It took long enough.  Too long for Rick Barton to realize that his boyfriend was never going to change.  The man enjoyed hitting him too much to ever stop.  Leaving the home they shared and the company that employed them both was the smartest thing he’d done in a long time.

Rick takes an overdue unemployed vacation to contemplate the future.  Intending to forgo any entanglements proves to be pointless when he comes across a sexy stud on the beach.

From an abusive relationship to becoming something unimaginable, Rick can’t believe what Travis Chandler has done to him.  And he’s to work at the Paranormal Bureau of Investigation as his partner.  Tossed into a world he’d never thought possible and expected to hit the ground running on a case because someone is murdering werewolf and vampire leaders.  Talk about thrown into the deep end.

What an incredibly exciting balancing act of suspense and romance.  A character driven mystery opens in A Tooth for a Fang and entertains on every level.  Rick is smart and gun shy with good reason.  Luckily he’s strong enough to handle a new life thrown at him from left field.  Travis is easy to like and easy to imagine wringing his neck. Also, Rick is honest about his responsibility to the abuse he silently suffered, the guilt and self doubts.   Then the layers of investigation, bumpy romance, and a pair of realistic partners make A Tooth for a Fang an instant, sincere charmer.

They were both born on Kator and they were both soldiers.  There the similarities ended.  Ron Vid is a Celian, Zaoh is Haffa.  Their people have been at war what seems like forever.  They were always enemies, though the day Vid’s best friend was killed in battle by Zaoh’s sister Tela the Celian swore personal vengeance.  Unfortunately capturing Zaoh and Tela didn’t bring Vid the peace he craved.  Even when the interrogator’s actions killed her and The Haffa escaped Vid was left empty.

After the encounter Vid fled the planet and was labeled a traitor.  Becoming a mercenary was his best option and luckily Vid’s been able to hook up with renowned empath Amaari or Ami as part of his team.  Apparently fate is a fickle bitch because Zaoh is also now part of Ami’s team and they are expected to play nice.

Why their leader sends the pair on a mission together is anyone’s guess.  Maybe to figure out a way to ease the ever present crackling tension whenever they share a room?  Maybe to finally vent their issues once and for all. Or maybe it’s something else neither wants to admit to no matter how much they crave each other.  It should be a most interesting mission.

Erotic delights. Deadly battles.  Heady drama and high tension fracture apart in Sandstorm Heart, a truly compelling tale.  Intense carnal scenes play out against the characters’ emotional angst.  Zaoh is the stoic warrior.  Vid plagued by guilt so long it’s now a part of him.  Sandstorm Heart is a hardcore sensual romance played out in the stars.  Smokin’ hot.

Rizzo Berg spends his free time indulging in meaningless sex with one night stands or men who think they can make a relationship work.  None of them matter because they can’t reach Rizzo no matter how hard they try.  It’s been several years since his lover died and it seems Henry took Rizzo’s heart with him.

Going to sleep one night alone in his bed Rizzo next wakes aboard a Heracian star ship.  Captain Conrad D’Ollet explains their desperate fertility problems and the necessity of kidnapping humans to help them.  Rizzo is given several options though it is the stoic captain who intrigues him the most.  Likewise Conrad is fascinated with someone for the first time since he lost his family to the Heracian’s enemy in battle.

Each battle for the upper hand, Rizzo fights his need for domination while Conrad knows no other way.  Nothing would be more delicious than knocking the human down a peg or two as Rizzo pants for Conrad to be strong enough to sexually subdue him.   Enjoying a sexual relationship is all good and fine.  An emotional attachment however is the last thing either man wants.  Too bad, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Author Liv Olteano neatly blends a compelling science fiction tale with an angst ridden drama in The Heracian Affair.  Love is the last thing either man wants, the very last, yet fate grants both a second chance.  The premise is complex, the sex is absolutely erotic, and there are twists up to the ending.  The Heracian Affair explores emotional landmines within a captivating plot and scores big time.
