Agnor is the newest Starlord and also a captain of the newest starship, and as such, he was able to hand-pick his crew.  Agnor was very exacting when picking out just who would man his ship with him during their first voyage.  He is well aware that a few of his picks shocked, but Agnor knew what he was looking for.  One of his most shocking picks was for his Loadmaster, a very shy and young girl named Betsua.

Betsua was as amazed as everyone else when she was offered the job, but she jumped for the chance to leave her aunt’s house and her boring job.  Betsua has used her telekinesis to help her do her job, but she has been hiding just how strong that talent is, and that isn’t the only thing she has been hiding.  Betsua is worried what will happen to her life if her secrets become known.  She has always been on the outside of life looking in, and she isn’t sure she can handle being even more of an outsider.

Agnor knew that Betsua was shy, but he was not about to let that keep her from making friends with her shipmates or to stop him from exploring the attraction he has felt towards his newest shipmate.  Betsua allows herself to become involved with her captain, and soon learns just what she was missing both in friendship and passion, and how it affected her already strong talents.  Agnor knew there was something very special about Betsua, and he learned just how correct he was when the ship’s real secret mission was revealed.  By the time they are heading back home, Betsua and Agnor will have begun to break the back of the enemy, and their entire world will know just how extraordinary Betsua really is—something Agnor knew even before her talents came out in the open.

A newly minted Starlord and a young Loadmaster will discover love and the secret that lets their enemy control talents in Shy Talent.  I already knew that Agnor was both intelligent and caring, so I wasn’t surprised by how he picked his new crew.  Nor was I surprised when he took Betsua, not only under his wing, but also to his bed when he learned the attraction was mutual.  I enjoyed watching as Betsua bloomed as her relationship with Agnor grew and also with her shipmates.  I really loved how Agnor’s confidence and support gave Betsua the confidence to use all of her talents to help destroy their enemy and bring a new and safer future to their universe.  Shy Talent brings the end of an arc in which Council worlds end their enemy, the Collective, while giving two very special people a love to last the ages.  I found it full of passion, the making of lasting friendships, and the perfect amount of suspense.

MATT by Bianca D’ArcMatt by Bianca D'Arc
Series: Redstone Clan #5
Published by Self Published Genres: Paranormal

Matt Redstone is the youngest boy of the Redstone brothers.  He is an architect for the Redstone construction company and has been involved with a job that will be on the land of one of his friends—a vampire who is part of the blood brotherhood.  So, when problems started coming up with the project, Matt was the perfect person to send to smooth the county commissioners and protesters, who seem against the housing community they are trying to build for the shifters in the area.

Morgan Chase is a Florida panther with very bad memories of what it means to live with a clan.  As a young child, she was found and adopted by Marc LaTour, master vampire and part of the blood brotherhood, and she now is an attorney who works for most of the brotherhood.  When Morgan is asked to work with Matt to see if they can come up with a blueprint plan that will ease the concerns and give them the go-ahead to start construction, she agrees.  After all, it’s not the first time she and Matt have met.

Yet, both Matt and Morgan are taken aback a bit by the instant and strong attraction that hits them both the minute they see each other again.  Once they team-up to begin the new set of plans, that proves to be the easiest part of their problem.  They soon discover that there is a mole in the vineyard, and they have done more than just tried to put up road blocks.  They are also part of the Venifucus, and they are trying to use the same area that Matt wants to build with to help bring over the followers of light’s worst enemy:  Elspeth the Destroyer.  To defeat the Venifucus, it will take all the shifters in the area and a call for help for more, plus the vampires, at least in the night, and an unexpected bit of help from an even more magical person.  Matt and Morgan are more than ready to explore what their mated life together will be like, but first they have to take care of business and clear the area of the darkness brought in by the Venifucus followers.  By the time the fight is over, either the light will have won or darkness will come and change Earth as it has been known—or are those really the only choices?

