From the author of Lone Wolf comes a paranormal romance about two lovers torn between ecstasy and savagery... Jace Warden is sent to the Shiftertown in Austin to find a way to free all Shifters from their Collars. But pulling off the Collars can cause Shifters to go mad or kill them outright. In Austin, Jace meets Deni Rowe, a wolf Shifter with troubles of her own—she was deliberately run down in the road, and while her body has healed, she still has episodes of total memory loss during which she retreats into her pure animal self. Jace has never met anyone like Deni. Courageous and beautiful, she volunteers to help him test the Collar removal. And as Deni and Jace work together, they feel the mate bond begin. But can Jace help Deni believe she can heal enough to be anyone’s true mate? This sixteen chapter novella includes a preview of the upcoming Shifters Unbound novel Wild Wolf.

Jace Warden has come to the Austin Shiftertown in secret to be the guinea pig for the work being done to get the collars off of the shifters.  It has become evident that the shifters must get them off as soon as possible and just wear decoys.  Jace has barely gotten off his bike when he is attacked by a wolf.  What surprises him is that right after that a female wolf attacks his attacker.  Jace isn’t sure what is going on, but he immediately goes to the aid of the female wolf.

Deni Rowe might not have been happy at having to take a collar and move into the Shiftertown but because she had cubs, she was willing to do so.  However after an accident that gave her a concussion among other things, Deni has been unable to control her fight or flight impulses and it takes nothing for her to go into battle these days.  When Deni sees a stranger being attacked by a loser she knows, she immediately goes after the attacker and gets her bell clocked again.  But this time, Jace helps her get control and get out of the situation.

Jace instantly felt attraction to Deni but he isn’t ready to have more than a fling right now.  Deni also isn’t quite ready to look too deep into the sparks she feels when she is with Jace, but she is instantly protective of him and is willing to go on the outs even with her family to keep him safe.  No one is going to mess with either Jace or Deni with the other one around.  Attraction becomes flames and then passion, followed quickly by love.  The odds are against them from the start because they are part of different shiftertowns and getting permission to move is very difficult.  Both Jace and Deni are willing to separate and follow the rules for now, but when danger follows Jace, only Deni can help save him if she can get her emotions and instincts to work correctly fast enough.  Can Deni and Jace beat the odds and find the answer to getting the collars off once and for all before they lose everything?

A love that should never have been found blossoms and flares to life while shifters look for the answer to save themselves from Fae technology that could end them once and for all.  Deni and Jace find more than one answer they were looking for in Feral Heat.  The struggle that both Jace and Deni have gone through separately told me right off that they would be a power couple if given the chance.  I loved how both were instantly protective of the other from the minute they laid eyes on each other, even before the passion came to call.  With the highly explosive background of secretly getting rid of the collars and keeping the work secret, I enjoyed seeing how Deni and Jace worked in tandem to achieve their goals and to also find a way to grab the gold ring in the end and have the best of everything.  Feral Heat has suspense, passion and humor that make it a wonderful way to spend a few hours escaping into the shifter world once again.

A renowned rake, Cameron Mackenzie doesn't care if Ainsley Douglas has a virtuous excuse for sneaking around his bedchamber. He only cares that she's at his mercy. One kiss at a time, he plans to seduce her. But what starts out as a lusty diversion may break Cam's own rules.

Six years ago, Cameron Mackenzie discovered Ainsley Douglas searching his room.  Back then, she claimed to be looking for a liaison with Cameron, but she had an attack of conscience and returned to her husband instead.

Now Ainsley is a widow and her path has crossed Cameron’s once more, and like the last time, she’s in his rooms.  This time, Ainsley’s on a mission to recover letters that could be used to blackmail the queen.  Only Cameron isn’t about to let Ainsley get away as easily as she did before.  Six years haven’t dimmed his desire for her, nor hers for him.  As they search for the queen’s stolen letters, Cameron tempts Ainsley with promises of passion.  But Cameron never expects his lust for Ainsley to turn into something more; something that could reopen the wounds of his past and threaten the promise of a future for himself and Ainsley.

If you’re looking for a likeable heroine, a tortured hero, sensual romance, memorable secondary characters, and a dash of royal intrigue – and let’s face it, who isn’t? – then The Many Sins of Lord Cameron is for you.  Jennifer Ashley delivers an engaging story in this fast-paced third installment to her wildly addictive Highland Pleasures series.

