When I first received Take Me Home Tonight for review I wasn’t so sure if I was going to end up reading it or not. In the end I am so glad I did read this fabulously written treat that has me wanting to start from the very beginning of the Rock Star Romance series. Once I started I couldn’t put it down and ended up finishing it in just one sitting.

The story starts off with Mimi Romano who wants to work for her father’s company but in order to do that she needs more experience and to earn her own way. Mimi decides to try out for a TV cooking competition to help her get to the next level. She has enjoyed working for the band Blue Fire but it’s time to get her goals in motion all while making delicious treats and secretly crushing on the temporary keyboardist, Calix Bourbon.

The band wants Calix to stop being temporary and sign on with them but with trouble at home he just has too much on his plate at this time. In order to help Mimi make it on the cooking show he brings her back to his family’s home in the hopes of helping his mother get out of her funk and help Mimi progress as a chef.  The more time Mimi spends with them all the more life is being slowly brought back into his family.

Take Me Home Tonight is my first book by Erika Kelly and the first thing that I noticed was her voice. The writing and dialogue came naturally and that just made me want to continue reading. Rock star books tend to all be the same or go on the same path but Ms. Kelly breathed new life into the world of musicians. Since I didn’t read the previous books in the series I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I didn’t feel lost at all. While Ms. Kelly doesn’t exactly go into what happened in the previous book I got a glimpse of what the characters went through. I also really liked how close they were and couldn’t understand why Calix wanted to distance himself, but with the more his past came to light the more I understood his holding back. After all family should come first even if he would be missing out on his dream.

I really did love all the characters especially Calix and I really loved his name. He was a good guy in wanting to keep his family together after the loss of his brother three years ago. It wasn’t just his mom that was stuck, it was all of them and with him bringing Mimi home she helped them in a way he wasn’t expecting. While Calix doesn’t date much there is something about Mimi that has him wanting to give them an honest chance. Mimi was smart, open and funny, all while trying to get her workaholic father to notice her and give her a chance. I felt like I understood why she wanted to enter this TV competition and that it was also a way of trying to get closer to her father.

The relationship between Calix and Mimi didn’t start off strong, but as the story started to unfold and they began to grow closer I could start to see them as a real couple. Ms. Kelly didn’t write just sex scenes, she wrote emotional love scenes that showed how they were connecting. These two really had it bad for one another and I couldn’t get enough of them.

While this is a story about rock stars I missed the fact that that subject wasn’t really center stage in the story. It took to the background and the cooking competition took the lead. In the end I was left completely satisfied on how it turned out and Ms. Kelly has definitely got a new fan. I am really looking forward to reading more of her work and hoping this isn’t the end of the Rock Stars Romance series which is why I am recommending Take Me Home Tonight to everyone.

Violet Davis is exceptional at her job. She has a knack for turning disgraceful popular and wealthy men and women into exceptional citizens.  After her recent successful corporate assignment all she wants to do is take a little time to relax at her wildflower farm.  However, a deal she cannot resist has her doing something she vowed never to do again…working with musicians.

Derek Valencia and his band Blue Fire are finally hitting the big time touring with the likes of U2 and Kings of Leon. Unfortunately, the fame is getting to some of the band causing outrageous behavior.  This behavior is concerning to his record label which leads to a professional babysitter being brought in.  While Derek is opposed to having a minder he does realize that his friends need help.  It doesn’t hurt that their minder is a beautiful woman.

Will Violet be able to help Derek save Blue Fire’s career and more importantly save the lives of his friends before they do irrevocable damage?

There are so many things I LOVE about Author Erika Kelly’s I Want You To Want Me that I have trouble knowing where to begin!  This is my first Erika Kelly book and now I am dying to read more! I must go back and read book one in the Rock Star Romances series because I fell in love with Emmie and Slater while reading this book.  The stars are most definitely Violet and Derek. I instantly liked Violet because it was obvious she was a smart, strong-willed capable woman and most importantly she knows what she wants.  I like the fact that she takes such pride in the work she does. I know how empowering that can be.  I also felt for her vulnerable side.  Violet and Derek are much the same in this respect.  He is also driven to accomplish his goals and feels deeply about what he does.  And like Violet is vulnerable.  It’s completely obvious to the reader that these two are simply perfect for each other but it’s going to take some convincing for them.

I Want You To Want Me takes the reader into the seductive world of the Rock Star.  It’s easy to see how things can get carried away very fast.  For instance, the insane chemistry between Derek and Violet is impossible to ignore.  They are sexy hot and their flirting is blush inducing.  I could read about these two all day long.  As a matter of fact I read about them all night long because once I began the book I could not stop reading until I finished! Ms. Kelly definitely knows her romance and she packs I Want You To Want Me with tons of it! I want more and I want it now! I’m afraid that the Letters to Cleo song “I Want You To Want Me” will be in my head until the next book lands at my doorstep!

I Want You To Want Me is a romance that has it all! It’s a MUST Read and a Joyfullly Recommended Read!