An attraction ignored is given a second chance in California when light must one again defeat darkness in Matt.  I have waited to see just what kind of mate Matt would get.  I found that Morgan was the perfect mate for Matt, and I loved how hard he worked to prove to Morgan that living in a clan didn’t mean losing your independence or even enduring abuse.  I enjoyed watching as Morgan slowly opened up for Matt and even to the other shifters to see that her old clan was a mess, and she could trust Matt with her love.  The final fight was one truly worth a fight of light against darkness, and I also loved that Morgan and Matt would have their chance at a loving future.  However, I soon discovered that all the action wasn’t quite over, and I really, really can’t wait until the next book as this overall arc comes out, because I think it will be a doozy.  Matt is full of fast-paced action with passion and suspense mixed in. It’s a great ending to the matings of the Redstone brothers.

TALENT FOR TROUBLE by Bianca D’ArcTalent for Trouble by Bianca D'Arc
Series: Starlords #2
Published by Self Published Genres: Paranormal

Darak is a newly appointed StarLord, and he is a member of one of the more influential families on Geneth Mar.  One of the reasons for this is the elevated status of his cousin and his cousin-in-law.  All three of them received that status while rescuing Jana from the Collective. Darak was instantly drawn to Jana, and he is determined to help her heal any way he can.

Jana is a talent who was kidnapped as a young girl and became part of the Collective.  Jana slowly worked her way up and became a battalion commander—one who, while under the command of the Collective, worked to defeat everything Darak and his world stands for.  Now, she is slowly recovering from her time under the Collective and learning/remembering what it is like to be able to do what you want when you want. Jana has very few memories from her time as a captive, and yet what she does remember mostly causes her pain and fear.

Jana isn’t surprised when she is pretty much thrown off of Geneth Mar, but she is surprised and hurt to learn that it was suggested by Darak that she be placed on his ship.  Darak and his ship were sent on one mission yet, the next thing they know, the ship is directed to a world that Jana almost destroyed while under the control of the Collective, and then it moves on to her home world.  Their mission is to capture a high-ranking member of the Collective and take him back to stand trial.  When the name of this individual sparks some memories in Jana, the mission turns even more personal.  The question is, as the danger ramps-up, can Darak and Jana find a way to take one of the Collective on a planet they rule over and get them and their ship away successfully?

The heart always knows, so when a mentally and physically hurt talent meets a man who just wants to help her, love is the outcome in Talent for Trouble.  I was amazed as I learned just what all Jana had survived, and I was very happy that she would have a chance to live her life as it should have been.  It took me a while to believe Darak was actually wanting Jana for herself and not for what she could mean for him.  Yet, once I saw them on the ship, I knew that Jana’s happiness was his total goal.  I loved watching as Jana learned more of herself and saw that she wasn’t just the cold-hearted commander that she believed at first, and that she was actually loved by people she helped.  Seeing Darak and Jana not only become a kicking team, but also watching as they fell in love during their mission made their journey even stronger.  I can’t wait to see how Jana and Darak grow as the series goes on in glimpses I hope will happen.  Talent for Trouble is a tale of how a special couple not only fell in love, but how they gained ,a bright future for their planets by overcoming true evil.

MAGNUS by Bianca D’ArcMagnus by Bianca D'Arc
Series: Redstone Clan #3
Published by Self Published Genres: Paranormal

Magnus Redstone is a werecouger and while he helps his brothers with both the Clan and their construction company, he will never have to worry about being the Alpha as he is in the middle of his five brothers.  Magnus has been aware for a few years now that his attraction to one of the local vampires could be much more.  But because the majority of his clan and the Others don’t think much of vampires as a whole, he hasn’t done more than be friends with the sexy Miranda.

Miranda is a vampire who is recovering from being held by an evil warlock. It just so happened that the night that Miranda was making her last stand is the same night the warlock holding her was taken out by members of the Redstone Clan and Magnus was there.  It was a very lucky thing as Miranda would have injured her saviors due to her need for blood, but she was able to recognize Magnus so that night didn’t end horribly.

