From the moment I picked up my first Jill Shalvis book I knew I would always read anything she wrote. Now it looks like Ms. Shalvis is dipping her toes into woman’s fiction with the first book in the Wildstone series with Lost and Found Sisters. I admit I don’t read a lot of woman’s fiction and prefer romance but Ms. Shalvis brought this story to life and made it special.

Quinn Weller is a successful Chef but two years after her sister Beth’s death she still feels empty. She has had a good life but getting through the days is her top priority until the world she thought she knew is turned upside down while waiting to get coffee. A lawyer approaches her and with staggering news that has her not only questioning the life she is used to and comfortable in, but what will be in store for her future. After packing a bag she is headed to Wildstone, CA to finally get some answers about the questions she has after meeting with the lawyer.

Mick Hennessey is back in Wildstone to help his mother after his father’s passing to do repairs on her house, but he can’t wait to get back to the life he has made for himself in San Francisco. Until he meets a woman having a panic attack on the beach. The more time he spends with this incredible woman the more he thinks that just maybe coming home isn’t so bad after all.

As Quinn settles in this new town she is finding out she has more ties to Wildstone that she originally thought and the people there are growing on her. In fact she is healing and feeling more alive than she has in two years which has her questioning if this is where she truly belongs.

At first I wasn’t sure if I was really going to enjoy the Lost and Found Sisters but as I started reading I was not only impressed with the plot but also that it included some challenges for both characters. While there was a romance blooming the main focus of the Lost and Found Sisters was Quinn and Mick working through their past and looking forward to what the future has in store for them, whether it be separately or together.

I truly fell in love with these new characters and this town that Ms. Shalvis has created. I believe the Wildstone series has a bright future and I am really looking forward to meeting the next couple and seeing how this series will develop. If you are looking for a fun, sweet and a perfect summer read, this is it.

ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE by Jill ShalvisAccidentally On Purpose by Jill Shalvis
Series: Heartbreaker Bay #3

I was excited when Jill Shalvis announced her new Heartbreaker Bay series so I was super excited that when I started reading it I was truly hooked by the new group of characters. With each book that has been released I always say that this one is my favorite but I have to admit after reading Accidentally on Purpose that this might be my favorite so far. From the beginning of the Heartbreaker Bay series Elle and Archer have had this love/hate relationship and I couldn’t wait to find out why.

Archer Hunt doesn’t regret giving up his law enforcement career the night he saved Elle many years ago. Since then he has looked out for her, making sure she was happy and safe, even though she never knew. But his attraction to her over the years hasn’t lessened one bit. Archer knows they have chemistry but since they also have a past he knows that she can do better than him, but when Elle’s past comes into the present he will do anything and everything to make sure she stays safe.

Elle Wheaten has had feelings for Archer for as long as she can remember but she also knows that with their history things might never happen between them. Now it’s time to finally get over the most stubborn man she ever met and dating other men is the answer until the hunky security expert starts to sabotage each date in some way or another. With the chemistry burning between them it’s only a matter of time before they act on it and along the way she realizes she needs Archer more then she thought especially as he has owned her heart from the beginning.

Accidentally on Purpose had the right amount of tension, chemistry and funny banter that had me loving Elle and Archer’s story. I couldn’t wait to see what the story was between them and Ms. Shalvis did a hell of a job getting me ready for them in the previous books and yet I was still impressed how everything with them came together and I wondered how they would work out.

Archer was sweeter than I thought he would be but I really did love him. Elle was a ball buster at times but the way Archer gave it right back to her had me laughing out loud. I enjoyed watching these two try to figure their way around one another even though they both want one another. They are clueless to each other’s feelings but I seriously couldn’t get enough of their bickering and banter.

Ms. Shalvis explains their past in great detail and by the end I was completely satisfied with how Accidentally on Purpose turned out. I also enjoyed the moments when their group of friends got together, they are truly a fun group. I hope Accidentally on Purpose isn’t the last book in this series because there are a few more characters I am dying to know about and we also get to see more of Archer’s security team.

Accidentally on Purpose was a great addition to this already addictive series and I am hooked. Ms. Shalvis has a special talent for bringing her characters to life and having me want to join their group. I highly recommend Accidentally on Purpose for everyone’s reading pleasure.

ONE SNOWY NIGHT by Jill Shalvis

One Snowy Night by Jill Shalvis is a sweet little Christmas novella that adds to the Heartbreaker Bay series. We met Rory and Max in the previous story but I found not knowing what their whole deal was a little on the annoying side so thankfully Ms. Shalvis decided to give us their story.

Rory had a tough childhood and left home only to end up in San Francisco, where her boss Willa finds her and gives her a chance. Over the years Rory has promised she would return home only to have her family disappointed in her but this year is different. Not only is Rory in charge of picking up her mother’s gift but she is determined to make it back home no matter what, but what she doesn’t expect is that her old crush Max would be taking her home and along for the ride is his loveable dog, Carl.

