New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands delivers a wickedly fun Argeneau novel featuring a vampire ready to claim his mate and the beauty who resists her fate!A kiss doesn’t mean eternity . . .Valerie Moyer doesn’t believe in vampires—until she is kidnapped by a fanged psychopath! After escaping her bloodthirsty captor, she’s through with creatures of the night. Until she finds herself under the protection of the darkly handsome Anders. Not only is she expected to accept that Anders is immortal, but also that she is the woman destined to be his life mate!. . . Or does it?Anders felt a connection to Valerie from the moment he cradled her bruised body in his arms. But before he claims her, he must destroy the vampire who almost stole her from him forever. His job would be easier if Valerie didn’t fight him every step of the way. Still, Anders loves a challenge, and the green-eyed beauty is worth fighting for!
Valerie Moyer is a vet who just escaped a madman’s house in hopes of finding help that will save the rest of the women held in the house. However, it doesn’t work out quite that way when Valerie passes out weak and hurt from her captivity and escape. But all might not be lost because Valerie wakes up warm and seems to have been saved by a group of people who say they can take care of the fanged monster that held Valerie and the other women. Valerie is willing to do what they ask in return; especially, since one of the guards is one sexy man she would love to get to know much better.
Anders is an enforcer who was sent out to investigate a 911 call that mentioned vampires. He is sickened by what he finds in the house and after looking for the missing woman who made the call, Anders looks outside and finds her hidden and unconscious. It’s his first instinct to help her and that is when Anders realizes that Valerie is his mate because he can’t get into her mind at all. This is not something that Anders wanted to face right now and he isn’t sure if he is happy to have found his life mate or not.
As the days go by, Anders knows that Valerie is the perfect life mate for him and begins to show her just what he is feeling. However, he knows that there is one area that he will have to overcome before Valerie will come to love him or agree to be his life mate – that all vampires or immortals are not monsters. The more time Valerie spends with Anders, she begins to feel more than just the initial attraction but things are beginning not to add up. The monster that held her and the others is still out there and it appears he wants all the women taken back. The danger is circling around Valerie just as things come to a head and Anders must tell her the truth about himself and the others. Will Valerie be able to accept the fact that most of the immortals are not the monsters she faced just a few days ago or will this be the fact that turns Valerie away from Anders forever?
A rescue mission turns into a passion of a lifetime when life mates meet for the first time in Immortal Ever After. Anders was just following orders when he and other enforcers investigated the house that an emergency call came from. Valerie acted out of desperation when she attacked her jailer and made the call for help, only to pass out from pain while trying to escape. I loved how gentle Anders was with Valerie while she came to terms with what happened to her and the feelings that were emerging between them. Anders might have been worried about what Valerie would decide about them, but really when you have the entire crazy and fun Argeneau family on your side winning over your life mate is a given. I really loved that the women were more than able to hold their own when it was needed. And, of course, I can’t forget to say something about Roxy, the great warrior dog, who knew Andres would be great for his mistress. Immortal Ever After has as much suspense as it does humor and when you toss in the swirl of passion, it’s a wonderful addition to a family that I love to visit one book at a time. Anders and Valerie’s story will draw you in instantly and won’t let you go.
