Five years ago, Rafael Castelli’s stepsister had died in a horrible car accident.  She’d been the one woman that he had loved, completely.  Ever since his loss of Lily, Rafael has seen her or some form of her in other women.  Chasing down another stranger that reminded him of Lily, Rafael is knocked sideways when he realizes it really is Lily Holloway.  Not wishing to ever let her slip through his fingers again, and to make up for the wrongs of the past, Rafael sets his course on Lily.

Lily Holloway was tired of the hurt that Rafael and she inflicted on one another, so when an opportunity presented itself, Lily took full advantage of the situation and walked away. She never dreamed that the handsome Italian would stumble across her in a town in Virginia that had nothing to do with the circles they had previously travelled.  However, Lily is adamant that she will play her role to the very bitter end.

Unwrapping the Castelli Secret is so much better than your average HP book.  It truly ignites your emotions and pulls you around the block as you turn each and every page.  Unwrapping the Castelli Secret is a book that will have you unable to look away until you have finished the story of Rafael and Lily, and if I’m completely honest, wanting to reread their tale.

Oh. My. Gosh!!  Unwrapping the Castelli Secret had me sympathizing with the love story that Rafael believed he had lost from the beginning.  Sure he admitted to not be the greatest man on earth in his musings, but I found I wanted the stranger he spotted to be his lost love, as well.  When Lily’s thoughts are visited, and you know exactly what she has done and why, I found that I was completely on her side.  What she did to Rafael was wrong in Unwrapping the Castelli Secret, however that cruel, mean, childish side of me yelled that it was completely justified because of everything that he had inflicted upon her.  That side didn’t even know the half of it in Unwrapping the Castelli Secret.

I fluctuated from the truth to be completely revealed, to wanting things to turn out differently, to wishing that Rafael had paid more in Unwrapping the Castelli Secret.  I found I was just a little bit vindictive towards this older man and what he did to the younger Lily, but in the end, she forgave him, and I am left feeling that their love is more of an obsession that will never completely be quenched.

Unwrapping the Castelli Secret is a book that will leave its imprint on you.  It’s not the run-of-the-mill HP that reads so much like all the others.  Unwrapping the Castelli Secret is one that will stand out, and you won’t soon forget it either.  I therefore, MUST Joyfully Recommend Unwrapping the Castelli Secret!

Paige Fielding had deeply betrayed Giancarlo Alessi ten years ago.  When Giancarlo discovered she was working for his celebrity mother, he was thrown for a loop.  However, he is determined to reap some sort of revenge from Paige, and he intends to do so on his terms.  Paige never had the chance to explain herself to her one true love, and when he enacts his plot, she is still unable to delve into the reasons behind her causing him pain. Soon, events play out that cause Giancarlo to question the character of Paige once again, but this time will he look deeper than the surface or react without questioning her again?

At the Count’s Bidding was a page-turning, sizzling hot read that had me wondering what Giancarlo would attempt to force on Paige as he pushed the envelope in At the Count’s Bidding!

At the story began, I found myself siding with Giancarlo, because even Paige admitted to herself that she had betrayed him, but she kept it all a mystery as At the Count’s Bidding unfolded.  Reading about Giancarlo’s ideas for revenge, which bordered on slightly sexy, added to the drama in this tale.  At the Count’s Bidding soon had me rooting for Paige before the halfway mark though the story.  She was just too sweet and likeable to not have had a good reason to betray Giancarlo years ago.  Knowing Giancarlo’s thoughts, and the fact that he was punishing himself as much as Paige, made At the Count’s Bidding even more enjoyable.  As the story progressed, his reasons for feeling betrayed came to light, and I found myself empathizing with him, too.

Both Giancarlo and Paige had good reasons for the choices that they made in the past as well as the present in At the Count’s Bidding.  I know at times it felt that Paige might be behaving as a doormat to Giancarlo, but she had a heavy dose of guilt that had plagued her for ten years and things that she never truly got to smooth over from their previous relationship.  However, when Giancarlo pushes too far, and Paige finds that there is no redemption for her, she is willing to let things lie in At the Count’s Bidding.  Giancarlo wasn’t content with leaving things that way, and he discovered some truths as well, so he looks for another confrontation with Paige in At the Count’s Bidding.  I have to say that confrontation was fabulously wonderful and made me think about a few things that Paige was right upon.  I also found that because of that scene, it threw At the Count’s Bidding into a Joyfully Recommended read category, and I still find myself rereading that scene from time to time!

Drusilla “Dru” Bennett worked for the competitive Cayo Vila for five years to pay off some debts.  Once those were finally cleared, and she knew how he really felt about her, she hands in her resignation for her PA position.  Cayo is reluctant to let the very efficient Drusilla go.  He is also very surprised to see her without her professional, icy mask that she had employed over the years.  Cayo means to hang on to Dru by any means necessary, and so he attempts to employ some questionable methods to realize that goal.  Soon Dru realizes exactly what she has released in prodding this devil in disguise, because he just can’t accept no as an answer.

A Devil in Disguise was priceless and extremely amusing, while still evoking a sort of emotional connection between the characters and the readers.  A Devil in Disguise had me rooting for Dru to show Cayo up, while at the same time feeling a little drawn to him as well.  The lengths that Dru went to in order to avoid Cayo in the beginning were gratifying.  I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that while Cayo attempted to go the route of the typical HP hero in the end, he was unable to because he really couldn’t. The fact that Dru stood up to Cayo several times in A Devil in Disguise was quite refreshing as well.

It was very satisfying that Cayo admits to himself that Dru throws him off balance in A Devil in Disguise, and early on to boot.  He soon realizes that because of a past incident, his roosters have finally come home to roost and Cayo needs to deal with them in A Devil in Disguise.  Cayo lies to himself about so many things, and Dru can’t stand the fact that she has this weakness, but watching these two come together in A Devil in Disguise is enthralling! A Devil in Disguise had me from the very first line and didn’t let go until the last.  I enjoyed all the byplay between Cayo and Dru, their growth and understanding of the deeper aspects of their characters, their realization that what they had hidden away was finally seeping out and making them take notice of things in A Devil in Disguise.  I liked that Cayo called it what it was with Dru’s character flaws, and showed her that things aren’t always what they seem.  I have to comment that while on the surface Cayo seems like the devil in A Devil in Disguise, I found myself wondering if Dru could fit that role as well.  That made the story even better for me, because I never felt like she would lie there and take things once her disguise had been kicked to the curb.  Everything about A Devil in Disguise was just so gratifying that I HAVE to Joyfully Recommend A Devil in Disguise.
