Magnus Redstone is a werecouger and while he helps his brothers with both the Clan and their construction company, he will never have to worry about being the Alpha as he is in the middle of his five brothers.  Magnus has been aware for a few years now that his attraction to one of the local vampires could be much more.  But because the majority of his clan and the Others don’t think much of vampires as a whole, he hasn’t done more than be friends with the sexy Miranda.

Miranda is a vampire who is recovering from being held by an evil warlock. It just so happened that the night that Miranda was making her last stand is the same night the warlock holding her was taken out by members of the Redstone Clan and Magnus was there.  It was a very lucky thing as Miranda would have injured her saviors due to her need for blood, but she was able to recognize Magnus so that night didn’t end horribly.

Magnus knows that Miranda would have never had attempted to harm anyone if not for how she had been held for so long without blood while being leached for hers.  Once he had her in his arms, weak as a kitten even for a vampire, all Magnus knew is that he had to help Miranda regain her strength and get back to her normal self.  While that is going on, Magnus and Miranda learn of an uprising that is about to tear apart the vampires in Vegas and other places.  Knowing just how bad this could be for Others and humans alike, Magnus and Miranda begin to take steps to help in the uprising before Vegas drips with blood. Before everything is over, Magnus and Miranda will do more than just stop a bloodbath in Vegas—they will also be involved in the beginning steps that will bring the Vampires and the Others into a closer working relationship, which is something that will be needed in the near future if the things everyone is hearing through the Were/Other grapevines are true.

A sexy vampire and her determined werecougar mate learn not only mating can happen to anyone and everyone, but also just how to bring down a vampire rising in Magnus. Miranda fights even when offered the solution from Magnus to help her regain her strength. I loved how Magnus stood by Miranda even against his own clan in the beginning. But I also loved how the basic goodness in Miranda brought not only the Redstone Clan into accepting her, but also allowed them to give the Vampire Master a chance to prove that blood drinkers are not all bad. There were several times when I wondered if Miranda and Magnus would have the chance to find their forever.  I truly loved just how Miranda and Magnus came out on top after the last showdown.  Magnus takes a journey filled with danger and mixed it with passion and family love (many types of families) to come out with a story that was a perfect few hours escape.

Bob Redstone is one of the Redstone brothers, the alphas who run the very elite Redstone Clan.  Bob, called Bobcat by friends and family, has been asked to take on a mission to the Were Lords by his clan to show the Lords that the Redstone clan and the Master Vampire in Vegas are ready to assist in the upcoming showdown with the Venifucus—the enemy of all Others.  On that mission, Bob meets a young woman who has sought shelter with the Lords— one that pulls his emotions in more than one way.

Serena Wicklow is a bobcat who hasn’t had the best of life so far. First, she was orphaned, and then she was abused by a clan of bobcats when she was discovered by a lieutenant’s mate. Now, years later, Serena has escaped from that clan and is trying to regain her sense of just who she is and her humanity. Serena didn’t count on chancing upon a visitor who made her want to not only roam with him in their animal forms, but to trust him enough to trust him with her human self.

When another attack by the Venifucus makes that a shifter warrior who is also a loner must be located and determined if he is safe or not, Bob and Serena are sent out on the mission on the way back to Bob’s home.  Serena is chosen because the last known area that this shifter was known to be was in her old clan’s area, and Bob because he wasn’t about to let Serena try and locate the shifter without him.  Bob and Serena started to bond during the few short days since they’d met, however using their wits to find and, if necessary, free the shifter and take care of Serena’s adopted family is going to really push those new and fragile bonds.  By the time they finally head back to Bob’s clan, Serena and Bob will either have mated or will have been torn apart forever.

When the Goddess mates a shy and abused woman together with a normally laid-back dominant Alpha, until his mate is threatened, the results will have the very earth shaking before it’s all over in Bobcat.  I was truly amazed at how quickly Serena came to trust Bob after learning about her background.  Yet, I could see how that trust could happen when faced with Bob’s easy going Alpha-ness.  I loved how Serena could stand up to anyone, even Bob, when she believed in what she was saying or what she needed to do.  I also loved watching the cat and mouse game that Serena and Bob played during the final showdown. Oh and I really wasn’t kidding about the earth shaking before it was over.  Seeing just how well- matched Bob and Serena were by the end of the book showed me that their future would be one of much love, even with the war that was just on the horizon.  Bobcat is full of passion and suspense with threads of danger and humor—just enough to keep you reading to see what is going to happen next.

