Ambassador Simeon Blue, brother to the leader of the Feline Guild, reluctantly agrees to accompany elven Prince Orophin home to the Second Kingdom. The mountain lion shifter detests the politics which treat the blood demon population as slaves. In truth it was the reason Phin left, but word has reached him that his father the King is very ill and a distant cousin is making a play for the throne and the interloper hates blood demons.
By the time they arrive the King is barely alive and rumors are rampant. All believe that Phin is back to take the throne. But what would the citizens of the Second Kingdom do if they learned that blood demon slave/soldier Asharkan ‘Asher’ Iblis is Phin’s older half brother and the rightful heir to the throne. The longer Simeon is with Asher the more he comes to realize that the blood demon’s integrity and decency is just what the Second Kingdom needs. Simeon is also convinced that Asher is exactly what he needs. Bonding with the mountain lion and taking the throne, one is going to be much easier than the other. But which?
The plot thickens and nearly boils over in the fourth Supernatural Bounty Hunter story. Fans of this series will love The Demon’s Blood for the intense, suspenseful plot and multi-layered characters, while new readers should work their way through the books in numerical order. Unlikely lovers Simeon and Asher manage to make their romance believable as dangerous political plots swirl around them. The Demon’s Blood is deeper and darker than most. This series keeps getting more and more exciting and provocative.
