The Seventy-Seventh Precinct in Philadelphia is manned by unique officers to say the least.  They are also the ones called upon by the city when strange or unexplained events or creatures are found.  For instance, Officer Alex Wolf began life as an actual wolf.  Yes, a wolf who was cursed to become human.

Life as a human still sometimes stumps the one time wolf, but Alex is doing his best to cope. Plus, he’s head over heels in love with ACO Jason Shen and the feelings are mutual. Jason is well aware of Alex’s past.  The biggest bump in their romance is Jason’s own family who don’t approve of his sexuality and they refuse to accept his feelings for the officer.

The unusual nature of the precinct‘s calls has unfortunately brought them to the attention of State Paranormal, a pretentious group at best.  Butting their noses in they’ve sent vampire Captain Valbuena to oversee the squad room.

A recent sighting of jackalopes which were thought to be nothing more than hoax animals has Alex and the ACO scrambling to capture the creatures.  The officer has his hands full attempting an adult relationship with Jason, catching jackalopes, and dealing with the vampire Captain’s interest in him.  Dealing with his lover’s jealousy is something Alex has never had to handle in the past.  It was definitely much simpler to be a wolf.

Expect the unexpected as Jackalopes and Woofen-Poofs take center stage in book five of the absolutely entertaining Offbeat Crimes series.  Magic and mayhem are mixed up in this wild romantic drama where anything and everything unusual can happen.  The imaginative character driven storyline is utterly captivating.  Jackalopes and Woofen-Poofs is a great addition to a most definitely original kind of series.  The real romance between Alex and Jason grounds this plotline perfectly.  It’s a crazy ride so strap in and enjoy a most delightful time.  Can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.

The Seventy-Seventh Precinct is well known throughout the city for the special cases they are sent to cover.  They deal with the ‘freaky-deeky’ cases and, the officers and detectives themselves are just as unique.

For instance, Officer Alex Wolf was born an actual wolf, not a werewolf, a wolf.  His partner at the precinct is Krisk, a lizard-man for lack of a better description.  Sent on patrol they find small animals in an alleyway who seem to be mummified.  They aren’t sure what is causing this and call out Animal Control Officer Jason Shen for backup on the case.

Up until now Wolf hasn’t had much luck in the romance department.  His lack of understanding certain human nuances always causes problems.  But every time he’s around ACO Shen it’s hard to concentrate.  Jason really smells good.  The question is whether to try and possibly get his heart broken again or just ignore the wonderful scent the ACO gives off.

Patrolling the streets Wolf and Krisk come across yet another mummified animal.  This time it’s a cat who looks like something from the pyramids, but somehow a tiny kitten managed to survive and she’s latched onto Wolf with all her might.  Calling out ACO Shen once more gives Wolf the courage to ask him out, to take another chance on love.

And they’ve got to figure out what or who is causing these mummies before it begins to affect humans.  One thing is certain, there’s never a dull moment at the 77th.

The latest offering from the Off Beat Crimes series brings another oddball case to light in Feral Dust Bunnies.  At the same time a sweet and sexy romance blossoms between an unusual Officer and an ACO.  As with the previous books in this series, Feral Dust Bunnies has a quirky layer and a slightly spooky flavor.  Best of all there are feisty, unique characters who make the plotline absolutely riveting.   Readers will thoroughly enjoy this original tale.

Brothers Snowden and Rowan Hadley are barely making ends meet at the lake house their parents left them.  The inheritance which would have made life easier is stuck in probate because of some greedy relatives contesting the will.  Without the funds to fight them the brothers are having a rough time surviving.

Bear tracks in the snow are a recent worry, yet when Rowan comes face to face with the awesome creature the bear acts more human than animal.  Days pass and Rowan begins to relax around the bear.  Discovering a naked man in the woods drastically changes their perception of what is going on.

Arcadius ‘Cade’ Meade reluctantly tells them a wild tale of magic, of his own arrogance and stupidity, and most importantly of his innocent brother’s plight.  Cade’s actions had dire consequences for his younger brother Griffin.

