Otter shifter Noah feels the call to migrate so he heads for the Pacific shoreline near his home.  Philosophical about his chances against hungry predators and humans Noah cannot ignore the inner call.  Someday he will hopefully return to his family.

No sooner does his journey begin Noah hears a cry for help from another otter shifter.  Herm is caught on a metal cable and unable to free his trapped hind leg.  After untangling the crusty otter Noah is forced to return to land and call home once he realizes Herm’s leg needs medical aid.

Back with his family while a cantankerous Herm is on the mend, Noah learns that other otters have gone missing recently.  It’s time for the shifter community to come together and uncover the truth.  In the meantime Noah can’t believe how much Herm is getting under his skin.  In the best way possible.

A fight for survival blends with a quirky romance in the fifth Patching Up installment.  There’s plenty of warmth and fun in The Ornery Otter, a sweet little tale.  On the one hand a real threat exists, on the other a story of opposites attract in the eventful plotline.  The otters’ charming love story manages to overcome a less than exciting mystery with another shifter group. Enjoy Noah and Herm’s romance and let the drama fade away.
