Lucy Hawkins has landed her dream job after graduating college at a winery in Napa Valley. The only problem is that she has no way to get there since her car recently broke down. She had a nice two week trip planned to tour the county as she made her way to her new home. When arriving back home to visit her family for her big fair well her parents offer her their old car so she can make the trip, but there is only one catch and that is she has to ride with her brother’s best friend and the guy who broke her heart, Reece. Can they last two weeks on the road without killing one another?

Reece Sullivan is tired of living in the past and is ready to get out of a town that holds so many painful memories. He fixed up the Hawkins’ car so he would be able to make the drive out to California to start his new job as a wine maker. The last thing he expected was to be stuck with Lucy for two weeks. Reece doesn’t know if he wants to strangle her or kiss her. Can they finally let go of the past or will this two weeks of traveling tear them more apart?

Love Story is done in dual povs which I loved but what really captured my interest were the flashbacks that Lauren Layne included showing her readers how they became friends at such a young age, to first loves, and through heartbreak with many more moments in-between ensuring that I never felt lost.

I really love the whole road trip plot and Ms. Layne told it well. Lucy and Reece were total opposites to begin with while she comes from a close, loving family he came from one that was broken after his mother passed away. The Hawkins pretty much adopted him and he became one of the family with sleepovers and more. They were always opposites but always got along until she gave him her virginity and then the same day caught him kissing his ex. Since then they don’t see each other much and when they do all they do is bicker and fight.

I did adore Love Story but there were moments of the constant going back and forth that was giving me a headache feeling like I was riding in the car with them on this trip out to California. At times they showed they still cared about one another but I didn’t really feel the romance between them. Did they have chemistry? Yes, but I did feel as if it was only sexual.

In the end Love Story wasn’t one of my favorite stories by Ms. Layne but I am glad that I read it. I loved knowing that their HEA was just around the corner after all they both went through. At times I wanted to weep for them both but I was rooting for them the whole time. There was plenty of humor while they were on the road that kept the story fun and uplifting. I can’t wait to see what will be next for the talented Ms. Layne.

The end of the Wedding Belles series? Say it isn’t so! After I started the first book in this series I just knew it was going to be addicting and boy was I right. Lauren Layne brings strong and successful women together who are charming, witty, and know how to get the job done. While their own personal love lives have been anything but successful these Belles show that it just takes the right moment and the right guy to have them humming the wedding march themselves.

In the latest and last book, To Love and to Cherish, I believe Layne saved the best Belle for last. We get an inside look at how Alexis Morgan started her dream business in a bar with a strange man, cheap wine, and good bar food. . Logan Harris had no idea his life was going to change when he sat next to the beautiful woman at the bar, but it’s about time Alex sees him as more than just her silent partner and accountant but as the man who has been in love with her since the day they met. Logan will stop at nothing to finally get her to notice him and after a few kisses Alex is finally looking at him differently so when Alex’s sister’s wedding in Florida comes up, Logan has the perfect plan and if it doesn’t work out he’s headed back to England.

Ever since the first book, To Have and to Hold, I have been dying for this one! Watching Logan pine for Alex was one of the sweetest things and at times I felt bad that his feelings were either ignored or not reciprocated. Logan came off as proper and quite but when he really started to open up and show his feelings he was just wow! I liked that he came from a family of money but took his own path the entire time and made himself successful by making investments or starting his own business adventures. Alex was a harder nut to crack at times. She was always so very well put together so when Logan started to help her unwind I think I enjoyed her a lot more.

When Logan and Alex really got their romance going I felt they had the right amount of sexual tension to balance out the chemistry and pull between them. They might have a lot in common and have been good friends for so many years but the challenges between them and getting to know each other more on a personal and intimidate level was something I really enjoyed. Overall, I just loved these two and they are in the running for favorite couple in this series.

Layne brings a fresh new look into the lives of Wedding Planners in To Love and to Cherish. Her characters are likable and enjoyable and I totally wish this series would go on forever. The romance was balanced well with the pace of the book and while there wasn’t really a huge conflict, this story just really worked. To Love and to Cherish will leave you feeling good and I’m starting a petition to keep this series going. Layne is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and that’s why I not only have to recommend To Love and to Cherish to everyone, but this entire series!

Police officers Vincent Moretti and Jill Henley have been partners for years and during that time they have grown to care deeply for each other. But neither has been willing to make the move to take their relationship intimate and jeopardize their friendship. Things come to a head when Jill is forced to take time off to care for her mother in Florida. While there she meets Mr. Perfect and accepts his marriage proposal. Vin is blindsided when she returns engaged. Can Vin finally take a chance before Jill is lost to him forever?

I’ve never had the pleasure of reading Lauren Layne before and boy have I been missing out! Cuff Me was just what I was looking for. At times I wanted to shake Vin for his pigheadedness while still desperately wanting him to wake up and grab Jill before it was too late. I truly enjoyed this story and you can bet I’ll be back for more of Layne’s New York Finest series!
