Personal connections to a Hollywood heavy hitter allows Brett Shackley the opportunity to pursue his own dreams in Tinseltown.  A job as assistant to actor Ian Brewer puts him on the set with his obsession, heartthrob Damon Dexter.  Brett can barely speak when Damon comes to the set and he’s too blinded to see that the actor isn’t so nice behind closed doors.  Set on his misguided course of getting close to the star Brett tries to befriend Damon’s own assistant Eddie Huff who sees right through the rookie assistant’s machinations.

Ironically, the more time Brett spends with Eddie in his pursuit of Damon the closer they become.   A naughty sexual encounter lets them realize they could have a good thing together until a silly misunderstanding almost ruins everything.  Trying to convince Eddie that he is now the star of Brett’s dreams may prove impossible.  Good thing the assistant has a stubborn streak a mile wide because Eddie’s love is worth everything to him.

Heartthrob introduces a delightfully star struck assistant to the world of the Hollywood Hotties series.  Blinded by unrealistic desires Brett is the perfectly naïve assistant brought to earth by the love of an ordinary man, Eddie.  The assistant’s evolving maturity is pivotal to the plotline of this story.  Keeping the reader engaged Heartthrob is a somewhat cautionary tale with extra doses of sweet tenderness.
