They are the Ghost Ops: a covert squad of super-elite soldiers. After their team was betrayed and massacred, the three surviving members went underground and built Haven, a community of misfits and geniuses. Now they're at a crossroads, facing a new threat capable of destroying everything they hold dear. When Nick Ross disappears from Elle Thomason's life, she is certain she'll never see the man she loves again—except in her dreams. Ten years later, as a respected researcher breaking new ground in psychic phenomena, she sends a desperate call for Nick's help. One by one, her colleagues have started disappearing . . . and Elle knows she's next. An elite soldier, Nick never meant to hurt Elle, duty kept him away—and then she vanished. Now troubled by unusually vivid, disturbing dreams of Elle in danger, Nick will rescue the only woman he's ever wanted and bring her back with him to Haven. Though powerful men are after Elle and her special abilities, Nick will die before leaving her side again.
When Nick Ross was just eleven years old, Judge Oren Thomason saved his life. The judge’s seven-year-old daughter, Elle, worshiped and loved Nick. When Nick left, he took Elle’s heart with him. Then, one brief meeting years after his disappearance, almost destroys her.
Ten years later, Elle has learned to accept and hone her psychic abilities. When Nick gets a distress call from Elle in a dream, he charges to her rescue. But can he stop a man whose quest for power is as strong as Nick’s need to keep Elle safe?
I Dream of Danger has thrilling action sequences, a complex, intelligent storyline, a power-hungry villain, sizzling sex, and an intense romance. I found so much to love about this story. The romance between Nick and Elle is wrought with angst and heartache. Their love grew slowly and endured the test of time and distance. Nick is a masculine specimen. He’s intense and sexy as hell. And Elle is delicate, feminine, and intelligent. They’re a perfect pair. One of my favorite aspects of I Dream of Danger is its horror-movie-like ending. Lisa Marie Rice took her usual brand of intensely erotic romance and an intricate plot and enhanced it with a bit of gruesome violence. That’s just my speed, and I loved it.
