Single mother and party planner extraordinaire is drawn to one of the fathers at her daughter’s birthday party. Turns out the father is actually “Uncle Mike”, and he is more than a little drawn to Anne. But Anne is self-conscious and also weary of a younger man, even if it is only a few years. But “Uncle Mike” knows what he wants, and it isn’t the normal “no relationship” girls he is usually drawn to.
Will Mike the Mechanic be able to get Party Planner Anne see him as an adult and possible life mate? Or will someone try to keep them apart?
I love this new author’s writing style, you are able to see into both characters minds, and see the situations unfolding as the story progresses. She does not sugarcoat the tough situations or decisions that need to be made. Not only was I rooting for Mike by mid-way through the story but I can’t wait for the next story (Callie’s) to come out! Start Me Up is a fast paced and super fun read perfect for the beach this summer.
