Violet Castanega knows that something strange is going on with all the deaths happening to the Dragon clans in the Fringe.  When her brother is killed, Violet knows it’s only a matter of time before the clans go after each other with no holds barred.  Violet bargains for a cooling off time during which she will investigate to see just what clues she can find.  After Violet learns that even more deaths have occurred than even she knew and that clan violence is just simmering below the surface, Violet makes a decision that could make all of the clans never forgive her – going to the Guard for help.

Kade Kavanaugh is a powerful Vega with the Guard and he knows all about how wild the Castanega clan can be – especially Violet.  Yet when she shows up at the Guard headquarters asking for help to solve her brother’s and other clan killings, everyone from his boss down just pass her concerns off.  Kade knows the Fringe history and yet how Violet acts during her visit shows that she can be more than the wild teenager he met years ago.  When Kade is given a new assignment by his boss, he is shocked and then concerned – the assignment is to assassinate Violet and let the resulting clan wars just go.  Something that doesn’t sit will with what the Guard means to Kade.

Violet is wary when Kade shows up at her home saying he is there to help her, but since time isn’t on her side Violet agrees to work with him.  As the hours go on, Kade knows that Violet is nothing like he has been told and his gut tells him that killing her would be wrong and that something else is going on in the Fringe.  Kade is walking down a very narrow line while trying to keep Violet safe and figure out why he was assigned to kill her.  Things get out of hand when passion explodes between Violet and Kade.  Violet is trying to keep Kade safe, the Guard is not well thought of by the Fringe clans, while working with him to keep the clans safe from further killings.  Before the final answers become clear, betrayal, misunderstandings and love will all force Kade and Violet to the limits.  When all is revealed and everyone is safe, will there now be time for Kade and Violet to explore their new found love or has too much gone down to allow for the trust that all love must be bound with?

A jewelry designer with a wild past and a Guard member who follows his gut come together in the most unusual circumstances in Magic Possessed.  Violet and Kade are certainly an odd couple until you look below the surface and see the love that was just waiting for them.  I have to hand it to Violet that I was surprised that she risked everything to go to the Guard with her and her families past.  I was even further shocked when Kade decided to go with his gut feeling instead of his order after all he had to overcome to get his Vega position.  I loved watching as Kade and Violet worked together and put all the clues together to discover the betrayal and past events that all combined together in what was happening to the clans in the Fringe.  The passion that grew between Kade and Violet proved that no matter what their individual pasts were, their future would only be together.  Magic Possessed takes suspense, passion and danger to the ultimate limits while allowing enough breathing space to keep the reader gripped from the first page until the last.

They are the Hidden. Not quite human. Far from normal. And never, ever safe . . . PLAYING WITH FIRERuby Salazaar wants answers . . . and revenge. Her uncle has just been murdered before her eyes and the name he utters with his final breath - Cyntag - leads Ruby into a world beyond her wildest imaginings. She soon learns that the dark, sexy Cyntag Valeron knows more about her than she does herself. BURNED BY LOVERuby changed Cyn's life before she even knew who he was. Now she charges into his life, a beautiful woman full of fire and questions. Cyn knew this day would come, yet he couldn't foresee the danger - and desires - Ruby would bring with her. He can teach her how to harness her newly awakened powers. But there is one force neither of them can control . . .

Ruby Salazaar was raised by her uncle Moncrief, when her parents died. Moncrief filled Ruby’s world with tales of dragons, magic and other creatures known as the Hidden.  When Ruby receives an urgent call from Moncrief, she rushes to his side only to find him killed by some type of odd glowing orb.  His last breath is a name – a name that Ruby knows from her uncle.  Now she is off to find and kill the man who killed her beloved uncle.

Cyntag Valeron is beyond surprised with Ruby shows up at his gym and then threatens him with a gun.  Even more surprising is learning why, that Moncrief is dead and how it happened.  As an over 200 year old dragon, Cyntag knows many things about Ruby that she doesn’t and now it appears it’s all on his shoulders to teach Ruby the truth about her heritage and to help her find out who killed her uncle and why.

