Life has never been easy or simple for Blake Louis.  With a drug addicted mother, unknown father, and uncaring relatives who raised him, tolerated him and little else he’s never had a free ride.  Blake is also burdened with a secret that he doesn’t fully understand though it’s an integral part of him. He’s a shifter, a bobcat shifter.  His mother thought it was a hallucination, his aunt and uncle felt it was a demon to be beaten from Blake’s body. He left the day he turned eighteen.

Drifting from one ranch to the next over the years Blake picked up many skills along the way always hoping to find a place to plant some roots.  He wanted to settle down and make a home.  Unfortunately, the moment they found out he was gay problems began.  Blake also had to let his bobcat free on occasion and sometimes that was difficult too.

The White Ranch is the best place he’s worked at for as long as Blake can remember. The owners, the White family are fair and decent bosses.  Their youngest son, Jared has become a good friend though Blake tries to keep some distance because of his huge crush on the rancher.   And all the ranches in the area came together to build a place called the Love Shack where the men can blow off steam, including using the back rooms.  Having his sexuality not be a problem is a new concept for Blake so it’s taking some time for him to openly visit the Love Shack though it hasn’t stopped his dreams of Jared.  If Blake can quietly let his bobcat free without worry he will never want to leave.  Dreaming of a home with Jared is too much to hope for…

Blake’s Home takes a matter of fact approach to several ‘touchy’ subject matters and comes out on top.  Child abuse, neglect, and a lack of love made a drifter out of Blake.  This character yearns for a home more than anything.  His sexuality and his shifting ability lead Blake to think he can never have what he wants, yet he goes through life with such nobility.  The storyline is laid out as a straightforward contemporary romance and then hits readers with differing sexuality situations and shifting abilities.  Cleverly balancing several plotlines in an entertaining way with characters who speak to the reader, Blake’s Home is a wonderful start to a new series.

Powerful witch and psychic, Natalie Fogel never doubts her visions. After a year away from her small town home and the two men she loves, she returns to share her ominous warning. Something deadly dangerous is coming for Halloween. Happy to see her friends and coven members again, she returns to living with the two lovers. She left to grow her skills but also to avoid some of the negative judgment about a group relationship. Zach and Logan are supportive and sexy but they aren't meant to be a couple and they need their lady to balance the relationship. Their love is strong but the triad is especially unpopular with Natalie's big brother. For Natalie, there's no place like home"?but she'll have to stand up for what's right to stay there happily.

Natalie is the most powerful witch and psychic in her small town and because of that she had to leave so that she could connect with others to learn, grow and understand her powers.  While Natalie loved her past year of discovery, she hated having to leave the two men she loved behind her.  Now an unending sense of danger that has been filling her visions has Natalie coming home to try and discover what is triggering her visions and to stop it from happening.  And best of all to reconnect with her men.

Zach and Logan knew why Natalie had to leave and even agreed with her reasons, but that didn’t mean that this past year hasn’t been hard on them.  While they do love each other, they need that missing element that is Natalie to complete their love.  Now that Natalie is back, they are trying not to crowd and overwhelm her before they know just what her intentions are this time.  Is she home to stay and be their forever lover or is this just a brief appearance and when it’s over Natalie will be gone again?

Natalie knew that things probably were not perfect between Zach and Logan when she left but she hopes to make up for that now.  It’s only days away from Halloween and Natalie knows that is her deadline to stop whatever it is she is seeking.  Natalie is honest with Zach and Logan that she can’t concentrate on their relationship until after she stops whatever it is she is seeking, but she also shares some very intense and erotic loving with her men.  With the help of Zach, Logan and her coven can Natalie discover just what the danger is in time to stop it and can she also put Zach and Logan’s questions to rest and show them that their love is the type that lasts forever?

One sexy witch and her two lovers come together to defeat a danger that has appeared in their small town and to resume their loving relationship.  Natalie, Zach and Logan all know what they hope their future is and fight for it and to keep their town safe in Coven, Sweet Coven.  The plot had me interested from the beginning because I have enjoyed many of Ms. Dragon’s books.  I was intrigued about how a menage relationship would be handled in a small town and also about the magic that would be ribboned through the book.  While I did enjoy the suspense and erotic elements of the book and the outcome, I had a problem relating to the main characters Natalie, Zach and Logan the way I needed to in order to drop totally into their story.  That isn’t to say that I didn’t connect with them in many parts of the book, just that it wasn’t a full 3-d character immersion in them as leading characters.  Coven, Sweet Coven is full of suspense, magic and passion that surrounds the danger leading to a Halloween showdown.

LEAVING DREAMLAND by Cheryl DragonLeaving Dreamland by Cheryl Dragon

Shannon Madison has always loved the stars and now has a career in which she can explore them. She is taken in to “protective” custody by the military and taken to Dreamland.  Shannon has been here for several weeks now and still doesn’t know why she was brought here or why.  The one thing she does know is that she has some of the sexiest guards ever.  Shannon dreams of getting up close and personal, but she is unable to pick just one and they are such good friends; Shannon refuses to be the person to divide them up.

Curtis MacDonald, Milton Hener, Ross Gronbuck and Gavin Parchner have been a unit since they were young boys.  They know all about why Shannon was brought to Dreamland and why they are assigned to protect her while on the base.  They are actually aliens and others from their home world have targeted Earth and have been taking people and returning them for some reason.  Curtis, Milton, Ross and Gavin are a true unit, which is normal in their world, and they have been searching for the woman who will complete their lives and they know without a doubt that Shannon is that woman.

Shannon is getting a bit fed up with not getting any answers from anyone and finally forces her guards’ hands.  However, the answers she gets send her into an erotic relationship with not just one but all four of her men and they prove to her just how much they want her.  Shannon also begins to learn exactly what Dreamland is and also about her men and others on the base and the shocking truth about herself.  The passion that arises between Shannon and her men case some issues in one way, but each believes that it is worth it.  The base, humans and aliens alike, are about ready to make a strike at the mother ship that is hovering just out in space. This strike will either wipeout the threat to Earth or it might just end up causing a battle that will end life on Earth.  Everyone on Dreamland knows they will only get one chance to strike with their new weapon and everything must be perfect.  It’s time to act. Will the weapon created by the humans and aliens at Dreamland destroy the ship and its inhabitants or have they just started a war that no one on Earth can hope to win?  With so many hopes, dreams and love on the line, Dreamland takes a breath as the first planes take off.

One woman and four men discover the passion of their lives just in time for a battle that might end all chance they have for a loving future.  Leaving Dreamland finally culminates in the lead up for a final strike at the aliens that have targeted Earth and its inhabitants.  Shannon, Curtis, Milton, Ross and Gavin finally have their chance to discover the passion that has been simmering ever since Shannon arrived at Dreamland.  I loved how the men all were so determined to protect Shannon, but still showed her that she was the perfect woman to complete their unit.  Watching as Shannon and her men handle the obstacles in their way, the truth about her and them, along with what is really going on with all the alien sightings, and still see that their passion grew with each day, had me hoping that they would have the chance to live their lives outside of the protective area of Dreamland.  I enjoyed seeing all the couples I had come to know join up and fight this final battle that would give them the freedom to leave Dreamland in peace.  I really loved seeing just what type of future everyone would have during the last chapter – talk about the best type of happy ending.  Leaving Dreamland is full of erotic passion, suspense and, of course, a deep love on top of giving the ultimate happy ever after to not only Shannon and her men but also all of the Dreamland mates.
