Major Chad Jensen does not think he would mentally survive the remainder of his Marines tour in the Middle East after the devastating loss of Terry Mitchell, his best friend of ten years.  His only saving grace is the continuous letter communication with Terry’s sister, Stacy, while he is still in Iraq.  A year later and stateside, Chad is determined meet Stacy for the first time before returning home to put his life back together as a civilian.

When her brother was killed in the line of duty, Stacy Mitchell’s world shattered into a thousand pieces.  However, over the past year, with the written support of Chad Jensen, her brother’s best friend, Stacy is able to get her life back on track.  Then, one day to her pleasant, shocking surprise, Chad pays her a visit.

Sparks instantly ignite amongst them and it is not long before they are burning up the sheets.  But, with grief, guilt, misunderstanding stuck between them, will love gain the upper hand for Chad and Stacy or is all hope lost?

Love’s Redemption is a heartfelt story that brought together two grieving souls over the loss of a loved one.  What starts out as a sorrowful moment quickly develops into a lasting, meaningful pen pal friendship and later into an intimate relationship.  While I did not agree with Chad’s decision towards Stacy after their night of heated passion, I totally understand why he makes the necessary choice.  Nevertheless, Chad definitely makes up for all his faults in the end.  I really like Stacy’s character.  She is full of humor and has such a spice for life.  She proves to be the perfect enhancement to Chad’s resolute outlook on life.  Whereas, they are total opposites, they complement each other very well.  All in all, Tami VanGurp successfully, manages to pack a whole lot of emotional drama in such a short novel.
