She’s running from who she is... All Jules Scott wants is to live a normal, quiet life—preferably one that doesn’t include ghosts. Jules’s talent for communicating with the dead has brought her nothing but trouble. Despite her best efforts, needy spirits always find her and draw her into their otherworldly drama. When one implicates her in a series of deadly crimes, she may need to entrust her secrets to the person least likely to believe her... He’ll do whatever it takes to catch her. Detective Seth English can’t get distracted from the big case he’s working on, not even by his alluring new neighbor. He doesn’t believe that Jules had anything to do with the string of robberies-turned-murders that he’s investigating, but when she keeps showing up in all the wrong places, his gut tells him she knows more than she’s letting on. To solve his case, he’ll need to expose what the sexy redhead is hiding—no matter how impossible the truth may be...

Jules Scott can speak with the dead.  It’s not always a good thing as sometimes it appears that she may be the perpetrator in crimes.  Jules discovered this the hard way when she trusted the wrong person.  Stumbling upon another ghost in need, Jules finds she may have to trust a man who has more power over her than she cares to relinquish.

Detective Seth English trusts in facts.  He’d been burned before, and he is still trying to right some wrongs so that he can advance in his career.  However, sexy Jules continues to show up in questionable places, and Seth knows that she knows more than she is revealing to him.  Can he get her to trust him, and should he trust those that are closest to him in order to solve the latest case that just could make his career….or break it?

Spirited was a page-turning, compelling read that moved quickly and had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the great reveal of secrets!  The suspense just added to the story, and the characters kept me returning to Spirited.

Seth was hot, and I enjoyed his fumbles with his beliefs of what Jules was packing at the beginning of Spirited.  It showed that, sometimes what he thinks he sees may just not be accurate in Spirited.  Jules didn’t want to trust Seth when she discovered what his job was, but she still seemed a bit drawn to him in Spirited.  The ghost that Jules needed to assist added to the mix in Spirited and kept this tale moving along to the final conclusion.  Both Seth and Jules had baggage from their pasts, trust issues, that needed to be handled in Spirited, and they worked on them throughout the story.  I was waiting for the big reveal with ‘edge of your seat’ angst, but I felt it fell flat.  It appeared that Seth trusted her more through the course of Spirited, and that he just didn’t seem to be that bothered later on.  It was as though he knew that he needed to look beyond what the surface revealed to see that the truth was underneath in Spirited.
