time to think about all the ways he wants Megan. But it’s all he thinks of around the sassy and sweet woman. She might be forbidden to him, but Nash wants to take her for a hard, kinky ride.

But small towns have a way of spreading gossip like wildfire, and not everyone is happy about their relationship. Especially when Megan drops a bombshell on Nash after one heated night between them. As much as Megan and Nash want to forget the old feud between their fathers and lose each other in explosive passion, they can’t escape reality. They are meant to be enemies, and Nash’s sizzling, dominant touch might not be enough to keep them together.

Megan Harrison makes her living by owning a bar known for its sexy games and fun loving atmosphere. While Megan promotes the illusion of sex, personally Megan does her best to not give in to her lust for one sexy cowboy she grew up with.  Especially since his family and her father can’t stand each other.  Nash Blackshaw is one of the Blackshaw brothers trying to save their family ranch by opening up a guest ranch.  Nash’s job is to be the face of the ranch as an ex pro bull rider who was at the top before an accident which resulted in a spinal injury happened and ended his career.  Nash agreed to be the face of the ranch for now while he decides what to do with his life. One great thing about being home is Megan, a woman he has wanted pretty much forever.

On the night of his brother’s wedding, Megan and Nash give into their feelings for a one night stand. Sparks flew and both their worlds were rocked, but they went their separate ways afterwards.  However, it seems that date has other ideas on Megan and Nash’s future.  When an unexpected consequence is revealed, both Megan and Nash need to come together and blaze a new path.  That won’t be easy as at the same time accidents are happening at the guest ranch. The kind meant to close the ranch and end the Blackshaw’s hope of saving their home.  And worse of all for Nash and Megan’s relationship, all things are pointing to her father being involved. Can Nash and Megan have a loving future together or will the gate between her father and the Blackshaw ‘s ruin everything before it has a chance?

Hard-Riding Cowboyfinally brings Nash and Megan together after all their smoldering heat in the previous books.  I believe that how they were made to face their differences and feelings is the only way it would have happened.  I have to say I loved watching them dance around each other even after their night of passion. I also enjoyed following the clues on what was going on at the guest ranch and who was behind it.  I figured out one person but not everyone involved. I loved Nash and Megan’s story and thought it was a great way to end the Blackshaw’s brothers’ journey into love. Hard-Riding Cowboyis a fun story with a bit of suspense that is perfect for an afternoon getaway to escape life for a few hours.
