Three years of supposed contentment and happiness together should count as a sign of commitment as far as sub Jim ‘Boy’ Menetti is concerned. The plan was to celebrate with friends until his lover and Dom Reed Davis throws it all away because an old flame of his is back in town.
Emotionally destroyed over the end of their relationship, Jim vows to build a new life without the hindrance of love. He’s the manager of Indiscrete, a gay BDSM club which Reed co-owns. After the breakup Jim is made a modest partner and continues to work there. He also finds a little cottage nearby and adopts a cute kitten.
As Jim’s broken heart begins to heal he meets a sexy professor. He’s moving on though Jim will always love Reed. As for the Dom, Reed finally understands that he tossed away the best thing in his life because he never opened up and told Jim the truth about his past.
Jack’s Back sends a sweet sub into a spiral and then into a new life filled with drama. The old flame’s return is a catalyst for change where Jim is forced to sink or swim and Reed finally has to face his demons. This story is a character driven study of strength and redemption with love as the ultimate goal. The BDSM element is almost nonexistent here, though there’s plenty of mystery and danger to keep the tension level high. For Jim and Reed it is their path to mending hearts and true love that makes Jack’s Back worth all the pain.
