Series: The Shoalman Chronicles #2
Published by Self Published Genres: Paranormal, Urban Fantasy
Kyrissa Spears has a gift. However, her gift is also a curse because her paintings capture emotions to the point where it can literally kill the person she paints and Kyrissa has no control over it. After much extensive research, Kyrissa discovers that Robert Shoalman can assist her to gain control over her power. Will Kyrissa be able to convince Robert to help her?
Robert Shoalman is an immortal. After five centuries of loneliness and battling the pain from his demons, Robert yearns for death. That is until he meets Kyrissa Spears. Will Robert secretly encourage Kyrissa to paint his death or will he give into his desire to claim her as his woman?
I really want to like this series, however, I just cannot get into it. After having read book one in The Shoalman Chronicles, I must admit that Shoalman Immortal, book two, did not hold my interest as much as I would have liked. While the characters are intriguing, I felt that there were some instances in the storyline that I could have dealt without. The courtship between Kyrissa and Robert travels down a rough and difficult road, but in the end it is well worth it. The couple’s passion is intense and a joy to read. I really like how Kyrissa is able to show Robert his self-worth and how she refuses to give up on their love. But, other than that, the plot leaves a lot to be desired.