Steve Redstone is a werecougar, a former Green Beret, and the second in command of the Redstone Clan, although his oldest brother is the Alpha.  When Steve, who is known by his friends as Red, is contacted by an old Army buddy and asked to keep an eye on the guy’s sister while she is partying in Vegas, of course he agrees.  But what Red figured would be a cakewalk becomes much, much more before the night is over.

Trisha Morrow is a water nymph as is her father and her natural brothers.  However, Trisha is used to hiding her gifts from those around her so that no one knows that she is an “other.”  When Trisha joins her college buddies on a trip to Vegas as a special bridal bachelorette party, she finds out that some secrets are definitely worth sharing with one special and sexy man.

Red gets Trisha and her friends out of the bar they were in with the help of his Clan and quickly realizes that the women aren’t drunk, but have been doused with something.  The questions are why and with what.  Luckily, Red can lean on both his Clan members and those of their allies, unluckily at first for Red, Trisha comes out of the drugs quickly and discovers just who Red is and why he was at the bar that night.  Attraction becomes much more when Red and Trisha discover they are fated mates, but that isn’t the most serious problem at this time. The problem is finding out who is after Trisha and stopping them before any innocent bystanders get hurt. The bad guys never knew just how complicated this job was going to be when Red and Trisha team up and get lots of help when it counts from family and friends.

They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and that goes triple when Others and Weres are involved.  Trisha and Red totally agree with this saying as they put another strike into the group who is out to destroy all of those who follow the Lady and her light in Red.  I had to chuckle when Red agreed so easily to keep an eye on Trisha and her friends and then suddenly has his hands full. Knowing that Trisha had spent so many years hiding her abilities had me wondering how fast she would come out to Red and show him the true her.  I loved how they slightly twisted the truth to Trisha’s friends to keep the truth a secret and yet made it so plausible. Very sneaky, Others! Watching Red and Trisha fall in love as they hunted and battled their enemies was one of the best parts. Red combines suspense and passion with touches of humor that told me that yet another of the Redstone brothers had found and claimed his fated mate and the happiness that follows.

Lindsey Tate is a human who is doing her best to right an old wrong that her grandfather did many years ago.  In preparation for the celebration quest she must take, Lindsey has moved to her grandfather’s cabin and has gotten a waitressing job to pay the bills.  It’s almost time for the celebration when Lindsey meets a man who totally gets her attention.  Of course it happens now, when Lindsey really doesn’t expect to survive the Goddess’ ruling that will hopefully even-out the score.  Lindsey is trying to avoid the local werewolf clan until the time is right for her offering to the Goddess to correct the past wrong done to them.

Griffon Redstone is the alpha of his Clan and the oldest of his five brothers and his baby sister.  While Grif and his family are cats, his pack has accepted shifters and even some mated humans.  Grif’s entire family is still reeling from the murder of their mother, but especially his baby sister who found her.  Now that it’s time to begin the healing, Grif has taken his sister and traveled to a place in the mountains that has always given him peace.  He is really hoping that spending some time in the mountains away from the rest of the family and clan will be enough to help him and his sister recover.  Things seem to be slowly moving forward when Grif meets a waitress who has his cat wanting immediate attention.

Grif finds out pretty fast that Lindsey is not wanted or liked by the wolf clan who lives on this mountain, but he can’t figure out why at first.  However, when they come to make their opinions known, Grif takes a stand to protect her—not the best way to keep your head down when you are just visiting another clan’s homelands.  Little by little, Grif and his inner cat learn about Lindsey and stumble in on her celebration.  They are both surprised by the Goddess’s response to Lindsey’s plea to make up for the harm her grandfather did to the wolf clan.  However, Grif’s inner cat is beyond happy, because now Lindsey can be his true mate—that is, if they can get her past the first rough aspects that most shifters go through as they come into their powers.  If that isn’t enough, it appears the same ancient enemy that has been attacking those who follow the Goddess’ light has found them, and intends for all the shifters on that mountain to remain there permanently—just not alive.

