A sweet, kind soul Blair Clark has had his share of personal heartache. From witnessing a horrible tragedy in childhood, being picked on continually at school because of his small stature, to making poor choices in boyfriends. Recently Blair lost a good job because he chose to stand up for himself. What confidence he had was quickly eroded.
Refusing to completely throw in the towel Blair lands another job interview where he meets his potential boss, Jack Ross. It’s easy to remember that he saw the man last night while out with his abusive boyfriend Travis Willington since Jack has a vivid port wine stain covering almost half his face.
While life has made Blair timid Jack has developed a thick skin to deal with everyone’s reaction to his face. It is extremely refreshing to see that his birthmark doesn’t bother Blair in the least.
Thrilled to be hired the two keep everything professional in the office. Their feelings for each other however are beginning to change. With Jack behind him Blair breaks things off with a volatile Travis. What happens next could destroy both their lives never mind ruining their love for each other.
Hardships both perceived and real are overcome in Stained. Gentle, sensitive Blair finds love with another wounded soul in this emotionally angst ridden drama. Perfectly matched and balanced against a nasty adversary in a character driven storyline, Stained gives everyone hope. Blair occasionally comes off as spineless. Luckily for the reader he does find redemption with Jack by his side. Uneven at times Stained nonetheless features a worthy knight in shining birthmark to embrace.
