Russell!!!!! Yes yes yes yes. Once again, Ms. Bailey has given us a hero who has earned my heart. I have been waiting for Russell’s story since, Chase Me. We have watched Russell love Abby from afar. His friends want him to declare his love to her, put them both out of their misery and I thoroughly agreed with them : )
Russell has friend zoned himself with Abby, the love of his life. He believes he isn’t good enough for her, for you see, Russell is blue collar and thinks that unless he can provide Abby with the material things in life, then he is unworthy of her love. His Abby was raised in luxury and her money intimidates him. Abby is stronger than Russell gives her credit for, she is handling a situation that is breaking her down both mentally and physically. For reasons of confidentiality, Abby is unable to share with her friends why she’s working endlessly, both night and day.
Watching Russell struggle with hiding his love of Abby, being there for her and doing anything in his power to make her happy endeared him to me. My heart hurt to see him continuously fight those around him and his own pride as he fought his feelings for Abby. Once Abby realizes that she has feelings for Russell, she decides that for once in her life, she will go after what she wants. Russell doesn’t stand a chance, mwahahahahaa.
Tessa is famous for her dirty talking Alpha heroes and in Russell, she didn’t disappoint. Russell is an Alpha male with a sensitivity that made me fall in love with him from the very beginning of Make Me. The love scenes between Russell and Abby were heart pounding, erotic and sexy. I eagerly, impatiently, anticipated Russell and Abby’s story, not only was Make Me worth the wait, Russell goes into my list of top three Tessa Bailey heroes.
We catch up with couples from the other books in the Broke and Beautiful series throughout Make Me. Ms. Bailey makes sure that the couples are integrated into the story line without them taking over. It is why I love her books, we get to read about previous characters we’ve come to love without forsaking the existing characters. I hated for Make Me to end as I have such a love for Russell but it was definitely a very satisfying, sizzling and emotional read. Thank you Tessa, for writing such a great hero in Russell and ending out the series with a bang.
