New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Gena Showalter ignites a thrilling new paranormal series with this breathtaking tale of a warrior enslaved by desire, and the woman who frees his soul. THE SWEETEST TEMPTATION . . . Black ops agent Solomon Judah awakens caged and bound in a twisted zoo where otherworlders are the main attraction. Vika Lukas, the owner’s daughter, is tasked with Solo’s care and feeding. The monster inside him yearns to kill her on sight, even though she holds the key to his escape. But the human side of him realizes the beautiful deaf girl is more than she seems—she’s his. THE ULTIMATE PRICE . . . Vika endures the captives’ taunts and loathing, hoping to keep them alive even if she can’t free them. Only, Solo is different— he protects her. But as hostility turns to forbidden romance, his feelings for her will be used against him . . . and he’ll be put to a killer test.
Vika Lucas has lived her life in her own private hell. Her father sold his soul for magic and uses Vika in his devilish circus of monsters. Vika is patiently waiting for the right moment to escape and free all of her father’s captives. She seeks a world of peace and freedom but it seems unlikely she will ever have that—until her father’s latest captive arrives. Solomon Judah is an otherworldly assassin. He has awakened to a circus nightmare, trapped in a cage along with other beings like him. The only bright spot is the beautiful human in charge of feeding him. He should want to hurt her but there is something about her that makes him want to protect her. Their mutual connection leads to plans of escape. But can they survive the evils set out to destroy them both and is it possible to find love in some place so dark? Gena Showalter once again opens up a dark world and gives her readers a powerful story dripping with hope and love in her first Otherworldly Assassin novel, Last Kiss Goodnight. Showalter’s paranormal world-building is unparalleled. The Cirque de Monstrés created by Showalter is frightening and riveting. The reader cannot help but be captivated as Solo and Vika give us a taste of their current predicament. I felt my heart break for both characters as I learned of their past and present trials. These two are bonded by great tragedy. The story is very dark it is almost too sad but there is this pull that absolutely grabs the reader. It’s the romance and hope of it all. It’s that part that lives inside of all of us that rallies when things get tough and pushes for that happily ever after. If you want a novel that gives you a fantastic story full of passion and depth then Last Kiss Goodnight is for you!