I really enjoyed getting to know more about Max and Rory. Their past of knowing one another is something I didn’t expect but the way Ms. Shalvis told it made it worth the read. These two characters both went through some life changing moments that go back to their high school days and when the subject is brought up on the drive to drop Rory off it really had me hoping these two would finally get everything out in the open and work it out.

One thing I did miss in this novella were the previous characters that have been introduced but I do have a feeling Rory and Max will be making some appearances in the next story, Accidently on Purpose which is due out early next year.

Do you have to read One Snowy Night along with the previous books in the Heartbreaker Bay series? No, but you won’t want to miss out on this novella that will have you believing in second chances and gets you in the mood for the holidays. Overall, I really enjoyed One Snowy Night and I can’t wait to read more of this series.

SECOND CHANCE SUMMER by Jill ShalvisSecond Chance Summer by Jill Shalvis

The last place Lily Danville ever wants to return to is Cedar Ridge, Colorado. This is the place where her sister died and her life was changed forever. Driven by guilt, Lily has stayed away. Aidan Kincaid fell for Lily ten years ago before she suddenly left. Now she’s back and Aiden finds that they are still drawn to each other. But before they can have a second chance together, Lily is going to have to let go of the past.

I’ve never read a Jill Shalvis book I didn’t like. With the first book of her new Cedar Ridge series I am addicted to the Kincaid brothers. I totally got why Lily was so filled with guilt from the past, while I wanted Aiden to help her heal. Aiden was the perfect hero material and with his brothers made me want to find Cedar Ridge immediately! Second Chance Summer had me smiling from start to finish.

She’s tempting his basic instincts... Sunshine, Idaho, is a quiet ranching town, a perfect place to give injured animals a refuge...or to find one yourself. Veterinarian Dell Connelly suspects there’s a reason his clinic’s uber-efficient receptionist has taken shelter here. Jade Bennett couldn’t be happier to escape the big-city jungle to work with hurt animals, and have a forlorn stray kitten make its home under her desk...or enjoy the gorgeous views of her ruggedly sexy boss. Jade is used to planning everything in her life, but Dell’s seductive, alluring ways have sparked an uncontrollable desire. And though Dell has never had time for love, Jade’s strength and sass is the kind of call no red-blooded male can resist...

Eighteen Months ago Jade Bennett ran as far away from her life as possible. She landed in Sunshine, Idaho and found a job at Belle Haven animal clinic. Jade’s expert organizational skills have helped the clinic immensely and the patients keep her busy and happy. It doesn’t hurt that the doctor is sexy as sin as well. Dr. Dell gets her blood a boiling, too bad he’s a love em’ and leave em’ type and she’s about to head back to her real life.

Dr. Dell Connelly veterinarian extraordinaire is pretty unflappable. As a matter of fact the only person that ruffles his feather is his sassy receptionist. He sure would like to get up close and personal with Jade but he’s not a relationship kind of guy and she’s on her way out the door. When Dell begins seeing shadows haunting Jade, he makes her confront her fears. It’s a bad time for Dell and Jade to be getting closer but they can’t seem to resist one another. What will happen when Jade’s last month in Sunshine is up? Will Dell let Jade walk away and settle for the time they have together or fight for what he wants?

Animal Attraction is a sensual novel jam-packed with rampaging emotions, adorable animals and sweet characters. I love Jade and Dell. These two characters really need each other. Discovering the secret that Jade has been harboring since arriving in Sunshine is gut-wrenching. I could feel the powerful emotions leaping off the pages as Jade relives the incident that brought her to Sunshine. She’s wounded and in need of a little extra care, and that is exactly what Dr. Dell is good at. Although, Dell’s past has left him with a few wounds of his own. It is easy to feel his pain even though he is reluctant to talk about it. He is the typical man you hear about: the one that bottles it all up inside but you can still feel it. At times I wanted to growl at these two—both are so stubborn! When Dell and Jade are together the scenes are magic and their desire pours off the pages. Oh and I love how she makes fun referring to him as the woman whisperer when she really wants him to start whispering to her.

I think my only problem with this story is that it is similar to Animal Magnetism in the fact that the main couple’s relationship is on a time limit. In the first book, Brady is leaving in a month and in this one Jade’s stay in Sunshine is expiring in a month as well. It’s not something to grip too much over but it bothered me a little. Otherwise, I rather enjoyed my trip back into the lives of my favorite Sunshine, Idaho citizens. I was so excited to see what was going on now with Brady, Lilah and her menagerie of animals and I can’t wait to read Adam’s story.

Animal Attraction features some rather hilarious bits. It’s really hard to say what animal stole the show this time. Twinkles was definitely the star in Animal Magnetism but in Animal Attraction there are so many animal induced funny moments it’s hard to pick a favorite. I think Peanut the parrot and Beans the kitten are running neck and neck. I love Peanut’s little comments like “Crushin’ on the Doc” and Beans stubborn nature. All the animals provide plenty of laughs.

Jill Shalvis’ Animal Attraction is a lovely romance with tons of heart and humor.
