Eyes opened to a world where Birds of Prey battle Blood Demons to protect humanity, college student David is trying to adjust and accept that it’s all too real. It should be easier, it could be easier to cope with if only his true mate Night acknowledged their bond. Devastated when Night rejects him David secretly takes off with an old friend.
Night has always understood his purpose in life. As one of the goddess Athena’s first warriors Night has raised and trained many of the Birds of Prey. He believed that it was his destiny to be alone forever, at least he thought so until he met David. He fears accepting David because bonding with the human will make him a target and if something happened to the flighty student Night would never recover. Breaking David’s heart to protect him is the responsible thing to do, right?
The drama and danger continues in Running After David, the second book in the Birds of Prey series. A darker, gritty paranormal romantic tale brings together a stoic leader and a smart aleck student. Night is trained to handle Blood Demons, not a human mate which gives readers entertaining byplay between the warriors and their true mates. Slightly light on plotline, Running After David is nonetheless an enjoyable story whose characters make their case and make the book worth reading.