Ruby can’t believe what Cyntag is telling her – that is until she releases her inner dragon and powers.  Ruby is a child in learning her dragon’s powers and strengths and unfortunately she really doesn’t have the time to learn them along the way.  Cyntag and Ruby split their time between training Ruby and hunting down the answers to just what happened to her uncle.  As the clues come together, it appears that the reason why goes back to when her parents died – now she knows that they were killed.  Along the way, Cyntag and Ruby also discover a passionate love that isn’t going to take ‘no’ for an answer.  All the answers are coming together and the danger is ramping up when Cyntag and Ruby finally know who was behind the glowing orbs, the death of her parents and uncle and the reason really behind it all.  The final battle is going to be a winner take all – the only question is will the team of Cyntag and Ruby have what it takes to win the day and put the magic world back on it’s correct path.

Take two feisty dragon shifters and toss in danger, suspense and a deep passion filled with love and you have just the beginning of Cyntag and Ruby’s story in Dragon Awakened.  I was amazed at how much Cyntag tried to control his need of Ruby while trying to show her just what her true being really was and trying to help her solve the mysterious deaths of her parents and uncle.  I really loved how Ruby continued to roll with the punches as each hit came – some worse than others.  When Cyntag and Ruby finally overcame the worse hurtle that should have torn them apart, I knew that nothing would be able to drive them apart except death.  Cyntag and Ruby’s journey to right the wrongs that were done by a totally unexpected source and to fulfill the love that blossomed between them is a fantastic start to a new and exciting series.  I really can’t wait to open up the second book in Ms. Rush’s engaging world.  Dragon Awakened is a rough and tumble story filled with passion, humor, and suspense that makes it a page-turner from start to finish.  I have a feeling that this is going to be a keeper series for sure.

They live ordinary lives, but they are extraordinary. They are the Offspring, children of a mysterious experiment gone awry—and they are in terrible danger. Cheveyo: a name that stirs Petra like no other, reviving deep feelings of pleasure . . . and pain. Despite her rare psychic gifts, the beautiful half-human Offspring doesn’t know why the magnificent shapeshifter walked out of her life when the bond they shared was powerful . . . and intensely passionate. But Cheveyo is not gone. From the shadows, he watches over his beloved, determined that the malevolent enemies he hunts with fang and claw will not invade her world. But now, suddenly, the stakes are getting higher—as an insidious evil plots the destruction of Petra’s race. Cheveyo can remain hidden no longer from the lover who completes him but could destroy him . . . if his own inner darkness doesn’t destroy her first.

Petra Aruda is feeling rather lonely lately. Everything should be peachy considering it appears her and her family of Offspring are finally safe from the evil that has been stalking them. When Petra looks around she sees her friends and family paired off; each couple more romantic and happy than the rest. They all have what Petra wants love and a family of her own. There is only one person that Petra has ever had those feelings for and he disappeared from her life after saving it.

Cheveyo follows Petra from afar. He’s been a part of her forever but knows that his life is too dangerous for her. Cheveyo is a hunter. He has trained his whole life to hunt down the bad things that skulk around in the dark harming humans. It is what he was born to do just like his father before him. The last thing he needs is to put a target on the back of the woman he loves. It takes every disciplined cell in his body to stay away from Petra and she doesn’t make it easy.

Pope has helped the Offspring in the past, but now that he has landed in trouble himself he comes to Petra for help. Well, he needs protection and the only one that can give him that is Cheveyo. Petra gets Pope and Cheveyo together but unfortunately doesn’t get out of this without putting that target Cheveyo’s feared on her back. With Pope and Petra in need of his protection there is only one thing Cheveyo can do; take out the enemy before it gets anywhere near Petra. Can Cheveyo get them all out of this unscathed? More importantly can he get through this and keep his hands off Petra?

Every series has that one couple that you absolutely cannot wait to read about and in this series, for me that couple is Petra and Cheveyo. Beyond the Darkness is a pulse-pounding, heart wrenching, jump out of your seat novel. I’m an Offspring fan but this is my favorite so far. Jaime Rush kicks ass with Beyond the Darkness!! The action is top-notch! I felt as though I’d been running on a treadmill the way my heart was racing while reading. The action is not the only thing that got my heart going. The amount of emotion that lies between Petra and Cheveyo is massive. For a couple destined to be together they have such a hard time getting there. I really felt Petra’s loneliness at the beginning while seeing all her friends and family so happy in coupledom. She knows that her perfect person is out there but she can’t be with him. It’s torturous for both of them. Beyond the Darkness is a killer journey that pairs one scorching couple with dastardly danger. Petra and Cheveyo sizzle, Beyond the Darkness should not be missed!!