Magnus knows that Miranda would have never had attempted to harm anyone if not for how she had been held for so long without blood while being leached for hers.  Once he had her in his arms, weak as a kitten even for a vampire, all Magnus knew is that he had to help Miranda regain her strength and get back to her normal self.  While that is going on, Magnus and Miranda learn of an uprising that is about to tear apart the vampires in Vegas and other places.  Knowing just how bad this could be for Others and humans alike, Magnus and Miranda begin to take steps to help in the uprising before Vegas drips with blood. Before everything is over, Magnus and Miranda will do more than just stop a bloodbath in Vegas—they will also be involved in the beginning steps that will bring the Vampires and the Others into a closer working relationship, which is something that will be needed in the near future if the things everyone is hearing through the Were/Other grapevines are true.

A sexy vampire and her determined werecougar mate learn not only mating can happen to anyone and everyone, but also just how to bring down a vampire rising in Magnus. Miranda fights even when offered the solution from Magnus to help her regain her strength. I loved how Magnus stood by Miranda even against his own clan in the beginning. But I also loved how the basic goodness in Miranda brought not only the Redstone Clan into accepting her, but also allowed them to give the Vampire Master a chance to prove that blood drinkers are not all bad. There were several times when I wondered if Miranda and Magnus would have the chance to find their forever.  I truly loved just how Miranda and Magnus came out on top after the last showdown.  Magnus takes a journey filled with danger and mixed it with passion and family love (many types of families) to come out with a story that was a perfect few hours escape.

BOBCAT by Bianca D’ArcBobcat by Bianca D'Arc
Series: Redstone Clan #4
Published by Self Published Genres: Paranormal

Bob Redstone is one of the Redstone brothers, the alphas who run the very elite Redstone Clan.  Bob, called Bobcat by friends and family, has been asked to take on a mission to the Were Lords by his clan to show the Lords that the Redstone clan and the Master Vampire in Vegas are ready to assist in the upcoming showdown with the Venifucus—the enemy of all Others.  On that mission, Bob meets a young woman who has sought shelter with the Lords— one that pulls his emotions in more than one way.

Serena Wicklow is a bobcat who hasn’t had the best of life so far. First, she was orphaned, and then she was abused by a clan of bobcats when she was discovered by a lieutenant’s mate. Now, years later, Serena has escaped from that clan and is trying to regain her sense of just who she is and her humanity. Serena didn’t count on chancing upon a visitor who made her want to not only roam with him in their animal forms, but to trust him enough to trust him with her human self.

When another attack by the Venifucus makes that a shifter warrior who is also a loner must be located and determined if he is safe or not, Bob and Serena are sent out on the mission on the way back to Bob’s home.  Serena is chosen because the last known area that this shifter was known to be was in her old clan’s area, and Bob because he wasn’t about to let Serena try and locate the shifter without him.  Bob and Serena started to bond during the few short days since they’d met, however using their wits to find and, if necessary, free the shifter and take care of Serena’s adopted family is going to really push those new and fragile bonds.  By the time they finally head back to Bob’s clan, Serena and Bob will either have mated or will have been torn apart forever.

When the Goddess mates a shy and abused woman together with a normally laid-back dominant Alpha, until his mate is threatened, the results will have the very earth shaking before it’s all over in Bobcat.  I was truly amazed at how quickly Serena came to trust Bob after learning about her background.  Yet, I could see how that trust could happen when faced with Bob’s easy going Alpha-ness.  I loved how Serena could stand up to anyone, even Bob, when she believed in what she was saying or what she needed to do.  I also loved watching the cat and mouse game that Serena and Bob played during the final showdown. Oh and I really wasn’t kidding about the earth shaking before it was over.  Seeing just how well- matched Bob and Serena were by the end of the book showed me that their future would be one of much love, even with the war that was just on the horizon.  Bobcat is full of passion and suspense with threads of danger and humor—just enough to keep you reading to see what is going to happen next.
