Captain Ben Teague has never wanted to be in command. But when a close friend and commander is brought up on charges, he soon finds himself exactly where he doesn’t want to be…responsible. It doesn’t help that by the book lawyer, Major Olivia Hale, is overlooking everything he does. Olivia was brought in to help clean up a dirty command and she isn’t sure she likes Ben. From the outside he appears to be everything she hates, a good ole boy who protects his own. But the more time they spend together the more they realize that there is much more to each of them than what appears to be on the outside. It doesn’t take long before they are in the middle of a full-blown relationship. However, with everything going on around them, can they find a way to make it last?
I loved this story! With It’s Always Been You, Jessica Scott has hooked me! Ben and Olivia both have skeletons of their own but together they are able to move past them. Add to this hints of other stories in the Coming Home series, that I haven’t read but know that I will be doing as soon as possible, It’s Always Been You should be on the top of everyone’s “to be read” pile!