Cameron is considered to be the black sheep of his family, and in the Mackenzie family, that’s saying something.  But Cameron’s dangerous façade masks a tortured past.  To say that he lived through hell when he was married to his now-deceased wife would be putting it mildly.  His first wife was insane, conniving, and abusive, and Cameron lived through her torture in order to protect his son.  My heart broke both for Cameron and his son, Daniel, who is a bright young man that runs a bit wild but is definitely loved by the entire Mackenzie clan.  Cameron deserves happiness and Ainsley is just the woman to give it to him.  Her past isn’t without heartache and her present is marked by her duty to Queen Victoria .  At the beginning of The Many Sins of Lord Cameron, Ainsley is a shadow of herself in many ways, and it was a joy to watch her become a vibrant heroine.  She and Cameron were a fantastic match and together they brought The Many Sins of Lord Cameron to vivid life.

While The Many Sins of Lord Cameron is the third Highland Pleasures book, it can be read as a standalone.  However, I defy readers who haven’t read the first two books – The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage – to read The Many Sins of Lord Cameron and not want to rush back and read Ian and Mac Mackenzie’s books.  The entire Mackenzie family wrapped itself around my heart in The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and they have yet to let go.  As a fan of the series, it was a joy to see how the first two couples have progressed over the years.  What’s more, with the groundwork she lays in The Many Sins of Lord Cameron, Ms. Ashley has me on the edge of my seat to see what happens to the eldest Mackenzie brother, Hart.  Even Daniel, who is only sixteen, is already developing into hero material.

The Many Sins of Lord Cameron is an excellent book that I read in one sitting.  The only problem I had was that I finished it and wanted to dive right into the next Highland Pleasures book, which sadly won’t be out until 2012.  I look forward to revisiting Cameron and Ainsley’s romance many times over as I wait for Hart Mackenzie’s book, The Duke’s Perfect Wife.

He was once a captive, but his urges were never caged. Now he’ll release them on a beautiful stranger whose own secret desires are longing to be sated... He doesn’t have a name. He doesn’t have a clan. The humans who held him prisoner for forty years have taken them away. He knew nothing but captivity until nearly a year ago, when he was released into the light. Now Tiger lives in the Austin Shiftertown, where he struggles to belong and searches for an identity. Carly Randal thinks her fabulous life is complete—until her car breaks down on the side of the road, and a wild-looking Shifter is the only one to help her. Tiger takes one look at Carly and knows instantly—she will be his mate. As Carly is drawn into his Shifter world, she risks everything she has for that forbidden something she still wants: passionate love.

Tiger resides in the Austin Shiftertown now but his entire background is a blank.  All he remembers is that he once had a mate and a cub that died and that he was found in a lab.  Tiger goes about his daily life trying to fit in to the shifter town and follow its rules, the entire time knowing he is different from the other shifters.  One afternoon while on a run, he comes across a damsel in distress – literally.

Carly thought her fiancé was helping her out by lending her one of his cars to get to the gallery where she worked for an artist showing that was soon to begin  But that goes sideways when the car stops in the middle of nowhere and Carly is stuck.  Luck might be with her when a very sexy man shows up and, even better, he knows what’s wrong with the car and can do an emergency fix.  But that is the end of Carly’s luck that day because her biggest surprise comes when she arrives back at her fiancé’s house.

Tiger knows immediately that Carly is his mate and he also knows that he needs to go slowly so that he doesn’t scare her away.  When Tiger is hurt while protecting Carly, the only one who can calm him down is Carly.  If that isn’t enough to keep the Austin Shiftertown jumping, someone is after Tiger and the other shiftertown leaders are wondering if it’s wise to keep Tiger around in any of the shiftertowns.  Carly and Tiger are experiencing the passion that surrounds them the entire time that suspense is bearing down on them.  Determined to keep Carly safe and also everyone in the Austin shiftertown, Tiger sets out to discover just what in his background has people trying to capture him again.  Tiger might have found his answers and saved everyone but now it’s up to Carly to save Tiger if they are ever going to have the future that seems to be just at their fingertips.

A shifter with no history meets his mate only to have danger threaten their future in Tiger Magic.  Tiger is one of the strongest and most protective shifters I have met so far and I understood why the more I discovered about his history.  I enjoyed watching as Carly discovered the passion that she would have with Tiger and proved that shifters are people too, just with extra gifts.  I was hardly surprised to see who was behind the danger that seemed focused on Tiger and Carly. But I loved seeing how that was taken care of and that now maybe all of the shifters would be better off.  I really loved the romance that sprang up between Tiger and Carly and how they followed it to find the love that would lead them into their future.  Tiger Magic twists passion and suspense together with ribbons of humor and friendship leading to a story just brimming with love by the time the last page is turned.  With each book, I am loving Ms. Ashley’s shifters and the women and men who love them.
