Maria Garibaldi is a vet who runs an animal sanctuary for exotic animals that isn’t all that popular with some of her neighbors, but Maria takes all steps possible to be sure none of her animals or her sanctuary bring trouble to her town. But one night she is attacked in her home by unknown assailants, no slouch in the defense dept. Maria almost has the attackers taken care of when some new men show up. Maria can tell pretty quickly that these men are more than a step up from the ones who invaded her home. The question is: are they the good guys or more of the bad guys?
Major Jesse Moore is the alpha of his small and elite ex-military men of shifters who use their skills to defend other shifter communities and humans from the evil in the world. Jesse is also the brother of the alpha of the Wyoming Wolf pack. When his brother and sister-in-law locate and maybe convince a long lost cousin of his sister-in-laws to send him and his men to assist, they waste no time. That’s a good thing because when they arrive, it appears that someone else has an interest in Maria Garibaldi. Wasting no time, they step in to secure the enemy and figure out who is after Maria and more importantly why.
Maria and Jesse soon discover that one of her new animals is really a young shifter, could this be the reason for the attack or just a coincidence that he was there when the attack happened. As facts are quickly gathered on who injured the young boy and other happenings, it is evident that everything that happened to both Maria and her injured patient are the same people who have been attacking other shifters and their mates. The quest now is for the three of them to wipe out this threat and rescue shifters that have been kidnapped before any more harm can be done. Along the way, Jesse and Maria learn that their fast attraction is actually a mating and they now have to juggle their passion with the danger facing them in order for them to get home and be able to explore the future just beckoning to them.
A military man shifter and a vet with druidic powers learn that passion can make even the most dangerous situation manageable when love is the backup in Wolf Quest. Seeing as Jesse and Maria came together and experienced the lust/passion of mates meeting for the first time, quickly told me that this was going to be one fast paced story and it certainly was. I loved watching how Maria learned of her heritage and learned to control her powers under anything but the best circumstances. Seeing Jesse accept Maria as his mate and making the adjustments to include her in his life and to protect her from any harm just made their story more intense. I really loved seeing how the long arcing storyline of Lenore, the injured druid, was advanced and how Maria’s family would now be involved. I have no doubt that Maria and Jesse will not only grow and love intensely but also use their strengths to help defeat the evil that is just waiting to strike. Ms. D’Arc’s Wolf Quest is full of suspense and passion in equal amounts with just enough humor and danger to keep you flipping the pages as fast as possible to learn the ending. I can’t wait until the next chapter in the Brotherhood of Blood series.
