When I first started the Play by Play series by Jaci Burton I never dreamed she would supply book after book of multiple sports heroes, but I have enjoyed each and every one in their own way. Whether it was hockey, baseball or football, one thing that is always consistent is the love of the sport that Ms. Burton brings to each story. Rules of Contact is the twelfth book in the Play by Play series and I liked the change of pace and the focus on food Ms. Burton added in. I swear every time the food was mentioned all I could think of was “damn that sounds good”, so you have been warned not only is Rules of Contact hot but it will definitely make you hungry in more ways than one.

Flynn Cassidy loves football but he also loves food. He does more than okay in the kitchen so when he decides to finally open his own restaurant he is looking for the right team to run it while he is on the field. In the previous book, Unexpected Rush, he meets his new chef Amelia Lawrence and knows she will be the perfect fit for his place.

Rules of Contact picks up just before his restaurant opens and Flynn is having bad luck in the dating pool as all the women end up wanting exposure of some kind but not his head chef Amelia. From the moment he met her he could feel the attraction but mixing business with pleasure is not a good idea. Flynn does his best to keep everything on a professional level but the closer they work together the lines start to blur and now he wants to try and date her, the only problem is that he has to convince her to give him an honest to god shot.

Amelia Lawrence is starting over in a new city after her divorce and so far things are going great. She loves the new people she has met and loves her new job as head chef at Ninety-Two, her boss is a great guy and nothing what she originally expected from him but there is one problem, with each day that passes her attraction to Flynn is growing. She hasn’t dated much since her divorce but she is open to a little fun as long as it doesn’t get in the way of work. Once they embark on a relationship keeping it casual becomes difficult and she is quickly learning that there is nothing light and easy about the two of them together.

From the moment Flynn was introduced I couldn’t wait to learn more about him and I was shocked that he was looking for someone special and not the player type, he was open to love. When a relationship wasn’t working out he was honest and cut ties and tried again. At times I felt for him because none of the women he dated wanted to get to know the real him but were just caught up in his fame. Amelia was easy to like and I loved that she was a chef and not some football groupie. She was a little on the unsure side of dating but once her and Flynn’s relationship really started to take off I started to see them as a long term couple. They have a mutual respect and genuinely like one another.

Rules of Contact started out a little on the slow side but once it got going I didn’t want to put it down. Of course since Rules of Contact is a sports romance I was looking forward to football time during the story and while there are a few scattered scenes of Flynn playing I felt the whole restaurant theme took away from it. I loved that there was no overload on drama and I was glad I could see the growth of their relationship building chapter by chapter.

We also see Flynn’s sister Mia a few times during this story and I have to say I really do hope she gets her own book. Will Mia end up with a baseball, hockey or football player? I guess I will have to wait and see and I can’t wait! If you love sports romance as much as I do you won’t want to miss Rules of Contact.

When it comes to love, they already know the rules...by heart. Thirty-two and finally setting up her veterinary practice in the town she once called home, Emma Burnett is on her own and loving it. Independent and driven, she’s not letting any man get in the way of her dreams. Not again. That’s fine with Luke McCormack. Divorced and hardly lacking in female company when he needs it, he’s devoted to the only faithful companion in his life—his police dog. Still, there’s something about Emma he can’t shake. When a series of local break-ins leaves Emma vulnerable, she seeks help from the first man to spark her desire in years. And now they’re giving each other something they thought they’d lost forever...hope. FIRST IN A NEW SERIES!

Dr. Emma Burnett is finally living her dream.  After a failed relationship and interruptions to her education, Emma is opening her own veterinary clinic in her hometown of Hope.  While she may be deep in debt she is happier than ever as her clinic opens its doors.  As if her first day couldn’t get any better, a smoking hot cop brings in his K-9 for treatment.

Officer Luke McCormack’s K-9 partner is hurt in the line of duty.  It’s lucky for him that a new vet has opened in town.  It is one surprise after another as Luke is not able to deny the sparks he shares with Emma.  Luke is famous for his one-night stands but one night with Emma is simply not enough.

Emma lands in unexpected danger.  Will Luke be able to rescue her or will he be the one breaking her heart?

The first book in Jaci Burton’s Hope series is smart, sexy and very romantic.  There is even a bit of suspense thrown in for good measure.  Hope Flames is rife with cuddly canines and sweet small town antics.  I fell in love with Emma and Luke and their pets!  I could not get enough of Daisy, Boomer & Annie. Emma is a strong character.  I loved that she worked so hard to get to this point in her life and career. You can really feel her excitement regarding her clinic and her relationship with Luke.  Emma turns Luke’s life upside down. She makes him feel things that have been foreign to him for a long time. The secondary characters are great as well. I can’t wait to see the rest of the characters find love.

Hope Flames is a contemporary romance success.

First there was Nauti and Wild. Now, New York Times bestselling authors Lora Leigh and Jaci Burton go one step further. Can you take it? #1 New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh returns to the relentlessly scorching backdrop of her Nauti Boys series with an all-new novella of a man—bad to the bone—and the one woman who knew he was trouble. That’s why she couldn’t let him go. New York Times bestselling author Jaci Burton once again blisters the asphalt with an all-new novella in her Wild Riders series. A hot biker craves a life of passion and danger—and finds it with the woman he’s sworn to protect.

“Nauti Siren” by Lora Leigh

Piper McKay is excited about a new opportunity.  In order for her to pursue it she must go to New York City. Piper knows that her brother Dawg McKay will not let her out of his sight.  With all of the danger in Dawg’s past and present he is reluctant to let the people he loves go without his protection.

Jedediah Booker is undercover and practically in love with Piper.  When she sneaks off and finds trouble its Jed to the rescue.  He rescues her and then lays claim to her, but will he be able to protect her from the danger headed her way? More importantly, can he seduce her?

“Nauti Siren” is a hot fast-paced romance with plenty of sex and action.  Piper and Jedediah steam up the pages with their intense chemistry.  I actually enjoyed “Nauti Siren” more than the first Nauti Girls novel.  The drama in “Nauti Siren” is thrilling and the story moves so quickly it keeps the reader engaged.

“Riding to Sunset” by Jaci Burton

Jed Templeton is the newest Wild Rider.  He is assigned possibly the most important assignment ever.  General Lee’s sister is missing and he needs Jed to protect his niece.  Only Jed never counted on falling for the beautiful Elena.

Elena Madison loves her art gallery.  It’s her passion; so, when it’s vandalized her heart is broken.  Thankfully a handsome stranger comes to her rescue but it doesn’t take her long to discover that there is more to Jed than meets the eye.  Will Elena and Jed find love or will danger find them first?

“Riding to Sunset” is a fantastic romance from author Jaci Burton.  Jed and Elena are positively riveting.  I could not get enough of this couple. I just love them.  I was really pleased with the action in “Riding to Sunset” as well.  Burton keeps her Wild Riders fresh and ravishing.

Nautier and Wilder is an excellent romance.  Fans of Leigh and Burton will not be disappointed by this anthology.  The sex is sizzling and the storytelling is superb.  Nautier and Wilder is the perfect summer read!
