The best of friends since childhood Thaniel Robichaud and Shane McCarthy are the founding members of breakout band Love Like Vampires. They’ve gone through a multitude of changes in the roster of band members over the years, however it finally looks like they have a solid foursome. When the band is asked to open for a major rock star they believe they’ve hit the big time at long last. And as usual on the cusp of a shot at stardom the quarrels begin, again.
All the emotional garbage is wearing Shane into the ground. It’s always the same, time after time. What is also the same is Shane keeping his feelings to himself. Everyone knows that he is gay. What they don’t know is that it has always been Thaniel who held Shane’s heart, always. If they can keep it together and make it what would everyone think if Shane professed his love of Thaniel. For that matter would his boyhood bestie stand beside him? On the edge of stardom after so many hard years can Shane shield his heart or give it to the man he will always love? The question is whether to suffer in silence for possibly a lifetime or finally break free.
Embrace an engaging character study in Love Like Vampires where the heart and the career of a lifetime collide. A complicated, unrequited romance plays out within the confines of a rock band. Shane and Thaniel have a complex, life long relationship that is both satisfying and distant. Other aspects of the story, such as the other band members and a would be manager add angst and distractions to their love story. Love Like Vampires has a strong romance and more poignant moments than first expected. A rich, full story.