As Rowan and Snowden become involved in Cade’s dilemma they risk their own lives.  Developing feelings between each set of brother’s could cost them all more than they are able to pay, yet they can’t turn their backs on what the future could possibly hold.

Author Angel Martinez pens a truly unique, tantalizing tale of magical power and passion.   A clever blend of fantasy and romance comes alive in this special story.  Rowan and Snowden’s special bond brings an original perspective to the plotline.   Wild Rose, Silent Snow isn’t too be missed as readers are drawn into this riveting and chilling love story of magic and mayhem.

The catastrophe at Berkley, where scientists experimented with tech and magic, caused Random Anomalous Events to periodically appear.  An Event resulted in beings of legend and myth to fall from their dimension into Earth’s reality.  Thus AURA was created – the Agency of Unnatural Resettlement and Assimilation – manned by human and others.

The NYC division of AURA is run by fae Captain Val Hartgrove whose human lover Quinn controls powerful magic.  At the moment members of the division are taking bets as to whether centaur Sergeant Ness and flighty incubus medic Sinistrus will last as a couple.  It’s a surprise to everyone that they’ve made it this long.  Apparently they truly do love each other.

Pixie Kellen is also on the medical team.  He’s a quiet loner who Sin loves to ruffle.  There’s something secretive about the pixie that rubs the incubus wrong.  He doesn’t have time to figure Kellen out right now because the Events are dropping more and more dangerous and powerful beings into this world.  Something strange is going on. Something worse than ever before.  Finding out whose responsible is the only way to stop the madness before someone dies.

The fantastic AURA series continues to deliver complex action packed, emotionally charged tales of love and adventure, death, and destruction.  Book three blazes forth with Kellen’s Awakening.  A clever blend of tender feelings and ruthless objectives bulldozes full steam ahead.  Kellen is the key to it all while Sin will become the catalyst.  Another AURA page turner, Kellen’s Awakening will have readers laughing and crying.  This series never disappoints.

A bizarre accident caused by scientists at Berkley tears a hole in reality.  Strange creatures of myth and fairy tale literally drop from their reality into our own without rhythm or reason.  It was termed RARE or Random Anomalous Reality Events.  To deal with these beings who are torn from their lives into ours AURA is created to help them – the Agency of Unnatural Resettlement and Assimilation.

Recently a battle with a deadly lich queen left the ranks of officers at AURA badly decimated, including the loss of their leader.  Elf Valerian Hartgrove has tentatively taken on the position and responsibilities as the new acting Captain.  His human lover Quinn also agreed to jump from larceny to legitimate employment at AURA.  Bursting with magical power Quinn will no doubt become a valuable asset once he can truly control his gift.

The latest event brings a pair of battle Elves onto the streets of Tokyo.  Sage Blackdrake and Ash Bloodroot were fighting an enemy with swords one minute and dropped onto a city street the next.  Understandably disoriented the Elf lovers are at least at the moment very dangerous.

To stop a disaster in the making young Elf Officer Flax Wolfheart, a skilled hunter and tracker for AURA is sent through their version of a wormhole to Tokyo.  Flax is a good warrior and valued team member.  His unfortunate infatuation with Val is a bit of a problem, especially now that he’s been told to train Quinn, but aside from that he’s a very good officer.

With so few officers left and the new recruits green it’s all hands on deck which is weighing Flax down.  He’s responsible for bringing in the battle ready Elves, training Quinn, and working with Quinn to find a killer turning humans to stone.  And no one is aware that he has a sealed record of drug abuse and rehab.  The young Elf seeks the Captain’s approval as well.  But at what cost is the question.

Complications abound and an Elf begins to make all the wrong moves in Flax’s Pursuit, the second intense story in the refreshingly unique AURA series.  Twists and turns and spooky killers pop up to fuel Flax’s Pursuit.  The lead characters are quite a handful, yet each has their own strong, vibrant voice exactly at the right time.  This original storyline intrigues and keeps the reader thoroughly engaged.  Hooked from beginning to end I Joyfully recommend Flax’s Pursuit.  Seriously addicting.
