Lizzie Howard has always been focused on her career as an emergency room trauma doctor. But when family stress causes her to make a terrible mistake she is forced to take leave from the hospital. That’s how she ends up covering her best friend’s maternity leave at the Jewell Cove family practice. Coming home to Jewell Cove was just what Josh Collins needed after the death of his wife. He needed time to process his loss as well as the shambles of his marriage and being a doctor in a small town practice is a perfect fit for him. As Lizzie and Josh work together they find themselves drawn to each other and before long they are in a passionate relationship. If only they can both let go of their fears and find the love waiting for them.
Summer on Lovers’ Island is the first book in the Jewell Cove series that I’ve read but I immediately went out and bought them all! I’ve been missing out on a treat. I adored Josh and Lizzie, wanting them to figure out what I already knew, they were perfect together. Donna Alward delivers a sweet and emotional trip, with characters that drag you into their world and make you never want to leave. Readers can’t go wrong here!