They are the Hidden. Not quite human. Far from normal. And never, ever safe . . . After her father falls victim to a serial kidnapper, cunning Dragon shifter Lyra Slade is determined to rescue him. When she discovers a clue to his disappearance that leads her to a sexy but aloof stranger, she knows she shouldn't trust him to help her, but she's run out of options. Archer Grant, a descendant of fallen angels, is reluctant to aid the beautiful dragon because her evidence implicates his own brother . . . But when his brother also goes missing, Archer must work with Lyra to uncover the truth. But even as a supernatural desire grows between angel and dragon, they are hunted by an evil force. Faced with the deadliest of dark magick, can even love save them?(25,000 words)

Lyra Slade is a dragon shifter who is desperate to figure out what has happened to her father.  He just disappeared and all appearances look as if he was mixed up with a married dragon shifter who has also disappeared.  To top it off, Lyra destroyed what might have been a clue because she was afraid of what it might have said and it ended up breaking up her brother and his girlfriend.  Now Lyra has to find out the truth and what really happened when her father disappeared – even if it’s something she doesn’t want to learn.

Archer Grant is amazed when Lyra shows up and asks for his help.  As the son of a fallen angel, Archer knows that getting involved with Lyra could cause him more pain than not.  But when Archer finds out that this same mystery also involves his brother who is also missing, he agrees to help Lyra, even knowing that the price might be more than he wants to pay.

As Lyra and Archer trace back both her father’s and his brother’s last known steps, it is looking like both disappearances are joined in a bizarre set of facts.  As Lyra and Archer get closer to finding out who is behind these mysteries, they are also getting closer and passion is just lurking waiting for a chance to burst out.  The problem with that is that angels are not allowed to feel anything and the pain when they do is a killing one.  A few stolen moments prove that Lyra and Archer have something between them that could be true love, but neither can figure out a way that they can be together without hurting Archer.  However, during their search to find their loved ones they also discover that the very thing they are hunting for might have a solution for them also – if they can dare to try it.

An angel not allowed to feel is teaming up with a dragon shifter whose feelings are deep and fierce – especially when she loves.  Archer and Lyra find the answer to allow their love in Dragon Rising.  I could tell that Lyra was worried about what she might discover about her father and what he was doing when he disappeared and yet I loved that she went forward to discover the truth anyway.  Archer had my backing because even though he wasn’t supposed to feel, it was his feelings for his brother that allowed him to team up with Lyra.  I really enjoyed watching as Lyra and Archer proved just how good a team they were in finding the clues and the answers that lead to what really happened.  Watching as they fell in love and then separated thinking there was no hope.  I truly loved Archer when he risked everything to grab his only chance at having Lyra forever.  Dragon Rising is full of suspense and passion with slivers of humor which had me rooting for Archer and Lyra beating the odds – and did they ever.  I can’t wait to read the first full book in this series next.

Erica Evard has always been different but now she knows what she is supposed to do.  She plans to hunt down every evil person and make them pay.  She feels the evil growing and understands that her lifespan might be cut short by her need to seek justice. When she meets Magnus McLeod, she can feel the darkness within him but there is also something about him that draws her near.

Magnus has run from his family out of fear. The darkness hiding inside him could come out and hurt those he loves.  When he meets Erica he is drawn to her immediately.  He wants her passionately and is determined to get her then protect her, but she doesn’t need him as much as he thinks.  As the danger starts hunting them they must rely on each to survive the darkness.

The End of Darkness is an exciting end to a wonderful series. I love Jaime Rush’s Offspring series it’s full of great characters, sexual chemistry and intense suspense.  Erica and Magnus both have dark issues they are dealing with so it is only fitting that these two bring down a big baddie.  I love Magnus, always have, and Erica is the perfect woman for him. She is tough and sensitive. Erica can stand with her man and up to him as well.  It was also great to watch Copeland find love too. His character has always been interesting and I wanted him to find some loving as well.  The interaction between him and Lanna is lustful and funny. They share some really great scenes.  I hope to see all of these characters resurface someday.  The End of Darkness is fast-paced, emotional and hot!