Love can strike at any time, especially when the timing just doesn’t work for either party…like the Goddess is going to pay any attention to the pesky matters of day-to-day living in her grand scheme of things.  Grif and Lindsey learn firsthand just how hard it is go circumvent the Goddess’s plans in Grif.  After reading the book where Grif’s mother is murdered, I knew that the Redstone brothers’ books would be edgy and have an overshadowing of sorrow in them.  I was right there with fingers crossed as Grif and Lindsey first met, cautiously got to know one another, and then fell paws over tails in love.  I’m honestly not sure who was hardest hit.  Was it Lindsey when she found herself with a new dual personality and unable to control the raging lust she had toward Grif from the very beginning?  Or was it Grif, because he had to try and help Lindsey and his sister while not only keeping them protected, he also struggled with his inner cat who wanted to claim Lindsey as their mate?  Having a mate who didn’t grow up as a shifter and was suddenly thrown in can be nerve racking to a male.  I gave large cheers as Grif and Lindsey were not only able to overcome the hurdles that could have torn them apart, but they also defeated yet another of the arms that were trying to destroy those who live and love in the Goddess’s light.  Grif is fast paced and filled with the best kind of suspense and passion until the very end.  I’m looking forward to watching each of the Redstone brothers meet their mates.

Rocco (“Rocky”) Garibaldi is one of the most magical of the Were-shifters—a grizzly bear.  Rocky has worked hard both in his career and with the Were Lords in helping to keep all Others as safe as possible.  For the most part, Rocky has a great and fulfilling life.  But there is one thing that Rocky regrets and that is not having the one woman he loves—a childhood friend who married his best friend. Rocky moved away from his friends right after they married knowing he would not be able to see them daily and endure the ache.  Then, Rocky gets his most secret wish one night and more.

Maggie Hobson is nine-months pregnant and on the run from the people who killed her husband a few months ago. Now, despite being scared, constantly looking over her shoulder and about to give birth, Maggie turns to the one man she hopes will be able to protect her and her children.  Maggie grew up with two remarkable men and married one of them, now she is headed to the only other man she has loved.  Having promised her late husband she would go to Rocky right after she learned their secret, Maggie is now keeping that promise.

Rocky goes out to see who is in the car in his drive and receives the first of many, many shocks that night.  The first shock is Maggie is about to give birth to twins.  The second is that her husband, and his best friend, is dead, and the next shock is that she knows Rocky is a shifter.  Rocky helps Maggie that night and sets himself up as her and the twins’ protector, although he really wants a much more personal bond with Maggie and her boys.  Maggie is taking life one day at a time, and the first step is to gain her strength and take care of her newborn twins. It seems almost too easy for her to fall back in love with Rocky. After all, he was her second love in high school.  As each day passes, Maggie learns more about the Others and those who threaten them—Others who now include her boys. Maggie gives Rocky a leg up in defeating at least those who killed her husband when she turns over information from her husband just as a new deadly threat begins to threaten the new love and life that Maggie and Rocky are building. When it comes time for action, Maggie will learn the true strength in magic and love as the Others win the first of what might be a long skirmish with a very old enemy.

The Goddess is smiling as Rocky and Maggie are given a second chance to live a life of passion-filled adventure in Rocky.  My heart wanted to break with all that Maggie was forced to go through before she received so much in Rocky and her twin boys.  I loved how calm and focused Rocky was no matter what the situation was and no matter just how shaken he was.  I enjoyed watching as Maggie and Rocky journeyed along a path that could have torn them apart as easily as it bound them together.  The antics of the newly born twins had me laughing several times.  I truly hope that we get a chance to see them growing up as this series goes on.  I can already tell that while the first battle has happened, this is going to be one long and harsh war before it’s all over.  Rocky is packed full of suspense, passion, and the love of friends and family wrapped up in a book that has already become a re-read for me.
