Emily Randolph is an earth witch who has volunteered to help Micah with a new spell he is working on. Emily is both excited and nervous to be working with Micah all because she has a passion for him that Emily has kept hidden for awhile now. Micah is still trying to come to terms with the loss of his magick and continuing his work with magical R & D is one way Micah is coping. However, now Micah needs a spelling surrogate in order to make his spells work. Just as they are beginning to work on a new spell, they are told that Stefan Fancheut, the reason Micah lost his magick, has escaped his prison and they are needed to help track his down.
Two other witches from their coven join Micah and Emily as they step into the other world in which Stefan is imprisoned. The hunt for Stefan has them setting up camp for the night, and that night Micah and Emily both discover the passion they have kept hidden from the other, which is extremely strong once they explore it. Finding Stefan is the easy part, but the passion that was just discovered is put at risk when Emily’s life is endangered. Micah will do anything to save Emily, even accepting the help of his worst enemy if it comes to that. With the danger over, the most important thing is to get Stefan back to his prison and for Emily and Micah to head home for the bright future that shows Micah that there are many, many types of magick in life.
Two witches discover love is the very best form of magick in Micah’s Magick. I have always felt bad that as part of ending Stefan’s terror rampage on the witches, Micah lost his magick forever. While it was great that he was still able to do his research, needing to have another witch to make the spells work was just another daily reminder to Micah. I loved how Emily just stepped in to help out, even knowing that it would be hard on her because of her feelings for Micah. I wasn’t surprised to see how quickly the passion came once Emily and Micah were allowed to just alone for a short time. While I know that Micah will never have his old magick again, I really love that he has found a type of magick in the love he has found with Emily. Micah’s Magick is a tale of passion found with just a touch of suspense to keep it a bit spicy.
